Air assets ng gobyerno, ipinag-utos ni PBBM na gamitin para makapaghatid ng tulong sa mga apektado ng lindol

KAAGAD na ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na gamitin ang air assets ng gobyerno para mabilis na mahatiran ng pagkain ang mga apektadong residente

Ang air assets ay isa sa mga pangunahing kailangan ng mga tinamaan ng lindol.

Sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na kailangan ang mabilis na paghahatid ng suplay ng tubig at pagkain at maging ang tulong pinansiyal na dapat maibigay sa mga residenteng apektado ng malakas na paglindol.

Sa kabilang dako, layon din ng Punong Ehekutibo na matiyak na ang mga nasa malalayong lugar na mahirap hatiran ng tulong ay maaabot sa pamamagitan ng air assets.

Sa kabilng dako, ilan naman din sa naging direktiba ng Chief Executive partikular sa DPWH ay mabilis sanang mabuksan ang mga lansangan habang dapat din aniyang unahin sa pag-iinspeksiyon ang mga ospital at mga health centers tsaka na lamang isunod ang mga government buildings at mga kabahayan.

Samantala, nanawagan naman Pangulo sa National Government na makipag-ugnayan sa mga lokal na pamahalaan para maiwasan ang pagkukulang o pag-uulit ng mga kailangang tulong ng mga naapektuhan ng nangyaring kalamidad. (Daris Jose)

National budget para sa rehabilitasyon at restoration ng mga public infrastructure suportado ng Kamara

SUPORTADO ng Kamara ang fund requirements sa national budget para sa rehabilitasyon at restoration ng mga public infrastructure sa mga probinsiyang apektado ng magnitude 7 na lindo sa Northern Luzon.

Pahayag ito ni Speaker Martin Romualdez kasunod na rin sa pagbisita nina Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, Senadora Imee Marcos at iba pang mataas na opisyal sa mga komunidad at biktima ng lindol sa Abra.

Una nang isinuwestiyon ng senadora ang paglalaan ng restoration funds at pagbuo ng ahensiya sa ilalim ng Office of the Presidenlugar na tinamaan ng kalamidad.

“Mr. President, on the part of the House, we shall support the good senator’s proposal here owing to the fact that we’ve always been looking for best practices, and FEMA or even the AFAD in Turkey are great models for best practices for these protocols,” ani Romualdez.

Tinukoy ng Speaker ang Federal Emergency Management Authority ng United States at Turkish counterpart nito.

“We shall also join the good senator from Ilocos Norte on her call to support the budgetary requirements. For the restoration of the heritage and cultural sites as well…as the various infrastructures in the situation report,” dagdag ni Romuealdez.

Gagawin nila aniya ito sa pakikipag-koordinasyon sa mga representante at local officials ng apektadong probinsiya.

Umapela rin ito ng tulong ara sa mga biktima ng lindol.

Hinikayat din nito ang mga kasamahang mambabatas na magsagawa ng sarili nilang damage assessment sa kanilang lugar bilang paghahanda sa susunod na budget hearings. (Ara Romero)

Mga miyembro at pensioners na apektado ng lindol, maaaring mag-avail ng emergency loan mula sa GSIS

MAAARING mag-avail ng emergency loan ang mga miyembro ng state-run pension fund na Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) na apektado matapos tumama ang magnitude 7 earthquake sa Abra at naramdaman sa ilang bahagi ng Luzon kabilang sa Metro Manila.

Ayon kay GSIS president at general manager Wick Veloso, titiyakin nila na ang mga miyembro at pensioners ay makakatanggap ng financial assistance at nakikipag-ugnayan na rin sila sa lahat ng public entities na apektado ng lindol para suriin kung may mga pinsala sa government properties para makapag-calim ng insuramce mula sa GSIS.

Aniya, naglaan ang GSIS ng P5.4 billion para sa emergency loan program ngayong taon.

Ang mga GSIS members na may existing emergency loan balance ay maaring makahiram ng hanggang P40,000 para mabayaran ang kanilang previous emergency loan balance at makakatanggap pa rin ng P20,000.

Samantala, ang mga mayroong existing emergency loan naman ay maaaring mag-apply para sa P20,000 loan amount gayundin ang pensioners.

Maaaring bayaran ang naturang emergency loan ng 36 monthly installments na may 6% interest rate.

