NAVOTAS NAMIGAY NG BIGAS, MANOK SA 80K FAMILIES
NAMAHAGI ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Navotas ng limang kilong bigas at isang buong manok sa bawat pamilyang Navoteño bilang bahagi sa pagdiriwang ng lungsod ng ika-116 na anibersaryo ng pagkakatatag nito.
Pinangunahan nina Mayor Toby Tiangco, Congressman John Rey Tiangco at mga barangay opisyal ang unang araw ng pamimigay ng 116th Navotas Day Regalo Para sa Pamilyang Navoteño.
Nasa 14,157 mga pamilya mula sa barangays Tangos North at South ang unang nakatanggap ng naturang mga food pack.
Bumili ang pamahalaang lungsod noong Disyembre ng 80,317 packs ng bigas at manok para sa buong Navotas.
“The distribution was scheduled on January 14-16 as part of the week-long activities for Navotas Day. We deferred it to focus on the house-to-house delivery of medicines and vitamins,” ani Mayor Tiangco.
Namigay din ng paracetamol, phenylpropanolamine, at vitamin C ang pamahalaang lungsod sa 87,315 pamilyang Navoteño.
“We thank Navoteños for patiently waiting for us to bring our Navotas Day regalo to them. We also thank everyone who helped make this activity a success–from the purchase of the items to the receipt from suppliers to the delivery to each Navoteño family,” pahayag ng alkalde.
“We will strive to complete the distribution within one week so stay home, if you have nothing important to do outside, and wait for us to visit your area,” dagdag niya. (Richard Mesa)
‘No vax, no ride’ tatanggalin sa Alert Level 2
TINIYAK ng Malacañang na tatanggalin ang “No Vaccine, No Ride” policy na ipinatutupad sa National Capital Region sa sandaling ibaba sa Alert Level 2 ang NCR.
Ginawa ni Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles ang pahayag sa gitna ng mga panawagan na ibaba sa Alert Level 2 ang NCR dahil sa patuloy na pagbaba ng kaso ng COVID-19.
Hanggang sa Enero 31 iiral ang kasalukuyang Alert Level 3 sa NCR.
Sinabi ni Nograles na base sa mga ipinasang ordinansa, iiral lamang ang ‘no vax, no ride’ policy sa Alert Level 3 at mas mataas na alert level system.
“You have to go back to the ordinance. I believe the ordinances really state that the limitations or restrictions are only for Alert Level 3 and higher…So when you say– pag nag-deescalate ka you can no longer implement it,” ani Nograles.
Matatandaan na ipinatupad ng mga local government units (LGUs) ng Metro Manila ang “no vaccine, no ride” policy nang tumaas ang bilang ng may COVID-19.
Kinumpirma naman ni DOTr Undersecretary Artemio Tuazon, Jr., na ititigil ang pagpapatupad ng ‘no vaccine, no ride’ policy kapag naging Alert Level 2 na ang NCR.
“Gusto ko po sanang linawin sa lahat ng ating manonood na ang policy po, ang “no vax, no ride” policy ng DOTr under Department Order 2022-01, ay valid lang po dito sa loob ng NCR. Linawin ko lang po iyon, iyon po ay para sa NCR, dito lang po sa atin valid iyon. At valid lang po ito habang ang NCR po ay nasa Alert Level 3 or mas mataas. Kapag bumababa po ang ating alert level dito, masususpinde na po iyong polisiya,” ani Tuazon.
JAB TO JOBS: SOLUSYON PARA MAKABANGON SA PANDEMYA – MARCOS
NANINIWALA si Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard bearer Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. na mas mabilis na makababangon ang bansa kung ganap na mauunawaan ng bawat Pilipino ang kahalagahan ng pagpapabakuna laban sa Covid-19 para makamit ang ‘herd immunity’, na siya namang magbibigay daan sa tuluyang pagbangon ng ekonomiya .
Sa panayam kay Marcos sa programa ni Boy Abunda, ibinahagi niya ang ‘Jab to Jobs’ bilang isa sa mga pangunahing programa na iniisip ng UniTeam para makaahon sa kasalukuyang pandemya na nararanasan ng bansa.
“When it comes to COVID-19 I summarize it very simply. I call it ‘Jab to Jobs’. What we first have to do is to get vaccinated and we have to roll out the vaccines properly,” sabi ni Marcos.
Sa huling datos ng DOH-IATF National COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard halos 58 milyong Pilipino pa lang ang fully vaccinated na medyo malayo pa sa 70 milyon na target para makamit ang tinatawag na herd immunity.
“We have to make sure that the vaccines are effective and safe, have been handled properly. Hindi pa tayo umaabot doon sa ‘herd immunity’ kailangan talaga nating paabutin doon sa 70-75% ,” sabi niya.
