UGNAYAN NG PSC, KAMARA PINATIBAY

WALANG problema para sa Philippine Sports Commission ang pagiging abala sa kaliwa’t kanang mga trabaho, matapos itong ipatawag ng Senate at Congress para sa serye ng hearings sa mga proposed bills sa sports.

Inimbitahan ni Senate Committee on Sports Chairman Sen. Christopher Lawrence Go para sa Philippine Boxing and Combat Sports Commission consultative hearings sa panukala nina Senador Emmanuel Pacquiao at Ramon Revilla, Jr.

Ito ay ang Senate Bills 193 at 805 na layuninng maitayo ang magkahiwalay na ahensiya ng gobyerno para sa dalawang professional combat sports.

Sina PSC Chairman William Ramirez, PSC Commissioner Charles Maxey, at Games and Amusement Board Chairman Abraham Mitra ang mga nasa resource group kasama ang mga kinatawan ng Department of Budget and Management, Social Security System, PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig Fund, Department of Health, Governance Commission for GOCCs, Elorde Promotions at muaythai.

Inesplika ni Ramirez ang iba’t ibang paraan para maresolba ang mga reklamo at kritisismo na inilatag sa Senado tulad sa travel tax exemptions at medical provisions.

“This is good we are here and discussing this because we can see how we call all work together,” bulalas niya, dinagdag na may susunod pang consultative hearings para sa implementasyon ng batas.

Ipagpapatuloy naman ang pagdinig hinggil sa panukalang batas ukol sa sports at bibigyang pag-aaral ang pagsasagawa sa nasabing batas.

Pumunta naman sa Kongreso si PSC Executive Assistant at National Training Director Marc Edward Velasco para sa House Bill 4594 ni Leyte 4th District Rep. Lucy Gomez na may akda ng batas sa komprehensibong national grassroots sports program o isabatas na Philippine National Games.

Ibig ni Gomez palalimin ang mga probisyon sa kasalukuyang batas na bumuo sa PNG na Executive Order #163, 1994 at gawin itong mas epektibong bagong pamamaraan para sa pagdiskubre ng mga bagong talento sa sports.

“Change is not always easy, but as public servants let us put in extra effort to study well and weigh effects and consequences of everything,” panapos na pahayag ng sports agency chief. “Be an agent of change for as long as you also make every effort to ensure that those changes are for the better.”

Inagapan din ni Ramirez ang oprotunidad na makausap si Senate President Vicente Sotto III at Minority Leader Senador Franklin Drilon para mapag-usapan ang iba pang programa sa sports. (REC)
