P95 B Pasig River hybrid expressway nag ground breaking

Nagkaron ng ground breaking ceremony ang P95 billion na Pasig River Expressway (PAREX) project sa pangunguna ng San Miguel Corp. na siyang magdudugtong sa eastern at western cities ng Metro Manila.

“I believe that this project is bound to be one of the most impactful projects during the time of President Duterte, in terms of integrating the social, economic and environmental needs of our people. I’m very proud that we have this one-in-a lifetime opportunity to provide an inclusive, future-ready solution to traffic, and at the same time restore the Pasig River back to its old glory,” wika ni SMC president Ramon Ang.

Ang proyektong ito ay kasama sa programa na Build Build Build ng pamahalaan kung saan ito mayrong 19.37 kilometers na haba at my construction table na 36 na buwan.

Magkakaron ito ng six-lane elevated expressway na dadaan sa kahabaan ng baybayin ng Pasig River, mula sa Radial Road 10 sa Manila hanggang C-6 Road o sa South East Metro Manila Expressway sa Taguig.

Ang PAREX ay isang integrated elevated road network na magdudugtong sa north, south, east at west corridors ng Metro Manila. Kapag tapos na ang proyekto, ito ay inaasahan na makakatulong upang mababawasan ang travel time mula Manila papuntang Pasig ng 15 hanggang 20 na minuto.

Ayon naman kay Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade na ang buong mamayan ang mabibigyan ng benipesyo at lalago ang ekonomiya dahil mababawasan ang congestion at traffic sa mga nasabing corridors.

“The DOTr fully supports this project because I know that it’s good for the people, for the environment, economy and in addressing traffic congestion in the metropolis,” wika ni Tugade.

Ang infrastructure project na PAREX ay makapagbibigay din ng mabilis na alternative access sa mga maraming business districts tulad ng Makati, Ortigas at Bonifacio Global City.

“Once operational, PAREX will decongest Metro Manila traffic because it will connect toll roads and freeways of the capital – Road 10 in Manila, EDSA, C-5 and further to Rizal, Cainta and Marikina. This infrastructure project will likewise set to provide faster and alternative access to several business districts, such as the Makati, Ortigas and Bonifacio Global City,” dagdag ni Ang.

Kasama sa proyektong ito ang design principle tungkol sa kalikasan at ekonomiya hindi lamang para sa mga motorista. Magkakaron din ito ng iba’t ibang modes ng transportasyon upang magkaron ng walang hintong paglalakbay sa north-south at west-east connectivity sa Metro Manila.

“PAREX is based on green architecture principle. A hybrid transport infrastructure, the elevated expressway integrates various modes of transportation – a bus rapid system, dedicated bike lanes, pedestrian walkways and jogging paths,” saad ni Ang.

Nagkaron ng signing ang Supplemental Toll Operations Agreement para sa PAREX noong nakaraang Linggo sa pangunguna ni SMC President Ramon Ang at DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade kasama ang mga opisyal ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), Philippine National Construction Corporation (PNCC), Pasig River Expressway Corporation at Skyway O&M Corporation.