Ipinaliwanag niya na dapat marating na natin ang kalagayan ng ibang bansa kung saan dahil sa bakunado na sila halos lahat ay hindi na masiyadong pinapansin ang Omicron at itinuturing na parang isang ordinaryong flu na lang.
Para kay Marcos, mahalaga rin na pasiglahin ang Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) habang patungo tayo sa ‘herd immunity’ para makapagbigay ng trabaho sa mga tao na naapektuhan ng pandemya.
Mahalaga aniya na bigyan din ng insentibo at tulong ang mga nasa MSMEs, kasama na rin ang sektor ng agrikultura.
“In my view, we do that by revitalizing the MSMEs the small businesses that comprise 95% of the businesses and 60% of our employment in the businesses, they have been very hard hit, the government can help them with the lower taxes, tax holidays, amnesty, etc. the private sector can come in with micro financing and all that,” ayon kay Marcos.
Para sa kanya hindi sila maaaring pilitin pero hindi dapat tumigil ang gobyerno na sila ay makumbinsi. Mahalaga rin aniya ang papel ng bawat Pilipino para mahikayat ang iba pa na magpabakuna para sa kapakanan ng bawat isa.
Magsayo idedepensa ang WBC belt vs Vargas
WALA munang rematch sina reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) featherweight champion Mark Magsayo at Gary Russell Jr.
Ito ay matapos ipag-utos ng WBC ang mandatory title defense ng Pinoy pug laban kay Mexican challenger Rey Vargas.
Umaasa ang ilan na magkakaroon agad ng Part 2 ang Magsayo-Russell fight.
Subalit hindi muna ito matutupad matapos umeksena si Vargas.
Galing sa matagumpay na panalo si Magsayo nang itarak nito ang majority decision win kay Russell para maagaw ang WBC belt noong Linggo sa Atlantic City sa New Jersey.
Hindi pa man nag-iinit ang korona kay Magsayo, tila sasalang na agad ito sa pukpukang ensayo upang paghandaan ang kanyang susunod na laban.
Hindi naman na bago si Magsayo sa mga Mexican boxers.
Sa katunayan, ilang Mexican fighters na ang pinangalanan nito matapos ang kanyang kampeonato.
“I want to fight Mexicans, they are great fighters, warriors. I would like to fight Leo Santa Cruz or Luis Nery,” ani Magsayo.
Limang Mexican boxers na ang nabiktima ni Magsayo sa kanyang boxing career.
Sa kabilang banda, mataas ang respeto ni Vargas kay Magsayo.
Nasaksihan nito ang bagsik ng kamao ni Magsayo sa laban nito kay Russell.
“Magsayo is a wider fighter, but he is smarter. Yes he has more strength than Gary Russell, but Magsayo showed a lot of intelligence in this fight,” ani Vargas.
IATF, kasalukuyang naka-monitor sa pagtaas ng Covid -19 sa mga lungsod at lalawigan sa labas ng NCR
KASALUKUYANG naka-monitor ang Inter-agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Diseases sa ilang lungsod at lalawigan sa labas ng National Capital Region (NCR) dahil sa pagtaas ng coronavirus (COVID-19) cases na inoobserbahan ngayon sa mga nasabing lugar.
Ang pahayag na ito ni acting Presidential spokesperson at Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles ay bunsod na rin ng expiration sa darating na Enero 31 ng alert levels sa iba’t ibang lugar sa bansa.
Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni Nograles na kasalukuyang naka-monitor ang IATF sa Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, at Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Tinukoy din nito ang mga lugar na gaya ng:

“While cases in NCR, and in fact some areas in Region IV-A and Region III, are slowing down in terms of the growth rate of COVID-19, we’re seeing higher growth rates in those areas,” ani Nograles.
Ani Nograles, ang task force, sa pamamagitan ng regional IATFs, ay palaging mino-monitor ang mga bilang kada rehiyon at mahigpit na nakikipag-ugnayan sa local government units (LGUs).
Upang matugunan ang pagsirit ng COVID-19 cases, sinabi ni Nograles na ang regional IATFs ay inatasan na tiyakin ang pagtaas ng bed capacities at siguruhin na tanging ang severe at critical cases ay nasa ospital.
“What we want to do is increase the dedicated COVID beds in those areas para hindi mag-breach ng 70 percent ang (so that they will not breach 70 percent in terms of) bed utilization. So we have to increase the number of beds,” ani Nograles.
“You have to make sure that your isolation facilities are makakatanggap ng mga moderate, mild cases. We’re also beefing up in telemedicine, teleconsult, to prepare yung home isolation,” dagdag na pahayag nito.
Aniya, ang isa pang opsyon ay magdeklara ng granular lockdowns at palakasin ang triage o referral system na magdedetermina kung ang pasyente ay kailangan na ilipat sa ospital, isolation facility, o isailalim sa home quarantine.
