ADB, napanatili ang paglago ngayong taon ng 2024; 2025 growth, pagtataya para sa Pinas

NAPANATILI ng Asian Development Bank (ADB) ang ‘economic growth outlook’ para sa Pilipinas ngayong taon at sa susunod na taon sa gitna ng inaasahan na paggaan ng inflation na susuporta sa ‘consumption at investment activities.’
Sa July edition ng flagship publication nito, Asian Development Outlook (ADO), sinabi ng ADB na ang gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast ng bansa ay nananatili sa 6.0% para sa 2024 at 6.2% para naman sa 2025.
Ito’y kaparehong growth rates na tinataya para sa Pilipinas ngayong taon at ang susunod ay sa April edition ng ADO.
“Moderating inflation and expected monetary easing in the second half of 2024 will support household consumption and investment,” ayon sa multilateral lender.
“The ADB’s forecasts fall within the lower end of the Marcos administration’s GDP target range of 6% to 7% for the year and 6.5% to 7.5% for next year,” ayon sa ulat.
Tinukoy ng ADB ang Philippines GDP growth rate na 5.7% sa first quarter ng 2024 sa likod ng “domestic demand, along with a recovery in merchandise exports.”
“Household consumption growth, while below last year’s level, remained the main contributor supported by low unemployment and remittances from overseas workers,” ang sinabi nito.
Tinuran pa ng ADB na nagpapatuloy ang public infrastructure spending upang iangat ang paglago sa nasabing panahon, habang “merchandise exports rebounded, particularly electronic products (about 60% of total exports), while services exports remained buoyant, including tourism and business process outsourcing.” (Daris Jose)
