PDu30, inaprubahan ang pagpapalawig ng 2 pang linggo ng travel ban laban sa UK

INAPRUBAHAN noong Disyembre 26 ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang rekumendasyon ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Jr. na palawigin ng dalawa pang linggo ang travel ban laban sa United Kingdom (UK) pagkatapos ng Disyembre 31, 2020.

Inaprubahan din ng Pangulo ang rekumendasyon ng Department of Health (DOH) para sa “strict mandatory 14-day quarantine” para sa mga byahero na manggagaling mula sa mga bansa o lugar na napaulat na may COVID-19 new variant, kabilang na ang Hong Kong, Singapore, at Australia.

“regardless of RT-PCR test results; travel restrictions in countries that have recorded cases of the COVID-19 new variant when transmission of the new variant in these countries have been confirmed at the community level; and all positive RT-PCR specimens of UK travellers must be forwarded to the Philippine Genome Center, Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, and the University of the Philippines National Institutes of Health, for genome sequencing,” ayon kay Sec. Roque.

Bukod dito, inaprubahan din ng Chief Executive ang rekumendasyon ni Dr. Jaime C. Montoya, Executive Director ng Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development, na palakasin ang genomics surveillance, bilang bahagi ng biosurveillance, isama na rin ang target sequencing sa tinatawag na high-risk groups, gaya ng clusters na may mataas na kaso at clusters na may mataas na “severity at deaths”.

Samantala, inaprubahan din ng Punong Ehekutibo ang rekumendasyon ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra na paikliin ang panahon ng pagpapalabas ng Implementing Rules and Regulations ng Executive Order No. 122, na nagpapalakas sa border control sa pamamagitan ng pag-adopt at implementasyon ng Advanced Passenger Information System.
