MAAARI nang mag-resume ng pagsasanay ang mga atleta na makikipaglaban o makikipagkumpetensiya sa 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Ito ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque ay sa pamamagitan ng bubble set-up upang masiguro na ligtas sila sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.
Sinabi ni Sec. Roque na araw ng Lunes nang pumayag ang Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) sa request ng Philippine Olympic Committee kaugnay sa pagpapatuloy ng pagsasanay.
“[T]he conduct of the training in a ‘bubble-type’ setting shall be made in coordination with the Regional Task Force where the training shall be conducted and the local government unit with the jurisdiction of the proposed venue,” ang nakasaad sa resolusyon ng IATF.
Ang 32nd Summer Olympics ay itinakda para ngayong taon subalit inilipat ng Hulyo 2021 dahil sa pandemiya.
Noong Setyembre, sinabi ni Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga sa United Nations General Assembly na ang kanyang bansa ay determinado na mag-host sa Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games “as proof that humanity has defeated the pandemic.”
Sinasabing wala pang gamot sa COVID-19, subalit ang mga bansang gaya ng United Kingdom, Canada at United States ay inaprubahan ang paggamit ng Pfizer-BioNTech’s experimental vaccine. (Daris Jose)
