Kiefer pinagmulta, sinuspinde sa B.League

Posted on: March 25th, 2022 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

‘There is no such thing as red-tagging’ – Badoy

Posted on: March 25th, 2022 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

NO ONE is “red-tagging.”

Ito ang inihayag ni National Task Force to end Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) spokesperson for sectoral concerns at Presidential Communications Undersecretary Lorraine Badoy, araw ng Miyerkules.

Ani Badoy, ang “the term red-tagging is just a tool” of front organizations of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF), to silence those who speak against them “to blow their cover.”

“There is no such thing as ‘red-tagging’. No less than the Supreme Court has ruled that there is no danger to life, liberty, and security when one is identified as a member of the CPP-NPA-NDF,” ayon kay Badoy.

“The time for silencing us is long past. It is now time for the CPP-NPA-NDF to shut up,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

“ [And] once in, lead them down the road to extremism with one goal and one goal alone—the violent overthrow of the government and the installation of communism in the Philippines. Countless lives have been sacrificed in the altar of the terrorist Joma Sison—our children, our indigenous peoples, the most vulnerable among us,” dagdag na pahayag ni Badoy.

“Almost 24,000 Filipinos no longer killing fellow Filipinos, 24,000 Filipinos rejoining their families and once again leading peaceful, productive lives,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

“This also brought to institutionalizing good governance within local communities, particularly the communist-infiltrated areas, as directed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” ayon kay Badoy.

“We stand firm in ending this 53-year communist terrorist scourge and this also includes speaking the truth about politicians who form unholy alliances with the CPP-NPA-NDF and who lend them material support for their political ambitions at the expense of our country. We will be unstinting with the Truth and we will name them and not be a party to their cover-up,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

“We will not be a party to anything that prolongs the life of this communist terrorist group that has brought untold grief and destruction to our country—on no small measure brought on by the alliances made by traitors in our midst who pretend to be public servants while selling us and our children to these terrorists in exchange for whatever votes they can get from rotten deals they make,” aniya pa rin.

Sinabi pa ni Badoy na “peace is no longer a distant dream in the Philippines.”

“In the countryside where numerous barangays have been cleared of the toxic presence of these terrorists, our countrymen are finally breathing the air of free men and women for the first time in decades. Peace has become a reality and it has made landfall in communities all over the country that have known nothing but the abuse and exploitation of the CPP-NPA-NDF,” dagdag na pahayag nito. Sen.

Posted on: March 25th, 2022 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

“Today I officially announce my resignation as chairman and member of Partido ng Demokratikong Reporma, which effectively makes me an independent candidate,” wika ni Lacson.

“Yesterday, I was informed by the party president, former speaker Pantaleon ‘Bebot’ Alvarez, that their slate in Davao del Norte, led by the party secretary secretary-general and provincial governor Edwin Jubahib, has decided to endorse another presidential candidate,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas.

PANTALEON “BEBOT” D. ALVAREZ ABOUT THE PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN OF LENI ROBREDO

Partido Reporma has always sought to represent the better ideals in politics, mindful of the limitations imposed by a far from perfect world, but faithful to the aim of attaining good governance – through reform – as its constant guiding north star.

Given the challenges that the nation must confront due to the pandemic, the resulting economic crisis, and the spillover adverse consequences in the everyday lives of our People, we initiated an urgent campaign called: “We Need A Leader, 2022.”

There is no doubt that, after a thorough search, we found a once in a generation candidate, a rare gem who devoted his entire life to exceptional public service, risked life and limb for his countrymen, cleaned the ranks of the police force when he led that institution, fought against corruption, and advocated consistently and credibly for good governance.

And when he became a Senator, he authored important laws including, but not limited to, Free Irrigation for our farmers, National ID system to simplify government processes, and increase in the pay of Military and Uniformed Personnel to support our heroes.

He is also the guardian of the national budget, protecting the treasury from those who seek to plunder it. He knows that corruption is not a victimless crime, and with every peso lost, Filipinos tragically have less healthcare, education, infrastructure, and economic opportunities

Last, but not the least, his advocacy for budget reform is the key to bringing development to the countryside. Empowering LGUs, by giving them more funds and handing over to them the ability to efficiently and effectively respond to the needs of their constituents, is key to long-lasting development.

Senator Ping Lacson is the best, and our leaders on the ground have echoed that sentiment time and again. Even supporters of other candidates agree. And under ideal circumstances, they want to campaign and vote for him and see him lead the country. He is the most qualified to be President.

But the electoral terrain in 2022 is far from ideal, and fate had other plans. Time and context framed the narrative of 2022 in a way that gave traction, rightly or wrongly, to other candidacies instead. This is a difficult fact which takes courage to admit.

Right now, two candidates have pulled away from the pack, and while the candidate second in ranking still lags far behind from the frontrunner, it is evident that her campaign has gained, and continues to gain, significant traction. There is much potential there. She has also shown that she represents ideals which are substantially in line with the aims of Partido Reporma: to reform government and provide a better future for Filipinos.

Our ground leaders have expressed their wish to participate in that brave calling. And that is why, a hard choice must be made. With a heavy heart, many members of Partido Reporma are constrained to consider a candidate other than their first choice.

We reasonably believe that the only realistic option at this point, with roughly a month and a half left, is to converge with Leni Robredo’s campaign. Together, we will pursue the realization of our collective aspirations to improve the chances of ordinary Filipinos at a better life.

