Higit 19K bagong kaso ng COVID-19, naitala ng DOH

NAKAPAGTALA ang Pilipinas ng 19,262 bagong kaso ng COVID-19 nitong Agosto 22-28.

Batay sa National COVID-19 case bulletin na inilabas ng DOH nitong Lunes, mayroong average na 2,752 kaso na naitatala kada araw sa nakalipas na linggo.

Mas mababa na ito ng 19% kumpara sa mga kasong naitala mula Agosto 15-21.

Nasa 110 na kaso naman ang nadagdag sa ‘severe at critical’ na kundisyon, habang naitala sa 316 ang bagong nadagdag sa mga nasawi ngunit 94 lamang dito ang nangyari mula Agosto 15-28.

Sa healthcare utilization, 807 pasyente o 10.5% ng kabuuang COVID-19 admissions ang nasa ‘severe at critical’ na kundisyon.

Nakapagtala ng 28.1% ‘non-ICU bed utilization’ kung saan 5,986 sa 21,287 na higaan ang okupado. Nasa 24.9% naman ang ‘ICU bed utilization’ kung saan 635 sa 2,551 higaan may lamang mga pasyente.

Umabot na sa 92.80% ng ‘target population’ ang ‘fully-vaccinated’ na katumbas ng 72,476,610 bakunado.

Nasa 17,843,348 naman ang nakapagpaturok ng unang booster shot.

153K mag-aaral, tumanggap na ng ayuda – DSWD

TUMANGGAP na ng educational assistance ang may 153,315 mag-aaral sa una at ikalawang Sabado ng pamamahagi ng educational assistance ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Bunsod nito, may kabuuang P387.9 milyon na ang naipamahagi ng DSWD sa buong bansa para sa naturang ayuda.

Noong Agosto 28 na ikalawang Sabado ay 79,747 beneficiary nationwide ang nabigyan ng ayuda o P199.6 milyong halaga ng cash aid.

Sa naturang mga benepisyaryo, ang pinaka malaking pondo ay napunta sa 26,704 college/vocational beneficiaries na may halagang P106.6 million; P33.9 milyon naman sa 11,286 senior high school beneficiaries; P34.4 milyon sa 17,254 high school qualified applicants; at P24.5 milyon sa 24,503 elementary students.

Patuloy din ang pakikipag-ugnayan ng DSWD sa pamamagitan ng kanilang Field Offices (FOs) sa mga LGU partners upang matiyak ang maayos at ligtas na pamamahagi ng cash aid sa mga piling indigent students.

Una nang nakipagkasundo ang DSWD sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) upang mapangunahan ng LGUs ang paglalaan ng lugar at seguridad sa distribusyon ng ayuda.

P139K shabu nasabat sa Navotas buy bust, 4 kalaboso

MAHIGIT P.1 milyon halaga ng shabu ang nasamsam ng pulisya sa apat na hinihinalang drug personalities, kabilang ang isang babae matapos matimbog sa magkahiwalay na buy bust operation sa Navotas City.

Ayon kay Navotas police chief Col. Dexter Ollaging, dakong alas-12:10 ng madaling araw nang magsagawa ang mga operatiba ng Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) sa pangunguna ni PLT Luis Rufo Jr, ng buy bust operation sa Paltok St, Brgy. Daanghari kung saan isang undercover police ang nagawang makipagtransaksyon ng P500 halaga ng shabu sa kanilang target na si Gregorio Rico alyas “Gorio”, 50, (pusher/listed).

Nang tanggapin ni Rico ang marked money mula sa police poseur buyer kapalit ng isang plastic sachet ng shabu ay agad siyang dinamba ng mga operatiba, kasama si Renante Reyes alyas “Nante”, 47, (user/listed) na nakuhanan din ng isang sachet ng hinihinalang shabu.

Nakumpiska sa mga suspek ang humigi’t kumulang 11 grams ng hinihinalang shabu na may standard drug price Php 74,800.00, marked money at P500 recovered money.

Dakong ala-1:35 ng madaling araw nang maaresto din ng kabilang team ng SDEU sa buy bust operation sa Rosal St., Brgy. San Roque sina Joven Condeno alyas “Bicol”, 43, (pusher/listed) at Melani Dela Cruz alyas “Lani”, 43, matapos bentahan ng P300 halaga ng shabu ang isang pulis na umakto bilang poseur-buyer.

Narekober sa kanilang ang nasa 9.5 grams ng hinihinalang shabu na may standard drug price Php 64,600.00, marked money at P700 recovered money.

Ezra Miller’s ‘The Flash’ Plans To Do A Lot Of DCEU Resetting

THE plans for Ezra Miller’s The Flash movie were reportedly to do a lot of DCEU resetting, and may now be in question due to Warner Bros. Discovery.

One of the DCEU films that have been in the works for nearly a decade is The Flash. Announced only a week after Grant Gustin’s The Flash TV show debuted on The CW, Warner Bros. unveiled their initial plans for the DCEU, with Miller being tapped as the cinematic iteration of the Scarlet Speedster.

