Kinilala ang anim na karatekas na sina 2019 Southeast Asian Games gold medalists Junna Tsukii (women’s 50kgs kumite) at Jamie Lim (women’s +61kgs), at biennial meet bronze medal- ists Joane Orbon (women’s – 61kgs), Sharief Afif (men’s +75kgs), Ivan Agustin (men’s – 75kgs) at Alwyn Batican (men’s -67kgs).

“We’re hoping that they can finally bring our athletes sa bubble so that we can do the proper timing, distancing and the reactions, but in terms of fitness and conditioning, they are in tip top shape 100%. and I’m pretty sure about that cause I seen their meetings,” pahayag ni Lim, Huwebes ng umaga sa lingguhang TOPS: Usapang Sports online session na suportado ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, Philippine Sports Commission at Games and Amusement Board.

“We submitted a request to PSC, that our athletes must train abroad as early as January and February, in Istanbul all of the players,” saad ni Lim. “But since training partners are a little bit scarce in the Philippines, we need to have training partners abroad, who are world class karatekas. Yung training system na ginagawa nila maa-adopt natin and at the same time nasusukat na natin yung level natin kung saan tayo,” paliwanag ni Lim.
