Kaso laban sa SBSI officials, ilipat sa Metro Manila mula Surigao del Norte

HINILING ng isang mambabatas sa Department of Justice na ikunsidera ang pagsasagawa ng pagdinig ng kaso laban sa mga opisyal ng SBSI officials sa Metro Manila sa halip na sa Surigao del Norte.
“I doubt very much the courts in Surigao del Norte will be able to try the cases against SBSI because of fear SBSI has sowed in that province,” pahayag pa ni House deputy minority leader Rep. Bernadette Herrera.
Pinasalamatan naman ng mambabatas ang Department of Justice at National Bureau of Investigation sa pagapatupad nito ng Child Marriage Ban Law (RA 11596) laban sa SBSI.
Hiniling din nito sa dalawang ahensiya na ikunsidera ang pagsasampa ng kasong malversation of public funds, violations of firearms laws, serious illegal detention, at terrorism kung kinakailangan.
“This alleged cult called SBSI has all the characteristics of a terrorist group,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas.
Maging aniya ang Department of Interior and Local Government at Department of Environment and Natural Resources ay dapat ding gamitin ang kanilang administrative powers laban sa SBSI.
“DILG should keep close watch over the municipalities and barangays where the SBSI wields influence,” pagtatapos ni Herrera. (Ara Romero)
