PBBM, umaasa na makikita na bababa ang presyo ng bigas habang papalapit na ang Kapaskuhan

UMAASA si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na bababa ang presyo ng bigas habang papalapit na ang Kapaskuhan.
Tinanong kasi si Pangulong Marcos kung ano ang Christmas gift nito sa lahat ng mga Filipino kung hindi ang bigas sa halagang P20 kada kilo.
“The P20 was really the goal, the dream… We are continuing with the transfer payments that we have began with,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.
“We are going to widen the scope of the Kadiwa so it is now… the Kadiwa was always conducted at an LGU level, individually. (Now, it is a) national program,” wika pa ng Pangulo.
“I’m hoping that we can… it looks like baka naman swertehin ,” dagdag na pahayag ng Punong Ehekutibo.
Samantala, binisita naman ni Pangulong Marcos ang International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) headquarters sa Los Baños, Laguna kung saan binanggit nito na i- adopt ang supportive policies para i- modernize ang rice sector bilang bahagi ng “vibrant agri-food i ndustry” sa bansa.
“There are new technologies that address the problems that we are facing, and those technologies are beginning to be disseminated down to the local farmers,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos sa hiwalay na mensahe.
“The pandemic and the situation in Ukraine have been a glaring reminder of how fundamental the agricultural sector is and food supply not only in the Philippines but to the entire world,” dagdag na pahayag nito..
Tinuran pa ng Pangulo na ang agricultural technologies ay isinulong kahit pa maharap sa panganib ang rice crops mula sa “higher fertilizer prices and challenges in water management.”
“And as I’ve said, it gives me hope to see the research that we were doing is headed exactly in those directions that we feel are going to be necessary — that we have to develop further,” ayon sa Pangulo.
Ang IRRI ay isang independent, nonprofit, research at educational institute, itinatag noong 1960 ng Ford and Rockefeller foundations na may suporta ng Philippine government.
Mayroon itong tanggapan sa 17 rice-growing countries sa Asya at Africa at mayroong mahigit na 1,000 staff.
“The IRRI is the world’s premier research organization dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations,” ayon sa ulat.
