Petecio, Paalam swak sa Summer Olympic Games

TUMAAS na sa anim ang mga magiging pambato ng bansa para sa 32nd Summer Olympic Games 2020 sa Tokyo, Japan na ginambala ng Covid-19 kaya naurong sa parating na Huly 23-Agosto 8 sa pagkakapasok na rin nina women’s featherweight Nesthy Petecio at men’s flyweight Carlo Paalam bunsod sa mataas na world rankings.
Ipinaaalam ang kaganapan nitong Biyernes ng International Olympic Committee Boxing Task Force (IOC-BTF) sa Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) ang pag-qualify ng dalawa sa quadrennial sportsfest na unang tinakda noong Hulyo 2020.
Sina middleweight Eumir Felix Marcial at flyweight Irish Magno ang unang dalawang boxer na mga umentra sa Tokyo Olympics sa pagpasa sa Asian-Oceanian Olympic Qualifiers sa Amman, Jordan noong Marso 2020.
Nakapuwesto na rin para sa pinakamalaking paligsahan sa daigdig sina gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo at pole vaulter Ernest John Obiena.
