Malakanyang, pinangalanan ang mga bagong Marcos appointees sa DTI, NAP, DND

INANUNSYO ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO) ang bagong appointees ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Ang mga bagong opisyal na itinalaga sa National Archives of the Philippines (NAP), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), at Department of National Defense (DND) ay sina: Victorino M. Manalo, Executive Director ng NAP. Manalo, humahawak ng kaparehong posisyon noong termino ni dating Pangulong Benigno Aquino III, at itinalaga bilang Chairperson ng National Commission for Culture and the Arts noong Enero 2023.

Si Wena M. Buston ay itinalaga bilang Provincial Trade and Industry Officer sa DTI, ayon sa PCO.

Sina Manalo at Buston ay kapwa itinalaga noong Abril 18.

Sa DND naman ay may tatlong bagong appointments noong Abril 13, dalawang opisyal ang napasama sa ranks ng Brigadier General sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) –Philippine Army, ang mga Brig. Gen. Erwin Alea at Brig. Gen. Eugene Mata.

Si April Bayabao ay na- promote naman bilang Lieutenant Commander ng AFP- Philippine Navy, ayon sa PCO. (Daris Jose)

LTO, nagpaliwanag kaugnay ng malapit nang maubos na driver license card

NAGPALIWANAG ang pamunuan ng Land Transportation Office kaugnay ng nagkakaubusang drivers license card para sa mga kumukuha ng lisensya.

Ayon sa kay Land Transportation Office Chief Jay Art Tugade, hindi na hawak ng kanilang ahensya ang procurement nitong license card.

Sa bisa ng special order ng Department of Transportation nitong January, lahat ng procurement na may halagang 50 million and above ay ipoproseso sa central office ng ahensya.

Kung maaalala mayroon nalang halos 147,000 na drivers license card base sa imbentaryo ng ahensya.

Sa halos 30,000 na transaksyon sa kada araw, itong supply raw ay aabot na lamang ng limang araw.

Bilang solusyon dito ay mag iimprenta na lamang muna umano sa papel ng mga permit. (Daris Jose)

2 mataas na opisyal ng gobyerno ipapapatay ako – Rep. Teves

IBINUNYAG ng kontrobersyal na si dating 3rd District Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves na dalawang mataas na opisyal umano ng gobyerno ang nagpaplano ng ‘assassination plot’ laban sa kanya.

Si Teves ang itinuturong mastermind sa pagpatay kay Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo at 8 iba pa.

Sa isang television interview via zoom, sinabi ni Teves na hindi ligtas para sa kanya ang umuwi dahilan sa banta sa kaniyang buhay. Tumanggi naman ang opisyal na kumpirmahin ang ulat na nasa Cambodia siya para umano sa kaniyang kaligtasan.

“Dalawa silang mataas na opisyal ng gobyerno, they want me dead,” ayon kay Teves pero tumanggi na tukuyin ang mga pangalan ng naturang mga opisyal dahilan baka umano siya ma-libel.

Ayon kay Teves, nakarating sa kaniya ang impormasyong may ‘kill order’ laban sa kaniya noong una pa man na i-raid ng mga pulis ng kaniyang tahanan sa Negros kung saan plano umanong todasin na siya at palitawin na lamang na nanlaban kaya nabaril sa operasyon.

Sinabi ni Teves na kung may ebidensya laban sa kaniya ay ilutang at sampahan siya ng kaso sa halip na puro hearsay o gawa-gawa lamang ang pinagsasabi kung saan nahahatulan na siyang guilty sa ‘trial by publicity’ na sobrang ‘unfair’ umano.

Inihayag ni Teves na maari niyang ikonsidera ang pag-uwi sa bansa kung makita niya na mayroon ng ‘fairness’ o patas na hustisya sa bansa pero sa kasalukuyan ay hindi pa niya ito magagawa dahil sa seryosong banta sa kaniyang buhay. (Daris Jose)

GSIS, mamumuhunan ng $300 milyong dolyar para sa global infrastructure projects

SINABI ng Presidential Communications Office na nakatakdang mag-invest ang Government Service Insurance System o GSIS ng 3 daang milyong dolyar para sa proyektong imprastraktura partikular na may kinalaman sa transport, energy at digitalization.