Malakanyang, itinangging may kamay sa pag-takeover ni Villar sa ABS-CBN frequencies
SINABI ng Malakanyang na humingi lang ng guidance ang National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) sa Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) ukol sa pag-a-assigned ng “available and unused frequencies” at walang direktang kamay ang OES sa pagbibigay ng frequency ng ABS-CBN sa Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS).
Ang pahayag na ito ni acting Presidential spokesperson at Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles ay makaraang iulat nito na pinayagan na ng NTC ang AMBS ni dating Senate President Manny Villar na i-air over ang Channel 2 at Channel 16 hanggang 2023 “for simulcast purposes”.
Ang dalawang channels o frequencies ay dati ng ginamit ng ABS-CBN bago pa sila puwersahang mag- “off the air” noong 2020.
Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni Nograles na walang pangalan ng kahit na anumang indibidwal, kumpanya o entity ang nabanggit nang magpunta ang NTC sa OES.
“When the NTC went to the OES, it was only to seek guidance on the authority to assign available and unused frequencies,” ayon kay Nograles.
“There was no mention of any name, whatsoever,” dagdag na pahayag nito.
Ganito rin aniya ang naging kaso nang lumapit ang NTC sa Department of Justice (DOJ).
“When NTC went to the DOJ, it was purely asking a legal question. There was no mention of any names of anyone or any private company or any entity,” ani Nograles.
“It was a pure, legal question asking for a legal opinion from the Department of Justice regarding authority to allocate unused and available frequencies and the power to issue provisional authorities. When DOJ gave its legal opinion, it was just purely answering a legal question,” aniya pa rin.
Sa huli naman aniya ay ang NTC pa rin ang magde-desisyon.
“This is just purely questions. It’s really up to the NTC based on their rules and regulations and based on existing laws,” ani Nograles. (Daris Jose)
MANILA LGU, HANDA NANG BAKUNAHAN ANG MGA BATANG 5 – 11 ANYOS KONTRA COVID-19
HANDA na ang lokal na pamahalaang lungsod ng Maynila na mamahagi ng bakuna kontra COVID-19 para sa mga menor de edad mula 5 hanggang 11 taong gulang sakaling maglabas na ng “go signal” ang Department of Health at ang National Task Force Against Covid-19 na inaasahang ipatupad sa susunod na linggo.
“Nakahanda na po ang inyong pamahalaang lungsod sa pagbabakuna ng ating mga kabataan na may edad 5 hanggang 11 taong gulang. We are just awaiting word from the DOH as to our schedule in Manila, kung kailan nila kami bibigyan ng mga bakuna para sa mga bata,” saad ni Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso sa kanyang “special report” .
Una nang inanunsiyo ng NTF na ang pagbabakuna para sa mga nasabing edad ay magsisimula sa Pebrero 4.
Gayunman, hindi pa tiyak ni Domagoso kung gaano karaming mga bata ang maaaring tanggapin kada araw dahil ito ay depende sa mga supply ng bakuna, partikular na binuo para sa pangkat ng edad na ito, na magmumula sa DOH.
Muling hinimok ng 47-anyos na presidential aspirant ang mga magulang at tagapag-alaga ng mga bata sa loob ng pinapayagang edad na maiparehistro sila sa pamamagitan ng online vaccine registration site ng lokal na pamahalaan na https://manilacovid19vaccine.ph.
“So huwag po tayong mangamba. We were assured that the vaccine would be safe. Mas delikado kung walang bakuna,” giit pa ni Domagoso.
Habang hinihintay ng pamahalaang lungsod ang go signal mula sa NTF, sinabi ni Domagoso na patuloy pa rin ang pagbabakuna sa target na populasyon, kabilang na ang mga menor de edad na edad 12 hanggang 17 taong gulang.
Nabatid kay Domagoso, sa pinakahuling ulat ay nasa kabuuang 248,274 na menor de edad ang nabakunahan. Sa mga ito, 135,124 na menor de edad ang nakakuha ng kanilang mga unang dose habang kabuuang 113,150 ang ganap na nabakunahan. (GENE ADSUARA)
‘Scream’ 2022 Set To Surpass 2011’s Scre4m’s Entire US Box Office Record
THE US box office tally for Scream 2022 is already set to surpass the entire domestic take of its 2011 predecessor Scream 4.
More than a decade on from the previous sequel and seven years after Scream co-creator Wes Craven passed away, the game-changing slasher series is once again making waves at the box office, despite the now typical smaller audience numbers due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fans have been incredibly eager to see the film, which was directed by filmmaking duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
While the first Scream film was met with somewhat unexpected box office and critical success, each subsequent film has produced slightly diminishing returns. Surprisingly, despite Scream 3 being widely regarded as the worst of the franchise, its international gross does not constitute the series’ lowest box office numbers.