Ang mga kwalipikado para sa emergency loan ay ang mga miyembro na nasa active service at walang leave of absence without pay, may tatlong buwan na binayarang premiums sa loob ng anima na buwan, walang pending administrative o criminal case at may net take-home pay na hindi bababa sa P5000 matapos na makaltas ang required monthly obligations.

TATLONG Filipino actors ang mga bida sa Romanian film na To The North at magku-compete ito sa Orizzonti section ng 2022 Venice Film Festival.

Ang Love You Stranger actor na si Soliman Cruz ang bida sa To The North na tungkol sa isang religious Filipino sailor na si Joel na sakay ng isang transatlantic ship na nadiskubre ang isang Romanian stowaway na si Dimitri played by German-Romanian actor Nico Becker.

Kasama sa cast ay ang Filipino actors na sina Bart Guingona at Noel Sto. Domingo.

Ayon sa film synopsis: “Joel, after seeing that Dimitri has a Bible with him, begins to play a dangerous game involving his crew, his faith in God, as well as an innocent man’s life.

“To The North, written and directed by Romania’s Mihai Mincan, is a co-production involving film outfits from the country and its neighboring France, Greece, Bulgaria, and Czech Republic.

“To The North” was announced Tuesday (Manila time) as one 18 entries in Venice Film Festival’s Orizzonti section, described as an “international competition dedicated to films that represent the latest aesthetic and expressive trends.”

Mag-compete din sa naturang film festival ang pelikula ni Lav Diaz na Kapag Wala Na Ang Mga Alon na bida si John Lloyd Cruz.

NATAPOS na ni The Clash Season 4 champion Mariane Osabel ang kanyang kursong Environmental Engineering mula sa Mindanao State University.

Sa kanyang Instagram, pinost ng Kapuso singer ang graduation photoshoot niya.

Masayang-masaya si Mariane dahil pangako niya sa kanyang pamilya na kahit maging busy siya sa kanyang career bilang singer, hindi niya pababayaan ang kanyang pag-aaral. Natanggap na niya ang kanyang diploma sa isang in person ceremony.

Nataon naman na sumabay ang pag-drop ng single niya under GMA Music na “Pira-Piraso” sa pag-graduate niya sa kolehiyo.

GUSTONG patunayan ng Latin Music Queen na si Shakira na inosente siya sa inaakusa sa kanyang Spanish tax fraud charges kaya n-reject nito ang inalok sa kanyang plea deal at nais niyang humarap sa korte.

Inakusahan ang ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer of defrauding Spanish tax office na nagkakahaga ng 14.5 million euros ($14.7 million) sa naging income niya between 2012 and 2014.

Ayon sa legal team ni Shakira, lumipat sa Spain noong 2011 ang singer noong nakarelasyon nito ang FC Barcelona defender na si Gerard Pique, pero ang official tax residency niya ay sa the Bahamas until 2015. Magkakaroon lang daw ng agreement kapag nasimulan na ang tiral sa Barcelona court.

Dagdag pa lawyers ng singer: “Shakira is absolutely certain of her innocence and doesn’t accept this deal with the prosecutor and has decided to let the case go to court. Our client is confident that her innocence would be proven in court.”

Sinabi ng 45-year-old singer na may naganap na “complete violation of her rights” and “abusive methods” by the prosecutor.

“The prosecutor was insisting on claiming money earned during my international tours and the show ‘The Voice’ on which I was a judge in the United States when I was not yet resident in Spain,” diin pa ni Shakira.

Nasa The Voice si Shakira between 2013 and 2014. Lumipat siya sa Spain noong 2015 at bayad daw lahat ng tax obligations niya sa taong iyon.

“I paid 17.2 million euros to the Spanish tax authorities and I have no debt to the treasury for many years,” paniguro pa ng singer.

Noong 2014 kumita si Shakira mula sa kanyang international tours at hindi siya tumira for more than six months sa Spain, kaya hindi raw siya resident under tax law.

AARON TAYLOR-JOHNSON, BRIAN TYREE HENRY ARE THE TWIN ASSASSINS IN “BULLET TRAIN”

AARON Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron, upcoming Kraven The Hunter) and Brian Tyree Henry (Marvel’s The Eternals) star as lethal assassins called The Twins in Columbia Pictures’ new action-thriller Bullet Train, in Philippine cinemas August 3.

Bullet Train brings together seven characters, all with connected, conflicting, and at times, confusing objectives. “Fate brings these people onto this train, and their energies combine in the craziest, most gonzo way possible,” says producer Kelly McCormick.

