DOTr: Paggamit ng automated fare collection system sa lahat ng transport systems pinagaaralan

PINAG-AARALAN ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang paggamit ng automated fare collection system (AFCS) sa lahat ng pampublikong transportasyon.

 

 

 

Tinatayang gagastos ang pamahalaan ng P4.5 billion para sa proyektong nasabi kung saan ang mga pasahero sa mga buses, jeepneys at lahat ng rail lines kasama na rin ang air services ay maaaring gugamit ng debit at credit cards bilang kanilang pambayad sa pamasahe.

 

 

 

“We have to finalize the feasibility study that will be submitted to NEDA, which is the final stage. I think in the next three months, we can discuss it with NEDA already. In one-and-a-half to two years, you can use credit cards in public transportation without hassle,” wika ni DOTr undersecretary Cesar Chavez.

 

 

 

Inaasahan ng pamahalaan na kanilang mailulungsad ang AFCS sa susunod na taon. Maaring gamitin ang iba’t ibang uri ng credit cards tulad ng Mastercard at Visa. Ang pamahalaan ang siyang magiging mayari ng housing payment scheme.

 

 

 

Kasama rin ang Beep card sa nasabing payment network at ang paggamit nito ay papalawakin pa sa ibang transport units.

 

 

 

Ang Beep card ay produkto ng AF Payments Inc. na isang consortium sa pagitan ng Ayala Group at First Pacific Group na siyang ginagamit bilang isang stored value ticket sa lahat ng rail lines na pag-mamayari ng pamahalaan.

 

 

 

Hinihikayat ng DOTr sa pamumuno ng bagong DOTr Secretary Bautista ang pag-gamit ng stored value tickets upang maiwasan ang mahabang pila sa mga estasyon ng rail lines lalo na kung rush hours.

 

 

 

Inutusan ni Bautista ang mga rail managers na pag-aralan kung paano mabibigyan ng discounts ang mga pasahero na gumagamit ng Beep cards.

 

 

 

Naging madali para sa DOTr noong pandemya ang paglipat ng transport sector sa paggamit ng digital payments upang mabawasan ang face-to-face transactions.

 

 

 

“The use of technology-based and data driven systems also resulted in reduced processing time and efficient delivery of services,” dagdag ni Chavez.

 

 

 

Noong nakaraang taon, ang DOTr at Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) ay lumagda sa isang kasunduan para sa pilot testing ng AFCS sa mga multiple transport units.

 

 

 

Pinatupad rin ng DOTr ang paggamit ng contactless system para sa mga toll booths ng SLEX at NLEX sa pamamagitan ng RFID tags Autosweep at Easytrip. LASACMAR
