Hindi babawiin ang Best Actor award para sa ‘King Richard’: WILL SMITH, tinanggap ang desisyon ng Academy na i-ban sa lahat ng events for ten years
TIYAK na maraming beki netizens ang aabangan sa underwear model-turned-actor na si Juan Carlos Galano sa Kapuso mini-series na Raya Sirena.
Gaganap si Juan Carlos bilang si Bulan o Sun God na siyang may hawak ng katotohanan kung ano ba ang tunay na pagkatao ni Raya, played by teen actress Sofia Pablo.
Originally, si Juan Carlos ang dapat na ka-love triangle ng AlFia loveteam sa Raya Sirena. Kaso noong mag-look test daw ang dalawa ay nagmukhang tito ni Sofia si Juan Carlos.
“Hindi nag-compliment ang looks namin ni Sofia. Kasi batang-bata talaga siya at mukha akong tito niya. Kaya binigay sa akin yung role na Bulan at yung original role ko ay binigay kay Saviour Ramos, na mas bagay silang tingnan ni Sofia,” sey ni Juan Carlos.
Pinagkakaguluhan sa social media si Juan Carlos dahil sa pag-display ng abs nito sa ini-endorse na underwear brand. Inamin niya na may mga natatanggap siyang indecent proposals na kanyang tinatanggihan.
“Maraming mga ganun. Usually I don’t really mind it kasi message request ang mga yun, Parang ang diskarte nila, they would offer you work. Tapos, yun pala, ang kasunod, ‘How much?’ Sinasagot ko na lang ng ‘Sorry, I’m not open for business.’ Ganun. I don’t do that,” diin pa niya.
Nirerespeto raw ni Juan Carlos ang LGBT community dahil marami siyang mga kaibigan na beki. Pero hindi raw siya para sa isang same-sex relationship.
“Hindi sa conservative. LGBT community can consider me an ally. Kasi, sobrang dami kong kaibigan na nasa spectrum ng LGBT. And what I would say, as long as masaya sila, lalo na sa same-sex union or relationship. Kasi ako, nakikita ko, masaya yung mga kaibigan ko lalo na kapag nakita na nila yung partner nila for life.
“Kung tatanungin, kung adventurous ba ako and gender fluid ba ako? Ahh, I would digress. Kumbaga, it’s just not for me. I love the gay community. Pero hindi talaga ako open to being in such relationship.”

PINAKILALA na ni Donita Rose ang lalakeng nagpapatibok ng kanyang puso na si Felson Palad.
Noong nuna ay tiinago pa ni Donita ang identity ng kanyang karelasyon ngayon. Ngayon sa latest post niya sa Instagram, kitang-kita na ang buong mukha nito.
“The grass seems greener these days, or is it just me? After my last post yesterday, this guy called to say he posted these photos. When I saw them, I laughed so hard and asked, ‘Why this as an introduction photo’?
“His response: ‘Para habang tumatagal pumopogi ako.’ (So as time goes by, I’ll become more handsome.’ I almost died laughing. That’s @felsonpalad for you peeps,” caption pa ni Donita.
Pinost din ni Felson sa kanyang IG account ang mga photos with Donita at nilagyan niya ng caption na: “Life is short, we need to believe and know Jesus and fall in love with a person who loves more the Lord than you.”
Isang music artist si Felson at pareho sila ni Donita na madalas um-attend ng church services.
Sa IG account ni Felson, makikitang madalas siyang mag-show sa iba’t ibang venues at nakasama niya ang ilang Filipino performers. Makikita rin na mahilig mag-perform si Felson sa mga nursing home para aliwin ang mga elderly patients doon.

MABILIS na tinanggap ni Will Smith ang desisyon ng AMPAS or Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science na i-ban siya sa lahat ng events ng Academy for ten years.
Ibig sabihin ay hindi siya puwedeng dumalo sa anumang malaki o maliit na okasyon ng Academy.
“I accept and respect the Academy’s decision,” mabilis na tugon ng aktor pagkatapos nitong matanggap ang hatol ng Academy sa naging reckless behavior niya sa comedian na si Chris Rock sa live ceremony ng Oscar Awards noong nakaraang March 27.
Ayon sa Academy: “The Board of Governors has decided, for a period of 10 years, from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events or programs in person or virtually, including but not limited to the Academy Awards.
“We want to express our deep gratitude to Mr. Rock for maintaining his composure under extraordinary circumstances. We also want to thank our hosts, nominees, presenters and winners for their poise and grace during our telecast.”
Hindi raw babawiin ng Academy ang napanalunan niyang best actor award para sa pelikulang King Richard. Paliwanag ng Academy, binigay daw ng co-actors niya ang parangal na iyon at hindi raw nila iyon puwedeng bawiin.
Ginawa pang example ang mga nanalo ng Oscars na may pending cases na hindi naman binawi tulad ng film director na si Roman Polanski na nanalo bilang best director for The Pianist in 2003 kahit na may kaso itong sexual abuse at unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor sa Amerika.
At ang Miramax producer na si Harvey Weinstein na nanalong best pictures ang mga pelikula niyang Shakespeare In Love (1999) at Chicago (2003) kahit nahatulan ito ng 23 years in prison sa kasong rape in the third degree.