The Twins, Tangerine (Taylor-Johnson) and Lemon (Henry), aren’t actually twins. (No kiddin’.) In fact, though they are seemingly a disparate pair, they are lifelong brothers in arms. Tangerine is a Savile Row-suited killer with slicked back hair and flashy gold jewelry – not exactly subtle. Lemon, meanwhile, possesses a guileless demeanor and moral compass that he has honed entirely from the lessons from “Thomas the Tank Engine” – but he is nevertheless just as talented a hitman as his twin.

Taylor-Johnson and Henry say that their offscreen chemistry drove the onscreen relationship (and vice versa). “Tangerine and Lemon go hand in hand and really rely on each other,” says Taylor-Johnson. “There’s a love between them, a deeply rooted partnership that goes back years and years. That kind of bond needs to be supported by an instant connection and chemistry for us both, and Brian brought the energy, fire, and passion every day. Henry, well-known for his roles in The Eternals and Atlanta, says he was able to tap into the fun odd-couple nature of their characters’ pairing. “Lemon is incredibly genuine. He is the most genuine, childlike, joyous psychopath you’ll ever meet in your life,” Henry says. “He enters a room and you can’t miss him, but at the same time, he has a real ease about him. That’s why pairing him with Aaron’s Tangerine is so perfect. Tangerine is crazy, and there’s a finesse that Aaron has when he steps into the role. He’s that fine wine of sociopaths. The two of us together is so eclectic and fun and we’re just the oddest pairing, but at the same time, it works so well.”

Halos 13k katao apektado ng lindol sa Abra

LALO pang dumami ang mga naapektuhan ng magnitude 7.0 na lindol mula sa hilagang bahagi ng Luzon, bagay na nag-iwan na ng apat na patay at mahigit isang daang sugatan.

Ito ang pahayag ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) patungkol sa pagyanig nitong Miyerkules na siyang nagmula sa epicenter na Tayum, Abra.

Mahigit 800 aftershocks, naitala matapos ang 7.0 magnitude na lindol

Nakapagtala na ang Phivolcs ng 803 na aftershocks, isang araw matapos ang mapaminsalang 7.0 magnitude na lindol.

Sa nasabing bilang, 163 ang natunton na ang plotted, habang 22 naman ang naramdaman ng mga residente.

Sa mga 131 na injured, 114 na ang kumpirmado habang 17 sa kanila ang “for validation” pa. Halos lahat ng kumpirmadong mga sugatan ay galing sa Cordillera habang isa sa kanila ay galing sa Cagayan Valley.

Papalo naman sa 857 kabahayan ang sinasabing bahagyang napinsala, habang 11 dito ang wasak na wasak. Lahat dito ay nagmula sa rehiyon ng CAR.

Aabot naman sa 17 imprastruktura ang napinsala mula sa Rehiyon ng Ilocos, Central Luzon at Metro Manila. Tinatayang aabot ang halaga ng pinsala sa P33.8 milyon sa Region 1 pa lang.

Ayon sa ulat ng dzBB, nakarating na si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa Vigan City, Ilocos Sur ngayong umaga upang bisitahin ang mga lubhang naapektuhan ng lindol. si Marcos Jr. ay dating gobernador at kinatawan ng Ilocos Norte.

Kahapon pa lang ay nasa probinsya na ng Abra si Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo upang magpaabot ng tulong sa mga nasalanta ng lindol.

“Nagpalabas na po tayo ng inisyal na P10 milyon cash para sa mga apektado ng lindol at dini-deliver na po ng [Department of Social Welfare and Development Province Office ang mahigit 1,000 food boxes para sa mga evacuues,” wika ni Tulfo kahapon.

“Parating pa po ang higit 10,000 [food] packs mula sa CAR Regional Warehouse… and additional cash assistance.”

Pero babala ni Phivolcs Dir. Renato Solidum, posible pang tumagal ang mga pagyanig hanggang sa susunod na buwan.

Gayunman, mas mahihina na ang mararanasan kumpara sa main quake na 7.0 magnitude.

Pinapayuhan naman ang mga residente sa high risk areas na huwag nang makipagsapalaran para manatili sa kanilang mga bahay, dahil kahit ang mga hindi bumagsak sa inisyal na pagyanig, maaari pa rin itong bumigay kung tuloy-tuloy ang aftershocks. (Daris Jose)

LRTA blacklisted contractors

NAKA-BLACKLIST ang pitong (7) contractors ng Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) dahil nabigo nilang tapusin ang rehabilitation works sa tamang panahon at iba pang trabaho na siyang naman pinahinto ng Commission on Audit (COA).

