LTFRB: May libreng sakay puntang PITX, NLET

Sinumulan ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang pagbibigay ng libreng sakay sa mga pasahero ng mga pampublikong transportasyon papuntang mga terminals ng Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) at North Luzon Express Terminal (NLET).

Ang programa ay kasama sa third leg ng service contracting ng pamahalaan kung saan ang mga pampublikong transportasyon ay nagbibigay ng libreng sakay sa mga pasahero.

“Free rides would be provided by PUVs from the North Luzon Express Terminal going to Araneta Center in Cubao and from NLET going to the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange,” wika ng LTFRB.

Magsisimula ang unang biyahe ng 1:00 ng umaga at matatapos ng 12:00 ng hatinggabi. Sinigurado ng LTFRB na maglalagay sila ng sufficient na bilang ng mga PUVs upang masiguro ang ligtas at walang problemang paglalakbay ng mga pasahero.

Kasama rin sa programa ang pagbibigay ng libreng sakay sa EDSA carousel at ibang ruta. Inaasahan na ang programa ay makakapagbigay ng serbisyo sa may mahigit na 93 million na pasahero.

Ating matatandaan na naputol ang nasabing programa subalit muling binalik nitong nakaraang linggo lamang upang makatulong sa mga PUV drivers at operators ngayon panahon ng pandemya.

“The Service Contracting Program also aims to provide financial support to transport service providers and workers through a performance-based payout system. Under the program, drivers and operators will be paid by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) based on the maximum based on the maximum trips made per week, with or without passengers and in compliance with the agreed-upon performance indicators,” dagdag ng LTFRB.

Ang programa ay may pondong P7 billion para sa Phase 3 ng Service Contracting kung saan ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ay naglaan ng pondo.

Sa ilalim din ng programa sa service contracting, ang PUV operators ay bibigyan ng one-time incentive na P5,000 kada unit bilang “pre-operating costs.” Habang ang operational incentives ay ibibigay kada linggo. Kasama dito ang mga gastos para sa fuel expenses, disinfection, at monthly amortization at iba pang overhead expenses kung saan ito ay babayaran din ng pamahalaan.

Ang programang ito ay inilungsad sa ilalim ng Republic Act 11494 o ang tinatawag na “Bayanihan To Recover as One Act” kung saan ito ay naglalayon na magbigay ng pansamantalang kabuhayan sa mga mangagawa sa sektor ng transportasyon sa gitna ng pandemya.

Hihigpit ang Presidential race kapag kumampi kay Robredo ang undecided voters

HIHIGPIT ang karera sa pagkapangulo kapag pumanig ang tinatawag na “undecided” na mga botante kay Vice President Leni Robredo sa darating na halalan sa Mayo, giit ng isang political analyst.

Ayon kay Froilan Calilung, na nagtuturo ng political science sa University of Santo Tomas, malaki ang epekto ng undecided voters sa resulta ng halalan kapag binoto nila si Robredo.

Una nang sinabi ng OCTA Research na nasa 20 porsiyento pa ng mga Pilipinong botante ang wala pang pinal na kandidato sa darating na halalan sa Mayo.

“But we could surmise na itong 20 percent na ito, if it goes in the way of VP Leni Robredo, may actually create a big effect on the voter turnout,” dagdag pa niya.

Sa hiwalay na panayam, sinabi ni OCTA Research president at UP Political Science professor Ranjit Rye na maaari pang ligawan ng mga kandidato ang tinatawag na “soft votes” o iyong hindi pa nakakapagdesisyon kung sino ang iboboto.

Hinikayat din ni Rye ang mga botante na huwag ibase ang kanilang pasya sa resulta ng survey at sa halip ikonsidera ang plataporma, programa at pangarap ng mga kandidato para sa bansa. (Daris Jose)

PDu30 sa PNP at AFP: Be ready for Russia-Ukraine war spillover

SINABIHAN ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang Philippine National Police (PNP) at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na ihanda ang sarili para sa potensiyal na ‘spillover’ sa Asya ng nagpapatuloy na giyera sa pagitan ng Russia at Ukraine.

Sa idinaos na graduation rites ng PNP Academy “Alab-Kalis” Class of 2022 sa Silang, Cavite, sinabi ni Pangulong Duterte na nakipagkita at nakipagpulong siya sa mga pulis at militar upang balaan ang mga ito sa posibleng ‘spillover’ ng Russia-Ukraine conflict sa Pilipinas.

“Nagwa-warning lang ako that things might go overboard. Itong gulo na ‘yun. Isang pagkakamali diyan, may problema na tayo ,”ayon sa Pangulo.

Hindi naman na nagbigay ng karagdagang detalye si Pangulong Duterte hinggil sa kamakailan lamang niyang pagkikipagpulong sa mga opisyal ng PNP at AFP subalit sinabi ng Punong Ehekutibo na inatasan niya ang tropa ng Pilipinas na maging “handa” sa posibleng kaganapan na paglulunsad ng Russia ng nuclear war laban sa Ukraine.