That rather unfortunate honor goes to Scre4m – a fact that strikes many Scream fans as grossly unfair considering that it is often cited as being a vast improvement compared to the previous movie. Screenwriter Kevin Williamson had sat out for Scream 3, making it the only film in the series besides Scream 2022 he didn’t pen. The resulting disappointment that many Scream fans consider the third film to be was made up for when Williamson returned for Scre4m, but somehow that wasn’t enough for big box office returns.
Now with the success that Scream 2022 is experiencing, it seems the film is also set to eclipse Scre4m – at least in terms of US domestic box office numbers.
According to Variety, Scream’s positive response has resulted in an impressive first week for the film. The real challenge now for the movie is maintaining that success through its second weekend, where stiff competition from Spider-Man: No Way Home remains a constant.
Yet regardless of whether or not Scream can outpace Spider-Man, it does look as though the film will triumph over Scre4m’s entire $38.2 million domestic box office run by weekend’s end.
Scream 2022 earned $34 million in its opening week and is currently projected to add another $11.7 million to this tally over the weekend. That will certainly put it well ahead of Scre4m, though it remains uncertain if the new sequel can continue to build on its formidable box office presence in the days and weeks to come before its streaming release on February 28.
Horror films typically perform strongly in their opening week, only to steadily decline in subsequent weeks. This is arguably even more likely with a film like Scream due to its highly secretive plots that can easily be spoiled, dissuading other would-be viewers from making the trek to theaters and waiting instead for the streaming release.
For Scream fans, however, the box office results ultimately don’t matter all that much. Ever since confirmation of a fifth entry in the series first became official, the biggest hope was that it would be worthy of everything that Craven had worked so hard to establish over the years.
While the franchise’s legacy may have not always lived up to the brilliance of the first entry, the fact that Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett have potentially kicked off a new era with Scream 2022 means more to any die-hard Scream fan than huge box office numbers ever could.
Scream was theatrically released in the United States on January 14, 2022, by Paramount Pictures. The film has grossed over $86 million and was praised by critics as honoring Craven’s legacy and offering thoughtful meta-commentary on horror films, with some calling it the best of the Scream sequels.

NAIS ni Kapuso Soul Balladeer Garrett Bolden na sumulat ng songs para kay Julie Anne San Jose.
Sobrang bait daw kasi si Julie at may naiisip na raw siyang song na bagay dito.
“If I were given a chance, I would really love to write a song for her. Nung umpisa pa lang po, ‘Clasher’ pa lang po ako we really see her us someone na talagang pinaghirapan n’ya yung career n’ya.
“Sobrang multi-talented po niya and above all that napakabait po niyang tao. Gina-guide niya rin po kami.
“Sometimes when I write a song, medyo natapos na po, pinaparinig ko sa kanya. Humihingi po ako ng advice. Tinutulungan niya po kami. Hindi lang naman po ako, kumbaga kami pong mga baguhan sa industriya,” sey ni Garrett.
Sa January 28 i-release ang bagong single ni Garrett na “Pwede Pa Ba” under GMA Music. Tungkol ito sa relasyon na nauwi sa hiwalayan. Pero may hope na mabuo ulit ang relasyon kahit hindi na puwede.
Sa totoong buhay, walang girlfriend si Garrett at isa sa wish niya ngayong taon ay mahanap na niya ang tamang babae para sa kanya.

Nagsimula na si Mama Renee na mag-train ng mga future beauty pageant contestant. Kung ano ang naging training niya noon kay Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, ibinabahagi niya ito sa mga baguhan.
Sa kaalaman naman tungkol sa pag-alaga sa sarili at pagsagot sa Q&A, sina Desiree at Patti na ang bahala roon kasama sina Teng Roma at lawyer JV Salud. Ang mag-train naman sa pasarela/catwalk skills ay si Ian Mendajar at sa styling ay si Dom Moreno. Si Kline Potente ang uupong business manager.
Sunud-sunod ang beauty pageants sa pagpasok ng summer kaya in full swing na ang TCI sa pagtanggap ng mga trainees.

SINILANG na noong January 21 ng surrogate nila Priyanka Chopra at Nick Jonas ang first baby nila.
Sa kanilang Instagram, may joint announcement sila sa pagsilang ng kanilang pinakahihintay na sanggol.
“We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family.”
Humiling ng break sa social media sina Nick at Priyanka para ma-enjoy nila ang kanilang baby. Kaya wala pang bagong post ang mag-asawa sa Twitter at IG.
Nag-promise sila na sa pagbalik nila sa social media, ise-share nila ang hitsura ng kanilang baby.
