QCINEMA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL GOES HYBRID FOR 2020!

DESPITE the COVID-19 pandemic, the love for cinema does not stop as the QCinema International Film Festival goes hybrid for 2020!

 

Running from November 27 to December 5, the festival will hold screenings in an outdoor venue and online, via the TVOD platform UPSTREAM.

 

According to festival director, Ed Lejano, they decided to stage a hybrid film festival as their way to “adapt to the unprecedented challenges of 2020.”

 

Because of this, they will be holding a socially-distanced and by-invitation-only screening at an outdoor venue in Quezon City.

 

Opening the festival is the monochromatic version of Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite. The black and white version of the Palme d’Or winner had its first screening at the Rotterdam Film Festival last January.

 

Aside from Parasite, two other films which will have physical screenings, Fernanda Valadez’s Identifying Features and Raya Martin‘s Death of Nintendo.

 

QCinema has also announced a line-up of 13 films, all of which will be streaming via UPSTREAM during its run. Those who want to view the films can do so by purchasing the tickets via GMovies.
