55 websites, ipinasara ng United States dahil sa illegal live streaming ng FIFA World Cup

LIMAMPU’T limang website ang nasamsam ng US Justice Department para sa ilegal na live-streaming na mga laban mula sa FIFA World Cup sa Qatar.

Ayon sa pahayag ng departamento, ang mga website ay isinara matapos matukoy ng isang kinatawan ng FIFA ang mga site na ginagamit upang ipamahagi ang nilalamang lumalabag sa copyright nang walang pahintulot ng soccer world governing body.

Ang FIFA lang kasi ay may hawak ng mga eksklusibong mga karapatan sa World Cup, na sa ngayon ay umabot na sa semi-final stage ng mga laban.

Dagdag dito, bagama’t marami umano ang maaaring naniniwala na ang mga naturang website ay hindi bumubuo ng mga seryosong banta, ang paglabag sa mga may hawak ng mga karapatan ng anumang intelektwal na ari-arian ng FIFA ay isang lumalagong banta sa kakayahan nilang pang-ekonomiya.

Fuel subsidy sa trike drivers, pabibilisin – DOTr

PABIBILISIN ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang pamamahagi ng fuel subsidy sa libu-libong tricycle drivers na hindi pa natatanggap ang bahagi nila sa P2.5 bilyon na inilaan ng pamahalaan.

Ayon kay Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, pinag-usapan nila ni DOTr Sec. Jaime Bautista kung paano mapapabilis ang pamamahagi ng subsidy dahil hirap na hirap na ang mga tricycle driver bunsod ng mataas na presyo ng gasolina, inflation, at ang pandemya na nakaapekto sa kanilang kabuhayan.

Sa nasabing pulong umano ay pumayag si Bautista na idaan ang subsidy sa local government units (LGUs) dahil may kakayahan itong ipamahagi ang cash assistance.

“BABYLON” NABS 5 GOLDEN GLOBE NOMS INCLUDING BEST PICTURE

DIRECTOR Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, the lavish and provocative epic tale about early Hollywood has just received five Golden Globe nominations including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Three of its principal cast members scored major acting nominations: Best Actress for Margot Robbie (as Nellie LaRoy, an unknown actress who is trying to get her big break into show business), Best Actor for Mexico’s Diego Calva (as Manny Torres, a young dreamer who will literally do anything for a Hollywood career) and Best Supporting Actor for Brad Pitt (as Jack Conrad, a silent movie star at the top of his game).

The film’s haunting music also captured a Best Original Score nomination for composer Justin Hurwitz.

Babylon opens in theaters across the Philippines on February 1st, 2023.
