IMMIGRATION, INILAGAY SA HEIGHTENED ALERT NGAYON HOLIDAY SEASON

INILAGAY sa heightened alert ng Bureau of Immigration ang lahat ng kanilang mga tauhan sa iba’t ibang ports of entry nitong holiday season.
Dahil dito, ipinag-utos ni Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente ang kanyang mga immigration officers na naka-deploy sa iba’t ibang international airports at seaports na magdagdag ng karagdagang pagbabantay sa mga padating at palabas na mga mananakay.
“This is to ensure that our campaign to thwart the entry of illegal aliens and prevent the departure of trafficking victims is not compromised during this Christmas season,” ayon kay Morente.
Binalaan din ni Morente ang mga sindikato ng human smuggling at human trafficking na namamantala ngayon Kapaskuhan sa kabila ng pandemiya.
“Do not even try because our officers at the airports will surely foil any attempts by these syndicates to ply their racket,” ayon sa BI chief.
Binanggit dito ni Morente ang kaso ng ilang dayuhan na nahulia sa airport sa Manila at Cebus dahil sa mga pekeng dokumento gayundin ang isang nasabat na biktima ng human trafficking sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) kung saan isang pasahero ang nagtangkang lumabas ng bansa at nagpanggap na turista gamit ang mga pekeng dokumento.
“These tricks will not work as our immigration officers are trained in passengers assessment and detecting fraudulent travel documents,” ayon pa kay Morente. (GENE ADSUARA )