Kasunod na rin ito ng tinintahang kasunduan sa pagitan nina GSIS President, General Manager at Acting Board Chairman Wick Veloso at James Amine ng Global Infrastructure Partners Emerging Markets Fund.

Ang hakbang na partnership ay naglalayong maikalat ang assets at makakuha ng mataas na returns para na rin sa kapakinabangan ng may mahigit sa 2 milyong miyembro at pensioners ng ahensiya.

Sa ulat, ang New York based Global Infrastructure Partners ang nagungunang independent infrastructure fund manager na may 87 billion dollar asset at namumuhunan sa power and utilities, natural resources infrastructure, air transport infrastructure, seaports, freight railroad, water distribution and treatment at waste management.

Kilala ang naturang firm sa pakikipag-partner sa public sector at stakeholders na konektado sa pagpapaunlad ng imprastraktura. (Daris Jose)

Kakulangan ng valid ID at digital literacy, dahilan ng mabagal na SIM registration sa bansa

KAKULANGAN sa government valid IDs at digital literacy ng mga SIM card subscribers ang itinuturong dahilan ngayon kung bakit nagiging mabagal ang pag-usad ng SIM registration sa bansa.

Sa ngayon kasi ay aabot pa lamang sa 66 million o 39 percent ng kabuuang bilang na 168 million ng mga SIM card users sa buong bansa ang nakakapagparehistro pa lamang ng kanilang mga SIM card noong Abril 11, 2023.

Ayon sa ilang eksperto, dahil dito ay kinakailangan ng hand-holing partikular na sa mga customers na nasa mga probinsya dahil nandoon aniya ang mga lugar na may mababang bilang ng registration.

Kaugnay nito ay sinabi naman ng Department of Information and Communications Technology na pinag-aaralan na nito kasama ang National Telecommunications Commission ang posibilidad ng pagpapalawig pa sa deadline ng SIM registration act.

NASAMSAM ng pulisya ang mahigit kalahating milyong peso halaga ng shabu sa tatlong tulak ng illegal na droga, kabilang ang magkapatid na listed bilang high value individual (HVI) na naaresto sa magkahiwalay na buy bust operations sa Caloocan City.

Sa ulat ni District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) chief P/Maj. Dennis Odtuhan kay Northern Police District (NPD) Director P/BGen Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr, ala-1:40 ng madaling araw nang magsagawa ang mga operatiba ng DDEU sa pangunguna ni PSMS Michael Tagubilin ang buy bust operation sa NHC-LD Road, Brgy. 186.

Kaagad sinunggaban ng mga operatiba ang magkapatid na Ronald Alinapon alyas “Dudong”, 45, at Rey Manuel Alinapon alyas “Tata”, 40, kapwa ng Domato Avenue, Cor. King David St., Phase 12, Brgy. 188, matapos bentahan ng P7,500 halaga ng shabu ang isang pulis na nagpanggap na buyer.

Nakuha sa mga suspek ang humigi’t kumulang 60 grams ng hinihinalang shabu na may satandard drug price value na P408,000.00 at buy bust money na isang tunay na P500 at P7-pirasong P1,000 boodle money.

Nauna rito, natimbog din ng mga operatiba ng DDEU sa buy bust operation sa 105 BMBA Compound, 3rd Avenue, Brgy. 118, dakong ala-1:30 ng hapon ang 18-anyos na si John Michael Paguia alyas “Nognog”.

Nakumpiska sa kanya ang nasa 15 grams ng hinihinalang shabu na may SDP value na P102,000.00 at buy bust money na kinabibilangan ng isang tunay na P500 bill at pitong pirasong P1,000 boodle money.