Dahil sa report ng COA, pinasuspinde ng LRTA ang halos anim (6) na proyekto na hinahawakan ng pitong (7) contractors dahil hindi nasunod ang kani-kanilang deadlines.

Pinagutos ng dating LRTA administrator na repasuhin ang mga proyekto sa rehabilitation works at nagbigay din ng kautusan na kanselahin ang mga delayed na kontrata, ipagbawal ang mga service providers at magsampa ng appropriate na charges sa mga nasabing contractors.

Dahil sa ginawang pag rerepaso ng mga proyekto, naka-blacklist ang joint venture ng Ma-an Construction Corp at IFE Elevators Philippines In. Sila dapat ang magbibigay ng supply at maglalagay ng 32 elevators at 13 escalators sa estasyon ng LRT 2 kasama na rin ang pagpapalit ng 45 escalators sa revenue line.

Binawi rin ang kontrata na binigay sa Well-Built Specialty Contractors Inc. na siya dapat ang mamahala sa pag-aayos ng mga unbonded concrete plinths. Binawi rin ang kontrata na binigay sa joint venture ng Kempal Construction and Supply Corp. at Comm Builders and Technology Philippines Corp upang sila ang maglagay ng train lift.

Na-blacklist din ang Kempal and Suzhou Dafang Special Vehicle Co. Ltd dahil sa pagkaantala ng delivery ng rolling stock diagnostic tools.

Tinanggal rin sa listahan ng mga qualified contractors ang NAR Power System Specialists Corp pagkatapos na ito ay mabigong makumpleto ang restoration ng LRT 2 rectifier substations sa tamang panahon.

Ang LRTA na siyang nagpapalakad ng LRT 2 ay pinagaaralan pa ang ibang kontrata para sa posibleng termination nito dahil sa pagkakaantala na siyang nagiging dahilan upang magkaron ng hindi magandang serbisyo sa publiko ang LRT 2.

“The details of the blacklisting orders were posted on LRTA and PhilGEPS websites. There are still a few projects that are undergoing reviews and evaluation and they are in consideration for possible termination,” saad ng LRTA.

Sa COA report, ang LRTA’s 2021 performance, lumalabas na 13 mula sa kabuohang 22 LRT 2 rehabilitation works na may total cost na P984.56 million ay naantala ng 1,065 na araw noong pang Dec. 31. Ang nasabing pagkaantala ay nagbunga ng hindi pagbibigay ng tamang benepisyo sa publiko mula sa dapat na reporma sa serbisyo ng LRT 2.

“The COA recommended that LRTA slap liquidated damages on contractors who missed out on the deadlines of their projects. It is also recommended that we should consider blacklisting the contractors involved and initiate the takeover of the terminated works,” dagdag ng LRTA. LASACMAR

Mga private school teachers kailangan din ng salary increase tulad ng public school teachers

TINULIGSA ni Deputy Minority Leader at ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro ang Department of Education sa pagtanggi nito sa hinihinging salary increase ng mga guro mula sa public at private sectors.

Ayon sa mambabatas, dismayado at nababahala siya sa pahayag ng DepEd na hindi prayoridad ang upgrading o dagdag sahod ng mga guro sa public school.

Aniya, naiiwan ang mga public school teachers ng ibang propesyon sa kabila na may kahalintulad silang kuwalipikasyon.

Pinakamababa ang sahod ng mga guro kumpara sa ibang teachers sa ibang southeast Asian countries.

“For the longest time, the government has been denying public school teachers salary increases by pitting their salaries against teachers in the private sector, which is wrong because most private school teachers are paid at very low rates, even near-starvation salaries. Salaries of public school teachers should set the standard for salaries in the private school, not the other way around,” dagdag ni Castro.

Matagal nang nasa frontline ang mga guro sa pagbibigay ng edukasyon sa kabila ng kakulangan ng suporta mula sa gobyerno, gamit ang sariling pera para ipambili ng learning materials, o internet connection para sa blended learning modalities.

Isinulong ng partylist ang House Bill 203 o An Act Upgrading the Salary Levels of Public School Teachers to Salary Grade 15 and Teaching Personnel in Higher Education to Salary Grade 16, and Increasing the Salaries of Non-Teaching Personnel to P16,000.

Kabilang na ang House Bill 562 o An Act Increasing the Minimum Salaries of Private School Teachers to P30,000 per month. (Ara Romero)
