“We encourage affected students to reach out to CHED-NCR for assistance and guidance,” ayon kay CHED Secretary Popoy De Vera.

Ginawa ng CHED ang hakbang na ito kasunod ng pagsuway ng SVDFCC sa kautusan na ‘i-phase out’ ang limang programa kabilang na ang Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, at Bachelor of Secondary Education.

Taong 2021, ipinag-utos ng CHED ang pag-phase-out ng mga nasabing programa ng SVDFCC dahil sa “deficiencies in their academic performance and achievement” natuklasan matapos ang masusing ebalwasyon at balidasyon.

“SVDFCC is no longer included in the list of higher education institutions authorized to offer the aforementioned degree programs,” ayon sa CHED.

“Students who were already enrolled that year will be allowed to complete their studies until graduation or transfer to other institutions” with the assistance of CHED-NCR.

“Students who entered these programs as first-year students in AY 2022-2023 will not be given a Special Order, which is a requirement for graduation,” ang sinabi ng CHED.

Tinanggihan ng CHED ang naturang request na may finality, tinukoy ang “no legal and compelling reasons to reverse the decision.”

“Although this denial of appeal was questioned by SVDFCC in other courts of competent jurisdiction, CHED has not received any injunction or relief against the implementation of its decision,”ayon kay De Vera.

Samantala, tinuran ni De Vera na magsisilbi ito bilang “red light” sa higher education institutions (HEIs) sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa para “improve the quality and performance” ng kanilang academic programs.

“We don’t tolerate this kind of behavior and performance,” ang sinabi ni De Vera.

Idinagdag pa ng CHED, ipinagpapatuloy nito ang pagsusuri sa academic performance at achievements ng degree programs upang “ensure that our students receive the quality of education they deserve.” (Daris Jose)
