“Aside from continuous learning and constant upgrading of your skills and knowledge, you have to possess the right attitude to build good working relationships,” sabi ni Tiangco.

“Practice strong work ethic. Always persevere to be the best version of yourself and find ways to be of more value to the industry or institution you are working for and the clients you serve,” dagdag niya.

Organon: Championing Women’s Health at Every Life Stage

Posted on: July 9th, 2024 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

IN THE dynamic landscape of healthcare, one area that is often overlooked and under-prioritized is women’s health. This is particularly significant considering that women constitute a substantial portion of the workforce and considered the backbone of society. In the Philippines, the labor force consists of over 50 million Filipinos aged 15 years and older, with women making up 21.9 million of this total. With a labor force participation rate of 64.1% and an employment rate of 96.0% for women as of April 2024, it is evident that Filipinas play a pivotal role not only in the workforce but also in the nation’s development and resilience.

Healthcare company Organon recognizes that women’s health is a complex tapestry woven from various needs. From their teenage years, when preventing unplanned pregnancies is crucial, to their prime childbearing years and beyond, Organon offers a variety of solutions.

“Filipino women’s contribution in our society is undeniable. This is why Organon’s purpose is to create a better and healthier every day for every woman and we believe that women’s health should be prioritized at every stage of life.,” says Emmanuel Tiglao, Country Lead at Organon Philippines.

“Our diverse portfolio reflects our commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare solutions that empower women to live their best lives. From adolescence to menopause, we are here to support and advocate for their health and well-being,” Tiglao added.

Empowering women to plan their future

The decision of when—and whether—to start a family is one of the most important choices a woman can make. However, nearly half of all pregnancies worldwide (approximately 121 million annually) are estimated to be unplanned, leading to health risks and reduced educational and employment opportunities for mother and child – challenges which can span generations.

Unplanned pregnancies are in part caused by a lack of access to contraceptive information and services. Globally, of the 257 million women who want to avoid pregnancy, almost 67% are not safe, modern methods of contraception.

World Population Day, celebrated every July, underscores the critical importance of family planning in empowering individuals and societies worldwide. However, the Philippines currently grapples with one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates among ASEAN member-states, with a staggering 183,000 adolescent girls either becoming pregnant or giving birth annually. This alarming statistic surpasses global and regional averages, as reported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNPFA).

This is why Organon is actively advocating to expand access to family planning methods through multi-stakeholder collaboration that are fueling public health solutions, addressing inequities, and giving women more opportunities to pursue education and economic independence. In fact, Organon has been named to Fortune’s 2023 Change the World list for its leadership in helping women and girls around the world take control of their reproductive health.

No woman should die while giving life

Postpartum hemorrhage (also called PPH) occurs when a woman experiences heavy blood loss after giving birth. It remains the leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide. Organon believes that more options in the area of maternal health for healthcare providers and women are urgently needed. With therecent addition of a device intended to provide control and treatment of abnormal postpartum uterine bleeding or hemorrhage when conservative management is warranted to its portfolio, Organon continues to build upon the company’s vision of a better and healthier every day for HER by making sure that no woman needs to die when giving birth. This innovative solution has the potential to save countless lives and significantly reduce maternal mortality rates.

Navigating menopause with confidence

Menopause marks a significant milestone in a woman’s life, often accompanied by symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, and increased risk of conditions like cardiovascular diseases, dyslipidemia, and osteoporosis. Organon is dedicated to developing solutions that address these health conditions to help women navigate this transformative phase with confidence and dignity.

A holistic approach to women’s health

Organon’s initiatives extend beyond medical innovations. The company is focused on creating an environment where women feel supported and empowered to pursue their professional aspirations without compromise. By investing in initiatives focused on menopause, reproductive health, and postpartum care, Organon aims to empower women with the knowledge and resources needed to manage their health effectively.

As Organon looks to the future, its goal is to become the country’s go-to reference in women’s health. By fostering a sustainable healthcare environment where women receive the support, care, and advocacy they rightfully deserve, Organon is paving the way for a healthier and more empowered future for Filipinas.

Posted on: July 9th, 2024 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

Fil-Am actor Brandon Perea is extreme meteorologist Boone in epic disaster film “Twisters”

Posted on: July 9th, 2024 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

AFTER his starring in the sci-fi saga The OA, and his big-screen breakout in Jordan Peele’s critically acclaimed horror film Nope, Brandon Perea chases storms along with Tyler Owen (Glen Powell) as Boone in Twisters. A modern chapter to the 1991 blockbuster, Twister, the new epic adventure follows a group of storm chasers as they try to predict and possibly tame one of nature’s most destructive forces.

