RACHELLE ANN, first time na nag-celebrate ng birthday bilang isang ina; nagsimula na ang pagbabalik-’Les Miserables’

TAHIMIK ang naging birthday celebration ni Rachelle Ann Go-Spies kasama lang ang kanyang husband and baby boy sa United Kingdom. 

Nag-turn 35 years old si Rachelle noong August 31. Ito raw ang first time niyang mag-birthday bilang isang nanay na.

“35. My family is the best gift. God is so so so good. Thank you everyone for all the greetings,” post ni Rachelle sa Instagram.

Handa na rin si Rachelle sa kanyang pagbalik bilang si Fantine sa London West End musical na Les Miserables. Nagsimula ang six shows niya para sa staged concert sa araw mismo ng kanyang birthday.

Na-miss ni Rachelle ang gumanap na Fantine na una niyang ginawa noong 2015 sa West End. Naudlot lang ang muling pagbalik niya sa Les Miserables noong 2020 dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.

NAGPADALA ng official statement via Facebook ang chairperson for International Cultural Association ng Miss International na si Akemi Shimomura at malungkot na binalita ang muling pagkansela ng naturang pageant.

Ito ang ikatlong beses na makansela ang Miss International pageant. Unang cancellation ay noong 1966 dahil nawalan ng sponsor ang pageant sa Long Beach, California. Nasundan ito noong 2020 dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.

Ito ang buong offiical statement:

“Notice of Cancellation of Miss International 2021

“Thank you for your continued support of the Miss International Beauty Pageant.

“Taking into consideration the health and safety issues, as well as the ongoing global impact caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic, we have come to a conclusion to cancel this year’s Miss International 2021 pageant, which was originally scheduled to be held this fall.

“We would like to express our deepest regret especially to the participants from all over the world, and to all those who have been supporting our event every year. We humbly ask for your understanding in light of this unusual circumstance which is beyond our control.

“The next edition, dubbed as the 60th Miss International Beauty Pageant, is scheduled to be held in the fall of 2022. Details of which will be announced in due time.

“Rest assured that through our slogan “Cheer All Women” we are still committed on pursuing our goal of supporting all women, and continuing with the legacy of this beauty pageant, which is to promote “friendship and goodwill with other countries in the world” and the “realization of world peace through international exchange”.

“We sincerely hope for your continued support and cooperation.”

Ang last edition ng Miss International ay noong 2019 na napanalunan ni Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand. Hawak pa rin niya ang korona hanggang mag-resume ang naturang pageant sa 2022.

Ang ipapadala dapat ng Pilipinas sa Miss International ay si Hannah Arnold na napanalunan ang titulong Bb. Pilipinas-International 2021 noong July 2021.

NAGSAMPA ng demanda ang production ng Mission Impossible 7 sa kanilang insurance company dahil sa bigo nitong mag-pay out sa naging gastos ng production sa ilang beses na pagtigil nila ng shooting dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.

Ayon sa lawsuit na sinampa ng Paramount Pictures sa federal court in California, apat na beses na natigil mag-shoot ang pelikula ni Tom Cruise sa Italy at tatlong beses natigil naman sa United Kingdom. Nangyari ito between February 2020 at June 2021.

“The stoppages were caused by positive coronavirus tests among members of the cast or crew, or quarantine or lockdowns imposed in countries where the thriller was being filmed. The lawsuit accuses Indiana-based Federal Insurance Company of breach of contract, saying it has agreed only to pay out $5 million for the first stoppage,” ayon sa lawsuit.

Nakipagtalo pa raw ang insurance company at sinabing, “there was no evidence that those cast and crew members could not continue their duties, despite being infected with SARS-CoV-2 and posing an undeniable risk to other individuals involved with the production.”

Dahil sa production shutdowns, malaki ang nalugi sa Paramount kaya hindi sapat ang $5 million na gustong ibayad lang ng insurance company.

The delayed Mission: Impossible 7 is due to be released in September 2022.