Seguridad sa May 9 polls, ikinakasa na
IKINAKASA na ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP) at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang seguridad sa gaganaping halalan sa Mayo 9 sa bansa.
Nitong Biyernes ay nagsagawa ng Joint Command Conference sa AFP Commissioned Officers Club sa Camp Aguinaldo sina AFP Chief Gen. Andres Centino, PNP Chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos, PCG Commandant Admiral Artemio Abu at COMELEC Chairman Saidamen Balt Pangarungan.
Ayon kay Col. Jory Baclor, Chief ng AFP-Public Information Office, pinag-usapan sa nasabing joint command conference ang deployment ng vote counting machines, official ballots, mga kagamitan sa eleksiyon, supplies at iba pang paraphernalias ng Comelec.
Nagbigay din ng updates ang AFP, PNP sa mga lugar na mahigpit na babantayan laban sa mga armadong grupo na posibleng manabotahe sa eleksiyon.

Francis Ford Coppola Approaches Christian Bale To Star In His Upcoming Movie ‘Megalopolis’
ACCORDING to Robert Duvall, Francis Ford Coppola has approached Christian Bale to star in his upcoming movie, Megalopolis.
Coppola, director of The Godfather movies, Apocalypse Now, and Bram Stoker’s Dracula, is one of the most awarded and iconic filmmakers of all time. Bale is an Academy Award-winning actor known for his work in The Dark Knight, American Psycho, Ford v Ferrari, and many other films. Duvall’s acting career spans 70 years and he knows Coppola well, acting in three of his movies.
Coppola is working on a new film titled Megalopolis, which he describes as a Roman epic set in a fictional utopian New York City. Despite being such a well-known director, Coppola has reported having difficulty finding outside funding sources for his latest projects, so he is planning on financing the $120 million movie mostly by himself.
Since the film was announced, rumors have been circulating about who Coppola is going to cast in Megalopolis. While no cast has been confirmed, Cate Blanchett, Oscar Isaac, Forest Whitaker, Jessica Lange, Zendaya (star of Euphoria), Michelle Pfeiffer, and Jon Voight have all been discussed as possibilities.
In an interview with The Gate, Duvall states that Coppola is interested in casting Bale as the lead in Megalopolis. Bale and Duvall worked together in The Pale Blue Eye, Netflix’s upcoming Gothic horror film. Coppola himself has not confirmed this information.
Here is what Duvall had to say about Bale’s potential casting: “Wonderful young actor. And in fact, I think Coppola approached him to play the lead in his new big movie…”
Duvall’s statement could possibly indicate that some of the actors previously rumored to be affiliated with the project are no longer able to be involved. For example, it’s possible Isaac is too busy filming Dune: Part 2 to take on a new role – although his character died in the first film, there may be flashback sequences. In general, many of these actors already have a lot on their plates, so depending on when they start filming Megalopolis, a lot could shift in terms of casting.
If Bale does end up being cast in Megalopolis, it could certainly bode well for Coppola’s new film. Since Bale is known for fully transforming himself to embody whatever role he’s playing, it seems his acting style would lend itself well to Coppola’s vision for Megalopolis.
While Coppola has not released an official production start date, he’s stated in past interviews that he hopes to start filming in fall 2022, so hopefully, more information regarding Bale’s potential involvement with Megalopolis will be released soon. (source: screenrant.com)

Libreng sakay sa PUVs, aarangkada na
AARANGKADA na ngayong Lunes (Abril 11) ang libreng sakay sa pampasaherong sasakyan sa pagpapatupad ng service contracting program ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
Gayunman, ayon kay LTFRB executive director Maria Kristina Cassion na bagama’t sisimulan na bukas ang naturang programa ito ay magiging gradual pa lamang at hindi pa sakop ang ibang ruta. Partikular itong sisimulan sa Metro Manila.
Niliwanag pa ni Cassion na ito ay dahil sa may iba pang passenger vehicle operators ang hindi pa nakakakumpleto sa requirements na itinakda para dito ng ahensiya.
Sa ilalim ng naturang program magkakaloob ng libreng sakay sa mga commuters sa loob ng nasa 45 hanggang 60 araw depende sa rehiyon.
Nakapaloob din dito na ang mga operator sa mga pampasaherong sasakyan, gayundin ang mga drivers na makikiisa dito ay tatanggap ng one-time payout at weekly payments depende sa bilang ng kilometro na natakda ng pampasaherong sasakyan kapalit naman ng libreng sakay na ibibigay nila sa mga pasahero.
Ang EDSA bus carousel route ang isa sa unang magbibigay ng libreng sakay.
Nasa P7 bilyon ang itinakdang budget para sa programa para sa 13,000 hanggang sa 15,000 PUVs sa may 1,000 ruta sa buong bansa.
Ilang LGU na rin ang nagpatupad ng service contracting program o libreng sakay sa mga commuters upang mapagaan ang pagparoon at parito ng mga pasahero sa kanilang destinasyon nang walang gastos.