Watch Perea and the rest of the cast in the “A Look Inside” featurette: https://youtu.be/tDo9QnmBaEM

Boone and the rest of Owen’s squad hail from Arkansas, and the group of adrenaline junkies are in it for the thrills. “They’re a diverse group of fun and crazy hooligans who work efficiently together, but there’s a higher purpose in what they do,” Perea says. “They’re cool because everyone’s just being their genuine honest self, no false fronts. Their goal is to help people and have fun while doing it, and as they reveal themselves to the audience, they will earn everyone’s respect.”

Perea and the cast found inspiration for the vibe of their fun-loving, rag-tag group from the original Twister character, Dusty, played by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. “I know that I’m talking about one of the greatest actors of all time,” Perea says. “Hopefully I can bring even just a pinkie-nail amount of that fun-kooky energy he brought to the film.”

Director Lee Isaac Chung also wanted to pay tribute to Hoffman by imbuing some of Dusty’s aesthetic onto Boone. “I also wanted to pay respect to Philip Seymour Hoffman, who was so beloved in Twister, for playing this quirky, thrill-seeking character, Dusty, and whose spirit can be seen in the storm wranglers,” Chung says. “Perhaps the most explicit of those homages are on Boone, Tyler’s right-hand man and hype beast, played by Brandon Perea, who rocks some tie-dye, and on Lily, played by Sasha Lane, the group’s free-spirited drone flyer, whose pants have swatches of floral fabric, all nods to Dusty’s wardrobe prints.”

Posted on: July 9th, 2024 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

Sagot ni Kuh, “ABC of my music, the choices of… just this particular show, ABC means my chosen singers, composers, kasi 1 ½ to 2 hours lang naman yung show, di ba?

“So, ABC pa lang which is the basic of what I love from other singers, from the people who have given me their compositions to record, yung ganun, my hits, na ABC.”
Sino ang mga A?

“Ang dami, Adele, we’ll be singing songs of Adele. “Azarcon, who composed a lot of my songs, yung I Think I’m in Love, also One More Try, Hello, marami pa,” pagtukoy ni Kuh sa composer na si Cecile Azarcon, “B naman, we’re doing some Barbra Streisand songs, I have not sung a lot of Barbra Streisand songs recently.

“That’s my past, so because it’s my basic.

“That’s the artist that I really look up to when I was just starting.

“As a singer, and even if you ask those who really understand what singing is all about and placement, also vocal tone, kailangan yung tone kasi tama, I would really choose Whitney Houston.

“She’s really… I don’t know if anybody will really, you know, come and a new singer would become really be… can surpass, kasi natural yung kanya, e.

“And I believe it’s because as a young girl she was already singing in church, so talagang na-hone yung talent niya.

“Of course, there’s Barbra Streisand, because of her… you know, kay Barbra naman of course her tone is different, it’s very unique, at the same time, you know when she belts, she’s not shouting, but it is what the dynamics that is necessary for the song.

“So, actually a good singer does not necessarily belt in a way na masakit sa tenga, yung ganun, dapat beautiful pa rin, and that’s Barbra Streisand for you.

“Even for Whitney Houston.

“I don’t choose the others because I’m not really into their songs, but you know, a few years back, I discovered a male singer who I love, and that’s Seal.

“Because of his arrangements, his songs, the content of his lyrics, so I love Seal as well, because hindi mapanggap yung kanyang way of singing , it’s really uniquely his, iyon.”

Sa mga new breed of singers natin ngayon, sino ang nais ni Kuh na maka-collaborate?

“Our local singers? I’d like to do something with KZ Tandingan, because when I was starting and even now, you know, well I see that she likes to put drama in her performance and she’s quite unique, very talented. I’d like to see what we can do together.”

“Meron kasi akong pasabog noon when I got pregnant, talagang nagpa-concert ako at sinabi ko na I’m pregnant,” at muling tumawa ang Pop Diva.

“Siyempre na-front page yata ako nun.

“Well, hindi naman pasabog, but I’m bringing someone who is a surprise guest.”

Lahad ni Kuh, “Actually, si Jonalyn Viray, for me is a very good singer, at saka napakabait na bata.

“No, she’s a good singer! When I say good singer it’s because that is what is necessary for the song.

“There are times that I can really appreciate si Regine, because you know, talagang there are songs that I think, maybe kasi paborito niyang kanta.

“Talented talaga si Regine when you think about it, minsan lang… sa tingin ko ha, well Regine herself said na, ‘Ito gusto ng tao sa akin e.’

“Kapag hindi siya bumirit parang may kulang, you know, yung ganun,” pagtukoy ni Kuh sa Asia’s Songbird na si Regine Velasquez.