“Kaya sinabi ko, tinawag ko ‘yung PNP pati ‘yung armed forces. Sinabi ko kapag magulo na, trabaho na ng pulis pati army iyan, the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Be ready for that ,” aniya pa rin.

“Kaya pag ganoong magulo, it’s war. We may be dragged into or something might really happen also kasi kasama-kasama iyan eh. Inyong problema na,” ani Pangulong Duterte sabay sabing “Kung hindi mangyayari, magpasalamat tayo sa Diyos.”

Gayunman, pinuri naman ng Pangulo ang tropa ng Pilipinas dahil mahusay nitong ginagampanan ang kanilang mandato na maglingkod sa bayan sa kabila ng kamakailan lamang na global challenges.

IPINALIWANG ng aktres at kilala ring philanthropist na si Angel Locsin, kung bakit hindi niya sa nagsusuot ng ‘pink shirt’ habang nagdi-distribute ng relief goods sa typhoon victims.

Alam naman ng lahat na very vocal na supporter si Angel sa presidential bid ni Vice President Leni Robredo.

May isa kasing follower na tila nabahala sa photos na nakunan sa Palo, Leyte na kung saan nakikipagkamay siya kay Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, na suot ang “Sara All” shirt, baka raw ito magamit at palabasin na ‘di na niya sinusuportahan si VP Leni.

Sa tweet ng fan ni Angel, “Ang nakakatakot lang gamitin nila yon picture as fake news ….. na BBM na si Angel Locsin sana nakasuot ng pink t-shirt si Angel.”

Kaya naman sumagot ang asawa ni Neil Arce ng, “Hello! Hindi po talaga ako nagsuot ng pink or campaign shirt para hindi po mahaluan ng pulitika ang pagbibigay ng relief goods… lablablab lang po tayo dahil ang kailangan naman po ng mga affected ng landslide ay magtulungan tayo.”

After na personal na nag-distribute relief packs si Angel sa mga pamilyang nasalanta ng Typhoon Agaton, nangampanya din siya na mag-house-to-house para kina VP Leni at running mate na si Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.

Chef JR goes out on a culinary trip kasama si Matteo on the trails of Pestano Farm sa Antipolo, Rizal, upang magluto ng delectable dishes at ma-experience ang various activities while sharing funny and inspiring stories.

Sisimulan nila ang araw by brewing locally produced Cacao Tea using organic eggs and some habanero and padron peppers fresh from the farm. Magpi-prepare sila ng steak and eggs for breakfast.

Pagkatapos ay pupunta sila sa Lagoon Area where para manghuli ng fresh Pangasius na gagamitin nila para sa Fish in Lemon Butter Sauce with Thai Mango Salad.

Chef JR will be using some of the farm’s fresh herb produce in preparing the Lemon and Lime Marmalade served with Herb bread baked in a makeshift oven.

Samantala, ipamamalas ni Matteo ang kanyang cooking skills by preparing his personal Spaghetti Aglio e Olio.

While bonding over food, pag-uusapan nila ang common interests, their mutual love for food, family life, and Matteo’s growing interest in farm life.

Director Sam Raimi Reveals How Multiverse of Madness Will Change Doctor Strange

DIRECTOR Sam Raimi teases how Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will change Benedict Cumberbatch’s hero.

Marvel Studios’ next film is just two weeks away from hitting theaters. Doctor Strange 2 is finally debuting after being delayed multiple times over the course of the coronavirus pandemic; there was once a time it was set to premiere in May of last year.

Raimi came in as a replacement for original director Scott Derrickson, who left Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness due to creative differences. Due to its ties to Spider-Man: No Way Home, the first footage for the upcoming film was tacked onto the Jon Watts-directed blockbuster as its post-credits scene.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as the title suggests, will see the MCU sorcerer traveling through multiple realities as he deals with the ramifications of his decision to meddle in Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) personal woes. The project features an ensemble cast, seeing the return of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Wong (Benedict Wong), not to mention the introduction of America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez).

Despite its several key players, the main story of Multiverse of Madness will be focused on Doctor Strange’s personal journey in the MCU.

According to filmmaker: “He’s grown a bit throughout the course of the Avengers movies, I’ve seen. I think at the beginning of this film, he starts as a very self-assured – perhaps too much so – person who feels he’s the one that’s best in control of all the decisions. It’s safest that way… He has the most faith in himself, and not so much in other people. And I think in this picture, this little chapter in his life, he learns to let go a little bit. That it’s not all about him [and] that he can trust others.”

Disney and Marvel Studios have been running a measured marketing campaign for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. So despite the string of TV spots and other promotional materials coming out, it’s still difficult to decipher what exactly happens in the film.

For what it’s worth, Patrick Stewart’s involvement is pretty much confirmed. His return as Professor X is tied to the appearance of the MCU’s Illuminati, who will be reprimanding Doctor Strange for his actions in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

While being detained by the governing body, Doctor Strange will meet America Chavez, who will teach him more about the multiverse. Given that, the film’s writer, Michael Waldron recently claimed that the events of Doctor Strange 2 have ties to Loki season 2.

