‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’, Streamed Less Than ‘Wonder Woman 1984’

ZACK Snyder’s Justice League was streamed less than fellow DC Extended Universe film Wonder Woman 1984 over its premiere weekend on HBO Max.
The film stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ray Porter as Darkseid, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
According to deadline.com, viewer recommendation and tracking company Samba TV found Zack Snyder’s Justice League was streamed by 1.8 million households subscribed to HBO Max from March 19-21.
By comparison, Wonder Woman 1984 was watched by 2.2 million households on HBO Max during its opening weekend from Dec. 25-27 last year.
Despite falling short of the Wonder Woman sequel’s numbers, Samba TV found Zack Snyder’s Justice League was streamed more than the first episode of Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ over the same frame.
It was viewed by 1.7 million households, making it the Disney streaming platform’s most-watched series premiere to date. This supports Disney+’s statement yesterday, in which the streamer claimed The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 1 attracted more viewers than its fellow Marvel Studios show WandaVision and The Mandalorian Season 2 premiere.
All the same, there are currently no official plans to continue the so-called Snyderverse post-Justice League.
In a recent interview, WarnerMedia Studios CEO Ann Sarnoff urged DCEU fans to be patient post-Snyder Cut, saying “When the fans see what we’ve got in store, they’ll know that DC is in good hands across many different platforms with many different creators.”
In addition to solo movies for the Justice League heroes Wonder Woman, Aquaman and The Flash, DC’s upcoming slate includes films and HBO Max series focused on Batgirl, Shazam, Black Adam and the Green Lantern Corps, along with relatively lesser-known DC comic book characters like Blue Beetle, Zatanna and Static Shock.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is now streaming on HBO Max and HBO GO. (ROHN ROMULO)
