NDRRMC todo paghahanda na rin vs ‘Siony’: Mining, tourism, quarrying activities tigil muna

NAGHAHANDA na ngayon ang National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) bilang paghahanda sa bagyong Siony sa kabila ng nagpapatuloy na disaster response sa bagyong Rolly.
Una nang pinulong ng Council ang mga regional DRRMCs para talakayin ang on-going preparation sa severe tropical storm Siony.
Kabilang sa tinalakay sa pulong ay ang pagpapatupad ng pre-emptive evacuation sa mga lugar na highly susceptible sa storm surge, floods at landslides; dissemination of warnings sa mga lugar na maaapektuhan; prepositioning of food, non-food items at mga gamot sa ibat ibang strategic locations, activation ng medical teams mula sa DOH para sa posibleng deployment.
Naglabas din ang NDRRMC ng direktiba sa mga RDRRMC mem- ber agencies at LDRRMCs para itigil muna ang mining activities, tourism activities, at quarrying.
Iniulat naman ng Cordillera RDRRMC, na nagsagawa na sila ng pre-emptive evacuation sa mga flood and landslide prone areas sa probinsiya ng Apayao, Kalinga at Benguet.
Samantala, nagpulong na rin ang NDRRMC na pinangunahan ni DSWD Asec Encabo.
Dumalo rito ang UN Humanitarian Country Team kung saan pinag-usapan ang paghahanda sa pagsasagawa ng Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) mission sa mga lugar na lubhang naapektuhan ng supertyphoon Rolly.
