P470 taas sahod sa NCR, iminumungkahi

HUMIRIT na ang Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) ng P470 taas-sahod o P1,007 daily minimum wage sa National Capital Region (NCR).
Ito’y kasunod ng inihaing petisyon ng hanay ng mga manggagawa sa Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB)-NCR Office bunsod ng lingguhang taas sa presyo ng produktong petrolyo at pangunahing bilihin sa bansa.
“Clearly, our minimum wage earners and their families have fallen from the category of low-income to newly poor,” pahayag ni TUCP Partylist at President Raymond Mendoza.
Inihayag ni Mendoza na lubha itong nakakalungkot para sa bansa na nais palaguin ang ekonomiya para makaahon sa pandemya pero nagdurusa ang mamamayan sa kahirapan.
Ang daily minimum wage sa NCR ay nasa P500 hanggang P537, base sa National Wages and Productivity Commission ng DOLE.
Ipinunto ng TUCP na ang kasalukuyang P12,843.48 take home pay ng mga manggagawa ay masyadong mababa kumpara sa P16,625 ‘poverty threshold” para sa pamilyang may 5 miyembro sa Metro Manila.
“In 2019, our wage petition was dismissed. In 2020, COVID-19 took its toll on us. In 2021, we fought to recover and endured. Today, we make an action for and behalf of the poor workers and their families in Metro Manila. We are waging our war against poverty, we are aiming for a wage that will save our lives,” ang sabi pa ni Mendoza. (Daris Jose)