Even though other DCEU projects have moved forward since the 2014 announcement, The Flash got stuck in development hell while Miller’s character appeared in other DC pictures. Several directors and writers boarded and left until Andy Muschietti became the movie’s final director and got principal photography rolling, which ended in late 2021.

Initially set to release this November, Warner Bros. Discovery pushed The Flash movie back till summer 2023 due to post-production needing extended time to finish the film, which will revolve heavily around the DCEU multiverse.

Despite never being confirmed, The Flash has been rumored to serve as a soft reset for the DCEU potentially. However, that may not be the case anymore due to recent developments with Warner Bros. Discovery.

According to the report of Variety, The Flash was slated to “clean up all the narrative threads left dangling” by the DCEU’s “stop-and-start approach” to crafting an interconnected universe. But that plot device may not be something that comes to fruition anymore since Miller’s movie is no longer the final film from the previous DC regime. Last week it was confirmed that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is being delayed to Christmas 2023, as it was initially going to be released ahead of The Flash.

In many ways, it would make sense for any reset storylines to be shelved due to recent developments. Initially, Michael Keaton’s Batman, who will be re-introduced through The Flash, was set to star in HBO Max’s now-canceled Batgirl movie with Leslie Grace.

Ben Affleck’s iteration of the Dark Knight, slated to appear in the speedster-led film, has participated in reshoots for the Aquaman sequel. This is reportedly to replace Keaton’s version of the Caped Crusader since The Flash will be out in theaters before Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

While exact details haven’t emerged on what was filmed, this report could explain why The Flash did reshoots recently with Miller, possibly to alter any ending that does a reboot for the DCEU. Doing any reset for the franchise would damage other films that are on their way, including Blue Beetle, Wonder Woman 3, and Black Canary, which are all set in the DCEU.

And since Warner Bros. Discovery has a 10-year plan for the DC brand, many have assumed that it would be the death of the DCEU.

LAST Sunday, August 28, after one month ng kanilang pinag-usapang engagement, sabay na nag-post ng isang nakaka-touch na video sina Arjo Atayde at Maine Mendoza sa kani-kanilang Instagram account.

Nilagyan nila ito ng caption na, Been a month and it still feels surreal. Me and you, what a feeling. 💍”

Mapapanood nga sa video ang ilang eksena na naganap sa proposal, na maraming pinaiyak sa nakaka-touch na mensahe ni Arjo.

Unang nabanggit ni Arjo sa interview sa kanila ni Maine, na noong araw na nag-propose siya (July 28) ay parehong araw na nag-tweet si Maine ng, “She tweeted Arjo cutie today,” Sagot ni Maine, “Ah today?”

“Yeah, July 28, 2013,” sagot naman ng actor-turned-politician.

Dagdag pa niya, “This is the day I met her also, July 28, 2018. And now I proposed July 28, 2022.”

Pahayag pa ni Arjo, “After four years, I still can’t get enough of you. Because my love for you just keeps growing.

“When our relationship started both our families have taken in a lot of punches and still they never stop us. It didn’t stop anything between us. For that, I’m very thankful to both sides of our families for accepting. Cause at the end of the day I just wanted to love you truly.”

Inamin niyang dapat sana ay last year pa naganap ang proposal, pero may nangyaring hindi inaasahan at may kinalaman ito sa kanyang pamilya.

Isang taon na raw niyang nakita o nabili ang engagement ring na alam naming pinatago muna niya sa kanyang Mommy Sylvia Sanchez. Naging emosyonal nga si Arjo habang binabanggit ang kanyang speech. Say niya, “I’ve always been sure of you, and in always, every day,” sabay luhod at tinanong si Maine ng “Will you marry me?”

At masaya naman at walang kaabog-abog na nag-yes si Maine.

Ibinahagi naman ni Maine kung paano siya alagaan ni Arjo at kung gaano siya kasuwerte na natagpuan ang lalaking magmamahal sa kanya.

Sabi niya, “Lagi kong sinasabi, para ‘kong prinsesa sa kanya.

“The way he loves and cares for me, parang sobra.

“And sometimes I really asked the Lord what I have done to deserve this kind of love.”

Dagdag pa ng Phenomenal star, “I always prayed to find the man who’s gonna love me for who I am. And then, you came.”

Nakakatuwa ring mabasa ang comment ng solid AlDub fans sa post nina Arjo at Maine, na may naiyak din sa tuwa para sa kanilang ini-idolo.

“Mapaka-magical. Naiyak ako. 😭♥️ Dati ayoko kay Arjo para sayo kase solid aldub ako. But he’s making you happy that’s why tinanggap ko na na kayo talaga ang para sa isa’t isa. Nakita ko kung gano nyo kamahal ang isa’t isa. I’m happy for you. I love you. And i’ll keep my promise that I will be your last fan standing♥️♥️♥️”

“Same here I’ m a diehard AlDub fan, pero nagkaron ng Arjo aun nag move on nako at tinanggap kona, ganun tlga e, bsta ang mahalaga happy c Maine at tlgang love nila ang isat isa.”
