Pinas, China lumagda sa MOU ukol sa e-commerce

KAPWA nilagdaan ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ng Pilipinas at Tsina ang isang memorandum of understanding (MOU) hinggil sa electronic commerce na naglalayong palakasin ang pagtutulungan sa nasabing sektor.
Sa state visit ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa China, kapuwa tinintahan nina DTI Secretary Alfredo Pascual at Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao ang MOU sa E-Commerce.
Sa ilalim ng MOU, “the two countries vowed to promote trade of high-quality featured products and services; pursue business exchange between micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and e-commerce platforms, startups and logistics service providers; and to share best practices and innovative experiences in utilizing e-commerce.”
“This agreement will facilitate the sharing of experiences, best practices, critical information and policies related to trade and e-commerce. We look forward to interventions that will promote consumer and merchant protection, intellectual property, data security and privacy laws. This MOU will be beneficial in building the capacity of our local businesses to cope with the modernizing business sector,” ayon kay Pascual.
Ang MOU ani Pascual ay alinsunod sa agenda ng E-Commerce Philippine 2022 Roadmap, na naglalayong palakasin ang cross-border cooperation at market access sa pamamagitan ng trade agreements at cooperation programs kasama ang mga major e-commerce trading partners.
Magagamit din ang MOU para sa capacity building programs para mapahusay ang “knowledge and skills” ng MSME para mapalawak ang kanilang potensiyal sa e-commerce.
Sa pamamagitan ng MOU, ang Working Group on Electronic Commerce sa pagitan ng Manila at Beijing ay bubuuin bilang “focal point of coordination” para sa magkabilang panig. (Daris Jose)
