Nagpabakuna na noong Lunes ng gabi si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte laban sa COVID-19 gamit ang China-made Sinopharm vaccine, ayon sa kanyang longtime aide na si Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong”Go.
Ipinakita ni Go ang pagpapabakuna ng Pangulo sa pamamagitan ng livestream sa Facebook.
Si Health Secretary Francisco Duque ang nagturok kay Duterte na ginawa sa Malacañang.
Sa kaliwang braso tinurukan ang Pangulo habang nakamasid si Go.
Kinumpirma rin ni Go na pumayag ang mga doktor ng Pangulo na mabakunahan ito.
“I feel good and I have been expecting this shot, vaccination a long time ago. Sinopharm itong tinuturok sa akin,” ani Duterte.
Hindi pa nabibigyan ng emergency use authorization (EUA) ng Food and Drug Administration ang Sinopharm na gawa sa China pero meron itong compassionate use permit na hiniling ng Presidential Security Group.
Kinumpirma rin ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque ang pagpapabakuna ng Pangulo.
“This confirms that PRRD received his first dose tonight of the Sinopharm anti-Covid 19 vaccine. His first dose was covered by the Compassionate Use Permit issued to the PSG hospital by the FDA,” ani Roque. (Daris Jose)