The Reporma members and officers concerned, they positively, but realistically, view the opportunity to help ensure that the Leni Robredo campaign is strengthened and further represented by additional sectors of society, especially from those in Mindanao – our home – which runs the risk of being neglected again when President Rodrigo Duterte steps down from office.

We respect the choice of our members and officers. They are not Pink, but they are reformists, and they are for Leni Robredo. The fight for good governance and a better tomorrow for our People has never been, and never will be, limited to a single color.

And on my part, I personally have also made a decision.

With time still left, but admittedly not a lot of it, decisive action is necessary. We must respond to the demands of patriotism requiring us to set aside personal preferences, the end goal being collective victory for  good governance, a better future for Filipinos, and a strong and progressive nation.

We need a leader. And for the 2022 Presidential elections, given all these considerations and the crisis we have to overcome, that leader is a woman.

Her name is Leni Robredo.

“In the face of these recent developments, allow me to say: like a true-blooded warrior that I am all my life, I will continue this fight in pursuit of my quest to serve my country and our people, as your chief executive — if God and the Filipino people will it, come May 9, 2022,” dagdag pa ni Lacson.

“Sa lahat ng myembro at kandidato ng Partido Reporma sa labas ng Davao del Norte — who joined the party because of our shared advocacy to fight graft and corruption in pursuit of good governance, all for the sake of our beloved country and people — with or without party affiliation — I am not leaving you behind. I assure you that I will be your leader and supporter in our shared convictions and aspirations.”

Posted on: March 25th, 2022 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

Ayon kay Frederic, hindi raw niya ini-expect na makakuha siya ng nomination: “Having so much rejection in this type of job, in our field, is normal. So I didn’t expect. I just put my head down at work and produce the work and dedicated my entire career into creating beautiful art that people can appreciate. Never in a million years think someone like me could make it this far. I only dreamed about it and hoped and prayed that I could do and achieve the things that weren’t available to me when I was a child.”

Hairstylist siya ni Lady Gaga for 15 years. A Star is Born” noong 2018.

Pag-alala ni Frederic: “I remember dad taught me how to sing and dance and act. I actually became a child actor when I was really young. I did really well. I did a lot of theater work and went to college for Theater Arts while I was doing hair. After that, I would take the train to my mom’s salon and then do hair, do all that, and then at night do plays.”

“Six months before we started filming, my mother passed away. I really didn’t want to do this anymore because she taught me how to do hair, my mom was a hairdresser. So I just didn’t want to carry on because everything reminded me of her. And then Gaga, she’s like, ‘You need to do this for your mom. You need to prove to her and to show and represent and to honor her.’ So with that, I just persevered and I remembered every single thing she taught me, and I put it to every single hairstyle and I put my devotion into my heart. And I put it out like this is my love letter to my mother,” sey ni Frederic na nakatanggap ng parangal mula sa Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Posted on: March 24th, 2022 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

(Daris Jose)

Jamie Lee Curtis Has Hotdog Hands in ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’

Posted on: March 24th, 2022 by @peoplesbalita No Comments
JAMIE Lee Curtis is adding to her Everything Everywhere All at Once transformation by sharing a new behind the scenes photo of herself with hot dog hands.
Last seen in 2021’s Halloween Kills, Curtis will appear in the upcoming science fiction film, set to hit theaters on March 25, following its recent premiere at SXSW. The project was first announced back in 2018, with Michelle Yeoh attached to the starring role. Written and directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, or Daniels as they are referred to, Everything Everywhere All at Once follows an aging Chinese immigrant as she finds herself swept into an adventure, exploring different universes and lives she could have led.
In addition to Yeoh and Curtis, the movie’s cast includes Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr., and James Hong.
After the first official trailer was released, people got an early look at the film and its examination of the multiverse concept, along with the reveal of Jamie Lee Curtis’ character, Deirdre Beaubeirdra. Fans of hers noticed the change in appearance right away and more recently, the actor explained that she wanted to create an authentic portrayal of who she felt Deirdre, an IRS inspector, was.
In speaking about her part, Curtis revealed the goal for her transformation, stating that she did not want any concealing of the body, which included the thought of someone sucking in their stomach or using specific kinds of clothing to appear desirable to.
Now, Jamie Lee Curtis is sharing a new behind the scenes look at Deirdre Beaubeirdra in her latest Instagram post. The photo shows the actor in character, sitting between Daniels, but what many will likely notice are her hot dog hands, something already seen in recent stills and the trailer. In her caption, Curtis jokes about the unique look and teases that the filmmakers’ vision for Everything Everywhere All at Once and its universes will soon be clear.
Back in February, Everything Everywhere All at Once released new images that revealed a bit more about the movie’s various different universes. One of the photos, previously mentioned, shows the hot dog hands, giving eager audiences something to question about that particular branch of the multiverse. Curtis commented about Deirdre being in the center of the “YEOHVERSE,” and while the relationship between her character and that of Yeoh’s Evelyn has not been explained, another image might give viewers some idea. It is an action shot of Evelyn’s head being smashed through a cubicle window by Deirdre in her office.
Deirdre Beaubeirdra seems to be the complete opposite of Laurie Strode, and fans of Jamie Lee Curtis and her work certainly should be excited to see her take on this kind of character. In fact, with Everything Everywhere All at Once’s talented cast, Kwan and Scheinert might be able to ride the popular multiverse concept and create a modest hit among audiences. Early praise from critics suggest that Everything Everywhere All at Once is a film people will enjoy, and audiences can look forward to seeing it when it premieres later this month.

Posted on: March 24th, 2022 by @peoplesbalita No Comments
