PAGLUWAG SA TRAVEL RESTRICTION, HUDYAT NG PAGTAAS NG DAYUHANG BIYAHERO SA BANSA

UMAASA ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) na ang pagluluwag sa travel restrictions ay hudyat na  tataas ang bilang ng mga biyahero sa Pilipinas.

Sinabi ng BI Commissioner Jaime Morente na ang pag-aalis ng RT-PCR requirement para sa mga paparating na biyahero at ganap na bakunado at kahit na isang booster shot ay nakakaengganyo sa ilang dayuhang biyahero na dumalaw sa Pilipinas.

Maging ang travel insurance requirement para sa mga paparating na pasahero ay tinanggal na rin, pero bagama’t hindi na hinihingi, mahigpit pa ring inirerekomenda ang health protocol.

“With this development, travel will be easier in the new normal,” ayon  Morente.  “We hope that this will boost the number of international arrivals in the next few months,” dagdag pa nito.

Ibinalita ni Morente na nitong summer season, nagtala ang BI ng 15,000 total per day.  “The arrivals have steadily increased since February, but has plateaued at the tail end of summer,” iniulat nito.

Inabiso ng  Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) na simula May 30, lahat ng mga dayuhan na  fully vaccinated foreign at may booster shot ay exempted na sa RT-PCR test requirement.

Kabilang din sa exempted ay ang mga fully vaccinated na mga bata na may edad 12  hanggang  17 at 12 anyos pababa kahit anuman ang kanilang vaccination status.

“We are hoping that little by little, the country’s international tourism sector can once again flourish as we move towards the new normal,” ayon kay  Morente. (GENE ADSUARA)
