Pinagpapatuloy ang ‘legacy of philanthropy’ ng pamilya: MICHELLE, pinarangalan ng FFCCCII dahil sa kanyang accomplishments

PINARANGALAN si Miss Philippines Universe 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee ng Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc (FFCCCII) dahil sa kanyang outstanding performance sa Miss Universe na kung saan umabot siya sa Top 10.

Iginawad kay Michelle ang special plaque noong December 28, sa Federation Center ng FFCCCII na matatagpuan sa Binondo, Manila City.

Ayon sa speech ni FFCCCII President Dr. Cecilio K. Pedro, “as a fellow Filipino of Chinese descent, we take immense pride in celebrating the accomplishments of Dee, who is the granddaughter of our federation’s former Vice President, philanthropist and the late Chinabank Chairman Dee K. Chiong.

“Another past Vice President of our Federation was also her grand uncle, the late civic leader Dee Hong Lue.”

Dagdag pa nito, “Michelle embodies the values of what I describe in Filipino as ‘Dugong Tsino, Pusong Pinoy,’ cherishing her ethnic Chinese heritage while being an exemplary Filipino citizen contributing to Philippine progress.”

Ipinagmamalaki nila si Michelle sa pagpapatuloy ng legacy of philanthropy ng kanyang pamilya.

Ayon pa sa FFCCCII president, “Michelle late granduncle, pre-war Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce President and 1920 China Bank founder Dee C. Chuan, as well as her paternal great-great-granduncle, the 19th-century Philippine lumber industry pioneer entrepreneur and civic leader Dy Han Kia, were also known for their public service.

“Philanthropy is deeply rooted in the Confucian tradition of Chinese culture. With a lineage steeped in civic causes, it is no wonder that Michelle, a unique beauty queen, possesses both a philanthropic heart and an idealistic commitment to her civic causes.

“Michelle’s years of hard work have paid off, making her an inspiration to our youth. We hope that she will continue to share her talents and lend a helping hand to our fellow Filipinos, especially our underprivileged brothers and sisters who have less in life.”

Ibinahagi naman ni Michelle na ang kanyang public service ay nagsimula sa kanilang pamilya at meron talagang ‘pusong pinoy’.

“What I can say about the Dee family, for whatever we plan and this is consistent to all of us, whatever we do, we really aim to serve. We really aim to implant and do whatever we can so that the Philippines becomes better, whether through small or big endeavors,” bahagi ng speech ni Michelle.

Dagdag pa niya, “My advocacy is all about making the world a better place… also to utilize any platform I’ve built to creative a positive impact in the world.”

Ina-acknowledge ang kanyang dedication sa various civic advocacies. Ang role niya bilang goodwill ambassador para sa Autism Society of the Philippines.

Si Michelle din ang bagong ambassador ng Department of Tourism.

Samantala, ibinalita ni Michelle na maraming naka-line up na projects na gagawin niya sa pagpasok ng 2024, bukod sa ‘Black Rider’, may iba pang shows at gagawa rin siya ng pelikula.

Kasama rin siya sa ‘Kapuso Countdown to 2024’ ngayong December 31 na gaganapin sa SM Mall of Asia Grounds.

SA layuning palakasin pang lalo ang industriya ng Pelikulang Pilipino, naglunsad ang Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), sa pakikipagtulungan ng Ayala Malls at sa Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), ng “Balik Sinehan” event noong Pasko sa Trinoma Malls Cinema sa Quezon City.

Naghain si Njel De Mesa, ang Vice Chairman ng MTRCB na isa ring film producer, ng mahahalagang pananaw upang maibsan ang hamon ng pagbaba ng kita at kabawasan ng manonood sa sinehan bunsod ng popularidad ng mga streaming platforms.

“Hindi naman masama ang teknolohiya—ngunit sa pag-usbong ng mga streaming platforms, nagkaroon ng mas accessible at competitively-priced options ang mga manonood, naging mahirap para sa lokal na industriya ng pelikula pati na rin sa mga sinehan na makabangon pagkatapos ng pandemya. Kailangan nila ang ating tulong.”

Bukod sa pag-enganyo sa publiko na suportahan ang industriyang pelikula, inindorso rin ng MTRCB ang lineup ng pelikula sa ika-49 na Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Binigyan ang mga manonood at miyembro ng media ng gabay hinggil sa edad ng mga pelikulang kasali ngayong taon, mula sa G (General Audience) hanggang sa Parental Guidance) at R-13 (Rated-13). Binigyang-diin din ng Board ang kahalagahan ng Responsableng Panonood.

“Iba pa rin ang saya ng panonood ng sine kasama ang pamilya at mga kaibigan, kaya’t narito ang MTRCB, FAP, Movie Workers Welfare (MOWELFUND), at Ayala Malls ngayong Pasko upang hikayatin ang lahat na dumalo at maranasan ang familial and communal experience na natatangi sa panonood ng pelikula sa malaking iskrin.

“Higit sa pagbibigay saya, tumutulong tayo sa pangangalaga sa ikinabubuhay ng mga nagtatrabaho sa industriya,” pahayag ni MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto.

Dumalo sina FAP Special Projects Officer Raymond Diamzon, FAP Admin Secretary Emilio “Toby” Dollete at Atty. Aundre Dollete, at mga artista mula sa NDM Studios na sina Shaneley Santos, Cheska Ortega at Ivan Padilla para suportahan ang MTRCB.

Pagkatapos ng “Balik Sinehan” event, sama-samang nanoood ng MMFF entries sina Sotto, De Mesa,at ang mga MTRCB Board Members na sina Atty. Cesar Pareja, Mark Andaya at Neal Del Rosario.
