RAYA FIGHTS WITH ARNIS IN THE FIRST ‘RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON’ TEASER

IT’S been a few months since Disney treated us with the first- look image of the upcoming film Raya and the Last Dragon.

Now, they have finally unveiled the official teaser to the film, which will get Filipinos more excited for the film’s release next year!

Check out the trailer here:

Aside from hinting at the villain, Raya will be facing in the film, what caught the Filipino’s attention is Raya’s weapon that looks a lot like our very own arnis. A lot of netizens also took notice of the salakot and the sword, which were both common in Southeast Asian culture.

This comes to no surprise, of course, as the film is Disney’s first-ever film to center on Southeast Asian culture.

Raya and the Last Dragon is set in the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons used to live in harmony. That is until an evil force led the dragons to sacrifice themselves to save humanity.

When evil returns to their land 500 years later, a lone warrior named Raya must track down the last dragon to restore the fractured land and unite its people.

The movie comes from directors Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, co-directors Paul Briggs, and John Ripa. It features the voices of Kelly Marie Tran as Raya and Awkwafina as the last dragon Sisu. Raya and the Last Dragon premieres in cinemas in March 2021. For updates and for more information, you may fol- low the film’s official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. (ROHN ROMULO)
