THE first trailer for Netflix’s Red Notice has arrived teasing the streamer’s epic and explosive November blockbuster.
Starring Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Dwayne Johnson, the film will follow Johnson’s FBI agent who is adept at tracking high-profile criminals.
In his sights are Reynolds’ con artist and Gadot’s art thief, both of whom are considered the world’s greatest in their respective fields. Little else is known about the film, save for the fact that the three characters must team-up for some sort of mission that will see them go on a globe-trotting adventure.
Netflix has already had quite the year for its original movies. In May, the streamer released Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, the first original blockbuster from the director outside of the DCEU since Sucker Punch. Netflix also released the high-profile Fear Street trilogy over the summer, a grand experiment that saw the streamer release all three films in the series over three weeks in July.
With producer Hiram Garcia touting Red Notice as Netflix’s biggest film yet, though, the streamer is gearing up for a massive fall movie season and the first trailer teasing the highly anticipated film is finally here.
Netflix released the Red Notice trailer and it finally gives more insight into the film’s story, introducing Johnson’s FBI agent John Hartley who is tracking two of the world’s most wanted criminals, Reynold’s Nolan and Gadot’s Sarah.
The clip begins with Johnson’s character catching up to Reynold’s conman which leads them to team-up to catch Gadot’s art thief character. Of course, things don’t go as planned and all three are wrapped up in a much bigger adventure than they couldn’t have predicted.

Red Notice is just one of the many major films set to hit Netflix in the back half of 2021. In addition to the blockbuster, the streamer will release awards season contenders like Don’t Look Up starring Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio and Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Kristen Dunst. Still, it seems like Red Notice may truly be the biggest blockbuster the streamer has released yet.
From previews of the fight sequences between Reynolds, Gadot, and Johnson, who are all experienced in these types of scenes, to the expansive locations (including one wintry fortress where Johnson’s character makes an explosive escape), Red Notice looks set to blow expectations out of the water.
It certainly helps that three of Hollywood’s hottest stars are at the center of the film. Both Reynolds and Johnson released two of the summer’s biggest movies with Free Guy and Jungle Cruise, while Gadot is still the DCEU’s reigning Wonder Woman.
With Red Notice bringing them all together, it’s sure to be a major hit for the streamer, written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, will drop on Netflix November 12.
