Bulacan achieves Hall of Fame award for Local Revenue Generation

CITY OF MALOLOS- The consistent and exemplary performance of the Province of Bulacan in local revenue collection under the administration of Governor Daniel R. Fernando has once again been recognized as the Department of Finance (DOF)-Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) conferred to the province the Hall of Fame award for Local Revenue Generation during the Awarding Ceremony held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City this morning.

The province has achieved this because it ranked 4th in 2018, 5th in 2019, and 1st in 2020 in terms of Highest Locally Sourced Revenues.

Meanwhile, for 2021, the province has ranked 2nd among all the provinces in the country in Highest Locally Sourced Revenues, and 9th in Collection Efficiency of Locally Sourced Revenues, which Fernando, together with Vice Gov. Alexis Castro and Provincial Treasurer Atty. Maria Teresa L. Camacho, received on the same awarding ceremony.

Fernando thanked the BLGF for the recognition and the Bulakenyos for doing their part and said that their taxes will be used to fund development programs and projects to improve the quality of life of every Filipino.

“Tayo po ay nagagalak sa sunud-sunod na parangal na ating nakakamit para sa Lalawigan ng Bulacan. Nakatutuwa pong isipin na hindi nawawalan ng saysay ang ating mga pagsisikap. Umasa po tayo na ang bawat parangal na ating tatanggapin ay gagamitin natin upang lalong pagbutihin ang pagbibigay-serbisyo sa ating mga minamahal na Bulakenyo,” the governor said.

BLGF Deputy Executive Director Flosie F. Fanlo-Tayag said that local treasurers and local government units solidify their commitments with excellent public service, transparency and integrity by embarking in the local treasury professionalization and best practices in local revenue generation.

“Believe. Believe in what you have learned. Believe that you can empower. Believe in yourself that you can surpass it all. Let’s all maintain the passion, zeal and humility towards achieving great things for local finance and the Filipino people,” Tayag said. (BISHOP JESUS “JEMBA” M. BASCO)
