LAOGAN, BAGONG DEPUTY COMMISSIONER NG BI

ITINALAGA sa Bureau of Immigration (BI) si Daniel Y. Laogan bilang bagong Deputy Commissioner.
Si Laogan na isang Abogado by profession ay nagtapos ng Commerce mula sa University of Sto Tomas (UST), kumuha rin ito ng Master of Science in Commerce sa nasabi ring unibersidad at nagtapos ng Abogasya sa Ateneo de Manila University at pumasa sa Bar sa taong 1982.
Bukod sa kanyang mga karanasan sa private ang public sector, nagtrabaho rin ito bilang Regent ng Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila at naging propesor ng law in taxation sa College of Law sa Adamson University.
Dati siyang Director ng Philippine Savings Bank, National Food Authority, at Development Bank of the Philippines. Naging Senior Adviser for Investment and Promotions and Investor Relations sa Manila Economic and Cultural Center.
Bago ang kanyang appointment bilang Deputy Commissioner, siya ay Director ng Philtrust Bank, at Senior Adviser ng Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. Nagsilbi rin siyang President Emeritus ng Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. at Chairman and President ng Addmore Group of Companies, at managing partner siya ng Daniel Y. Laogan Law Offices.
Sa pagkakahirang kay Laogan, na kumpleto na ang tatlong miyembro ng board of commissioners, kabilang ang commissioner at dalawang deputy commissioners na kasalukuyang hawak ni Commissioner Norman Tansingco at Deputy Commissioner Joel Viado. GENE ADSUARA
