Mas maraming eco activities, asahan sa Metro Manila Subway Project- PBBM

SINABI ni Pangulong  Ferdinand  Marcos Jr.  na asahan na ang mas maraming  economic activities  sa Metro Manila Subway Project.

Pinangunahan kasi ni  Pangulong Marcos Jr.   ang  ground breaking  ceremony para sa pagtatayo ng Ortigas at Shaw Boulevard stations ng Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP- COntract Package 104) sa Pasig City.

Umaasa ang Pangulo na mage-enjoy ang mga mamamayang Filipino sa benepisyo ng nasabing proyekto.

“With accessible designated stations that can cater to a massive volume of passengers, we anticipate helping our people skip the long lines of traffic and even spare themselves from the perils of commuting,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang  keynote message.

“With improving linkages of key areas in business districts in the metro as well as the availability of stalls and other stores in the stations and nearby markets, we can see more business opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors and additional economic activity,” dagdag na wika ng Pangulo.

Hinikayat naman ng Punong Ehekutibo  ang publiko na manatiling positibo  at sa halip ay tanggapin ang inconveniences na dala ng pagtatayo ng  subway system bilang “small prize to pay” para sa  beneficial results nito.

“Although it is a given that the construction of these structures will take time and cause disruption, let us be optimistic and just count the small inconveniences as a small prize to pay for the fruitful results that this program, this project will yield,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.

“Let the breaking ground of this subway system signal our intention to the world to pursue even grander dreams and more ambitious endeavors that will bring comfort and progress to our people all over the country,” aniya pa rin.

Samantala, inilatag naman ni Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista   ang  “highlights”  ng buong MMSP,  ang kauna-unahang underground railway system ng bansa na tatakbo  mula  Valenzuela hanggang  Bicutan, o mahigit  sa33 kilometers, na may  17 stations.

Ayon kay Bautista, ang MMSP  ang magsisilbing “crown jewel” ng  mass transit infrastructure system ng bansa sa oras na matapos na ito.

“We are running at full speed on this project. We owe it to the commuting public,” ani Bautista.

Ang subway, sa oras na maging operational, ay kayang mag- accommodate ng mahigit sa  519,000 pasahero  kada araw.

Mababawasan na nito ang travel time mula Valenzuela hanggang Bicutan ng 45 minuto.

Ang groundbreaking ceremony ang magiging senyales ng pagsasara ng  bahagi ng  Meralco Avenue sa Pasig City – mula  Capitol Commons hanggang Shaw Boulevard – kung saan ang traffic  ay magiging ‘rerouted’ simula  Oktubre  3, 2022 hanggang 2028 upang bigyang daan ang nasabing konstruksyon.

Ang kabuuang  contract package ay  3.4 kkilometers long na may dalawang stations na konektado sa  920.5-meter tunnel at extended pa hanggang  1.86-kilometer tunnels na kumokonekta naman sa  Shaw Blvd hanggang  Kalayaan Avenue Station sa Taguig City.

Ang  MMSP ay suportado ng loans ng PIlipinas mula sa Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

“The tunnel will be formed using two huge tunnel boring machines (TBM) from Japan, using a technique called New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM),” ayon sa ulat.

“Each TBM to be used in the project can excavate 300 to 500 cubic meters of soil daily and creates a tunnel 9 to 12 meters long daily, using rotating cutting wheels that can easily break up hard soil and rocks. While the massive TBMs can significantly hasten the process of tunneling, above ground disruption will be kept to the minimum,” ayon pa rin sa ulat.  (Daris Jose)
