PANDEMIA. HINDI HADLANG SA KAMPANYA LABAN SA SA HUMAN TRAFFICKING- AYON SA BI

HINDI naging hadlang ang nararanasang pandemia na hidi ipagpatuloy ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang kanilang kampanya laban sa human trafficking.

“As the world observes the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons today, 30 July 2020, we, in the BI, reaffirm and declare our unwavering resolve to combat human trafficking in our ports by preventing the departure of suspected victims of this menace to our society,” pahayag ni Morente.

Sinabi pa ni Morente na bagama’t nag-lie low” din ang mga human traffickers dahil sa pagbabawal ng international travel “these syndicates will always take advantage of every opportunity that may arise to spirit their victims out of the country.”

Naniniwala si Morente na ang mga sindikato ay nas apali-paligid lang at  nag-aantay lamang ng tiyempo

“I have thus directed our port personnel to be vigilant and prepared to conduct stricter screening of departing passengers now that the government is eyeing less restrictions on outbound travel of Filipinos,” ayn kay  Morente.

Nauna ditto, nag-isyu ng statement ang BI Chief  matapos na nag-anunsiyo ang US Government na napanatili ng Pilipinas ang Tier 1 ranking noong 2019 Trafficking in Person report of the State Department.

Ibig sabihin ng Tier 1 rating ay  napanatili ng Philippine government ang minimum standard at ang patuloy nito sa kampanya para masawata ito. (GENE ADSUARA)