Pinuri naman ni BGen Peñones ang DDEU sa kanilang matagumpay na drug operation na nagresulta sa pagkakadakip sa tatlong notoryus umanong drug pushers na nahaharap sa kasong paglabag sa RA 9165 o ang Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (Richard Mesa)

Joaquin Phoenix returns Arthur Fleck in Todd Phillips’s Joker: Folie à Deux

Arthur Fleck will return in Joker: Folie à Deux, and he will bring with him a whole new ensemble. Todd Phillips’s 2019 movie Joker was arguably the year’s biggest lightning rod in cinemas, with significant pre-release debate that the movie’s story of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) transforming into the Joker could inspire a new legion of mass shooters. Despite this, Joker became one of 2019’s biggest movies, earning over $1 billion worldwide with Phoenix’s performance as Fleck being particularly well-received.

Joker tells the tale of professional clown-for-hire Arthur Fleck snapping after a lifetime of mistreatment and poverty, and his actions as Joker inspiring an uprising of Gotham City’s downtrodden against the city’s elite. By contrast, other than the film being A Star is Born-style musical, the story of Joker: Folie à Deux remains under wraps. This includes how Joker: Folie à Deux follows Joker‘s ending and whether it confirms that its predecessor’s events actually happened or were only in Arthur’s head, the latter being a widespread theory driven by the movie’s ambiguity. Joaquin Phoenix reprises his role as Arthur Fleck a.k.a. Joker in Joker: Folie à Deux. Phoenix’s early credits as a child actor include Kids Don’t Tell and Space Camp. Pop star Stefani Germanotta is known by the stage name Lady Gaga, and portrays Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie à Deux. Gaga made her film debut in 2013’s Machete Kills, and subsequently portrayed Bertha in 2014’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Gaga also portrayed Ally Maine in Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut A Star is Born, for which she earned an Academy Award nomination for her performance, and won Best Original Song for “Shallow”. Additionally, Gaga also portrayed Patrizia Reggiani in Ridley Scott’s 2021 movie House of Gucci, while she also provided the song “Hold My Hand” for the 2022 mega-hit Top Gun: Maverick.

Alfred, isa sa mga sumuporta: ‘Easy Listening’ ni Nestor Cuartero, tagumpay ang book launch

MALUGOD na inihayag ng UST Publishing House (USTPH) ang paglabas ng kalilimbag na aklat, sa ilalim ng kanilang creative nonfiction shelves, na “Easy Listening” ni Nestor Cuartero

Ito ay kaipunan ng mga personal na sanaysay ng veteran journalist at book author sa kanyang matapat na pagtalakay tungkol sa iba’t ibang paksa — mula sa pagninilay sa pagiging ama hanggang sa mga pagdiriwang sa mga biyaya ng kalikasan — na pawang sinulat gamit ang pagiging mausisang peryodista at malikhaing pananaw bilang manunulat.

After umalis sa GMA Network… BEA, inamin na happy sa mga bagong kaibigan sa Viva

MATITIGIL na siguro ang mga speculations tungkol sa pagbabagong magaganap sa longest-running noontime show na “Eat Bulaga.”

Nag-guest ang Chief Finance Officer ng Television and Production Exponent (TAPE) Inc. na si Dapitan Mayor Bullet Jalosjos, sa “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” last Wednesday, April 19.

Nilinaw na ni Mayor Bullet na hindi totoong mawawala ang mga haligi ng noontime show ang TVJ, na sina Tito at Vic Sotto at Joey de Leon.

“They’ve always been a part and will always be a part of Eat Bulaga, and EB cannot live without TVJ at kahit ang TVJ cannot live without EB.”

Ayon pa kay Mayor Bullet, naging bahagi sila ng board of directors ng TAPE, Inc. three or four years ago, at tinulungan sila ng TVJ and ni Mr. Tony Tuviera, na naging guide nila. “Definitely, mananatili ang TVJ sa EB, ganoon din ang iba pang host ng programa.

Hindi rin totoo na lilipat ng ibang network ang EB, “I talk to the executives of GMA, I have to make sure that they are confident enough to know na yung changes na nangyayari sa EB is still stable and sound.” (Two years pa ang contract ng TAPE, Inc. sa GMA Network.)