As someone who has always excelled in his job, it makes sense that Doctor Strange is used to doing things by himself. Looking back at his MCU arc thus far, he has mostly executed his plans on his own. In the original Doctor Strange film, he fought Dormammu alone, and in Avengers: Infinity War, he kept his overall plan to defeat Thanos (Josh Brolin) to himself.

Seeing him learn how to rely on other people in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as Raimi reveals, will be interesting to watch. Perhaps this could even be Marvel Studios’ way of grooming him to be the next Avengers leader. (source: screenrant.com)

Kalituhan sa ‘window hours’, nilinaw ng MMDA

NILINAW ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang polisiya sa ‘window hours’ na ipinapatupad sa provincial buses na nagdulot ng kalituhan sa publiko.

Sinabi ni MMDA Chairman Atty. Romando Artes na batay sa umiiral na polisiya ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), lahat ng provincial buses ay dapat lamang na magbaba at magsakay ng pasahero sa North Luzon Express Terminal (NLET) sa Bocaue, Bulacan o sa Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) na matatagpuan naman sa Parañaque City.

Ayon kay Artes, pinagbigyan ng LTFRB ang hiling ng MMDA matapos na umapela ang mga provincial bus operators sa ahensiya na payagan silang pumasok at dumaan sa EDSA simula 10pm hanggang 5am, sa loob ng dalawang linggong dry run na nagsimula noong huling linggo ng Marso. Binigyang diin din ni Artes na hindi ipinagbabawal na mag-operate nang lagpas sa nasabing window hours ang mga provincial buses, sa kondisyon na hindi sila magbaba at magsasakay sa kani-kanilang mga pribadong terminal at sa halip ay gagamitin nila ang integrated terminals (NLET at PITX) alinsunod sa umiiral na patakaran ng LTFRB.

Kinumpirma rin ni Artes na ang ahensiya at mga provincial bus operators ay nagkaroon ng gentleman’s agreement matapos silang humiling na palawigin pa ito, kung saan pinapayagan lahat ng provincial buses na dumaan sa kahabaan ng EDSA at gamitin ang kanilang Metro Manila terminals nang buong araw noong Semana Santa, partikular hanggang Abril 17 (Linggo ng Pagkabuhay). Mas pinalawig pa ang kasunduan hanggang noong Martes, Abril 19. Kaya naman muli nang ipapatupad ang window hours scheme nitong Miyerkules, Abril 20.

Bukod dito, iginiit ng opisyal na ang pangunahing tungkulin ng MMDA ay ang mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng mga regulasyon at batas trapiko, habang ang paggawa ng mga patakaran tungkol sa provincial buses at iba pa na may kinalaman sa transportasyon ay saklaw na ng Department of Transportation at LTFRB.

Philhealth, ipagpapatuloy ang pagbabayad ng hospital claims

IPAGPAPATULOY na ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation ang pagbabayad ng mga unpaid hospital claims.

Ayon Philhealth Vice President for Corporate Affairs Dr. Shirley Domingo nakikipag-ugnayan na ang kanilang regional offices sa mga ospital para sa kanilang claim’s payment.

Nagsasagawa din sila ng reconciliation meetings at sa katunayan, nagbayad aniya ang Philhealth sa pamamagitan ng Debit-Credit Payment Method (DCPM).

Sa ilalim kasi ng Circular 2021-0004, ginagamit ng Philhealth ang DCPM para mafacilitate ang settlement ng accounts na ibinabayad sa mga healthcare facilities sa kasagsagan ng State of public Health emergency dulot ng Covid19 pandemic.

Nasa 600-K DepEd personnel, magsisilbi sa Halalan 2022

NASA 600,000 na mga tauhan ng Department of Education (DepEd) ang nakatakdang magsilbi para sa nalalapit na Halalan 2022.

Ayon kay DepEd Director Marcelo Bragado Jr., mas mataas ito kumpara sa bilang ng mga DepEd personnel na nagserbisyo noong nakaraang eleksyon noong taong 2019.

Paliwanag niya, ito ay sa kadahilanang nadagdag pa raw ng clustered precinsts ang Commission on Election (Comelec) matapos na madagdagan pa raw ang bilang ng mga rehistradong botante sa bansa.

Sa datos ay mayroong 106,000 na clustered precints na gagamitin pa ra sa darating na eleksyon sa bansa, habang nasa kabuuang 319,317 naman ang bilang ng mga guro na magsisilbi bilang bahagi ng electoral boards, habang ang iba naman ay mga non-teaching DepEd personnel na magsisilbi naman bilang mga supervising officials. support at technical support staff at bilang boards of canvassers na rin.

Kung maaalala noong 2019 ay nasa 531,000 ang kabuuang bilang ng mga DepEd personnel na nakibahagi sa pagbibigay serbisyo para sa naging halalan noong panahon na iyon. (Daris Jose)
