PINANGUNAHAN nina Mayor John Rey Tiangco at Cong. Toby Tiangco ang blessing at inauguration ng limang karagdagang pumping stations, bagong multi-purpose building, at isang pinahusay na kalsada bilang bahagi ng ika-17th cityhood anniversary ng Navotas.

Ang Navotas mayroon na ngayon 81 na estratehikong lokasyon na pumping stations sa buong lungsod.

Ang mga bagong pumping stations ay nasa Kanduli, Martiniko, Mamale Site 8, at Mamale Alley at Brgy. NBBS Dagat-dagatan at Takino St. at Brgy. Bangkulasi.

Binigyan-diin ni Mayor Tiangco ang kritikal na papel ng mga bagong pasilidad sa pag-iwas sa mga panganib sa baha at pagtiyak ng kaligtasan at kagalingan ng mga residente.

“These pumping stations are crucial in our ongoing efforts to manage flooding. By enhancing our flood control measures, we are not only protecting our residents but also contributing to the development of our city,” aniya.

“We urge our fellow Navoteños to help us in taking care of these facilities. Keeping our surroundings clean and practicing responsible waste disposal are simple yet effective ways to ensure these stations function effectively,” dagdag niya.

Tinularan ni Congressman Tiangco ang damdamin ng alkalde na binibigyang-diin ang mahalagang papel ng pakikipag-ugnayan ng komunidad sa mga hakbangin sa pagkontrol sa baha.

NAGLABAS ng pahayag si Navotas Congressman Toby Tiangco na bilang Chair ng ICT Committee ng House of Representatives, ay lubos niyang ikinabahala ang tungkol sa insidente ng hacking kamakailan kung saan tinatarget ang Disaster Risk Reduction Management Division ng Department of Information and Communications Technology.

Ayon sa kanya, ang paglabag na ito ay hindi lamang nakompromiso sa sensitibong data ngunit naglalagay din ng panganib sa mga kritikal na serbisyo na umaasa sa ating mga mamamayan sa panahon ng krisis.

“This incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities that exist in our digital infrastructure. We must take immediate steps to enhance our defenses and ensure that robust cybersecurity protocols are in place to safeguard our systems from future breaches.” pahayag ni Tiangco.

“Furthermore, the implementation of the SIM Card Registration Act, with the aim of protecting Filipinos from text scams and other forms of telecom fraud, has been lacking. Scammers continue to exploit and victimize many Filipinos through text scams. We need strict and effective enforcement to curb these criminal activities and uphold the interests of our citizens.” dagdag niya.

Nananawagan si Cong. Tiangco sa Department of Information and Communications Technology na pabilisin ang imbestigasyon sa insidente ng pag-hack na ito at magpatupad ng komprehensibong mga reporma sa cybersecurity nang walang pagkaantala.

Kinakailangan aniya na magtulungan upang pagtibayin ang mga depensa at i-secure ang ating digital na imprastraktura para sa kapakinabangan ng lahat ng Pilipino.

BILANG bahagi ng ika-17th cityhood anniversary celebration, nagsagawa ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Navotas ng job opportunities at nagbigay ng suporta sa mga small businesses.

Ayon kay Mayor John Rey Tiangco, itinampok sa Mega Job Fair, na inorganisa ng City Public Employment Service Office (PESO), ang 50 partner companies na nag-aalok ng mahigit 6,000 job opportunities sa iba’t-ibang industriya.

Mahigit 300 Navoteños na naghahanap ng trabaho ang nag-aplay sa naturang mega job fair kung saan umabot sa 212 individuals ang hired on the spot.

Ang aktibidad ay nagsilbi rin bilang one-stop-shop para sa mga nangangailangan ng serbisyo mula sa government agencies tulad ng Philippine Statistics Authority, Pag-IBIG, Social Security System, at PhilHealth.

Bumisita naman si Mayor Tiangco sa job fair saka binati niya ang mga natanggap kaagad sa trabaho at pinaalalahanan na pagbutihin nila ang mga trabahong kanilang natanggap. (Richard Mesa)

LAST June 25, 2024 marked a historic moment as health leaders, policymakers, researchers, and advocates nationwide convened for the inaugural Dengue Summit at the Manila Diamond Hotel.

The summit, a collaborative effort led by the Philippines Medical Association (PMA), the Philippines College of Physicians (PCP), and the Philippine Pediatric Society, Inc (PPS), aims to galvanize a national action against the urgent public health posed by dengue fever.

“Zero Dengue Death by 2030” in alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3, the Dengue Summit aims to drive transformative change through enhanced collaboration among key stakeholders. While current vector control methods have shown it’s effectiveness, the summit emphasized the crucial role of integrating innovative interventions such as vaccination into a holistic dengue management framework alongside robust surveillance systems, enhanced healthcare infrastructure, and active community engagement to decisively combat dengue in the Philippines.

ISINAGAWA ng pamahalaang lungsod ang Navotas Youth Camp para sa mga kabataang Navoteño upang tamasahin ang kanilang bakasyon sa paaralan habang hinahasa ang kanilang mga kasanayan sa palakasan at sining, bilang bahagi ng 17th Navotas cityhood anniversary.

Nasa 477 Navoteño na may edad 10–19 ang nagsanay sa iba’t ibang sports habang 150 ang nagpasyang matuto ng sining.

Pinuri naman ni Mayor John Rey Tiangco ang mga kalahok sa pagsusumikap sa kanilang school break.

“We’re glad that you chose to use your school vacation to improve your talents and skills. We hope you enjoyed the workshops and gained new friends. Continue to develop yourself and improve your abilities,” ani Tiangco.

Bilang isang dating atleta, sinabi ni Tiangco na umaasa ang lungsod na ang mga sports at arts camp ay magtataguyod ng holistic na pag-unlad ng mga kabataang Navoteño at hikayatin silang tuklasin ang kanilang mga talento at interes.

Kasama sa mga sports na sakop sa kampo ang arnis na may 16 na kalahok; athletics, 34; sepak takraw, 36; football, 16; pindutin ang football, 11; pencak silat, 22; at wushu, 25.

Bahagi rin ng pagsasanay ang basketball na may 50 manlalaro; volleyball, 70; judo, 55; karate, 52; taekwondo, 70; at paglangoy, 20.

Nag-sponsor ang San Miguel Corporation ng karagdagang kagamitan para sa sports camp.

Ang mga manlalaro ng Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots na sina Abu Tratter, Jio Jalalon, at Ian Sangalan, kasama ang iba pang propesyonal na basketball coach, ay nanguna sa isang sesyon ng pagsasanay para sa mga Navoteño basketball aspirants.

Samantala, dumagsa ang mga kabataang artista ng Navoteño sa arts camp para matuto ng gitara, boses, sayaw, visual arts, o theater arts.

Hinimok ni Tiangco ang mga magulang na patuloy na suportahan ang interes ng kanilang mga anak sa sining at palakasan.

“Arts and sports help develop our children’s characters. Let us support their interests and help them shine in whatever they choose to do,” sabi niya.
