Posted on: August 26th, 2022 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

“Nanibago ako, pero I enjoyed it and it also actually helped the internal action, the expression. One thing I learned in those action scenes, I’ve done physical before but on this scale, may sakalan.

What helped me is forget the physicality and just maintain the intention, the emotion, the internal action, and that’s how we pull it all together.”

“I really am very grateful also doon sa support and ‘yung the way out stunt instructor si Monching Baldomaro, was really helpful in telling me how to do things kasi yung mga physical na ‘yun… you also have to know how to do it properly para it’s safe for you and for everybody else.

“There’s more na kailangan nilang abangan sa last two weeks of ‘Apoy Sa Langit’. It will get darker and more intense.

Nakilala ang 73-year old singer dahil sa sumikat nitong mga songs na “The Morning After” at “We May Never Love Like This Again” noong dekada ’70.

“What I do, or what I am still able to accomplish, has changed. I can no longer travel or perform in live concerts. In fact, I can no longer drive — how’s that for a kick in the butt? Of course, it’s a challenge, but it certainly is not going to keep me from living my life. At first, I began having trouble finding, in my brain, the words I wanted to say. I struggled with the inevitable shock with fear and frankly hopelessness.

“But slowly I realized that my inner life has not changed. My passion for music, for singing, remains profoundly robust. To me, music is a language that expresses what often cannot be said with just words – it elevates, expands, and heals – brings joy and comfort and can eliminate barriers by creating meaningful experiences. So, accepting this new stage in my life, I began to embrace what I have and let it be.”

Kahit na may sakit, patuloy pa rin daw aawit at gagawa ng songs si McGovern para sa mga bata to raise awareness for music therapy.

Ang inawit ni McGovern na theme song ng 1972 film na ‘The Poseidon Adventure’ na “The Morning After” ay nanalo ng Best Original Song sa Academy Awards.

Nanalo rin na Best Original Song sa Oscar Awards ang inawit niyang “We May Never Love Like This Again” na theme song naman ng 1974 film na ‘The Towering Inferno’.

Fernando mandates temporary suspension of mining activities, demands DPWH, LTO, PNP, HPG to help crackdown overloading

Posted on: August 26th, 2022 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

CITY OF MALOLOS – To address the ongoing issue on dilapidated roads and over-mining in the province, Bulacan Governnor Daniel R. Fernando issued Executive Order No. 21 which mandated the temporary suspension of all mining permits, quarrying, dredging, desilting and other type of mineral extractive operations within Bulacan.

During the dialogue with the mining stakeholders and other affected sectors spearheaded by the Bulacan Environmental and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) at The Red Arc Events Place in Brgy. Wawa, Balagtas, Bulacan yesterday, Fernando discussed that he initiated the issuance of the Executive Order following the constant deterioration of roads caused by overloading of transport vehicles whether its volume is land minerals or other commodities.

Representatives from concerned agencies were also present during the dialogue for further planning, strict implementation and to support the Executive Order including the Bulacan Police Provincial Office headed by PCol. Charlie A. Cabradilla; Department of Public Works and Highways represented by Engr. Henry C. Alcantara, Bulacan 1st District Engineer; Provincial Mining Regulatory Board represented by Engr. Reynaldo Cruz from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau-Region 3 and the Land Transportation Office represented by Carina Macapagal, Chief of LTO Malolos District Office.

He said that the Department of Public Works and Highways, Land Transportation Office, Philippine National Police and Highway Patrol Group should act now and help address the long overdue problems on overloading and dilapidated roads.

I want your cooperation in this matter.

Fernando further explained that the implementation of the Executive Order will also give way to the pending evaluation of the Provincial Government to determine and come up with an updated matrix and policies for the mining stakeholders and trucking companies.

The governor said that these efforts also aim to support the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. as he steers the country toward further progress and development.

Meanwhile, BENRO Head Atty. Julius Victor Degala clarified that the province is currently enforcing the “no excessive volume policy” provided under the Provincial Ordinance C-005 or the Environmental Code of the Province of Bulacan which sets the limit of the volume per truck.

With the governor’s mandate, Degala will also implement strict surveillance at checkpoints and will set a certain means of verification in accordance to the policy.

The governor has given me orders and I will obey him.

In relation to this, Fernando also strictly emphasized his will to terminate illegal mining activities and over-mining in the province.

Meanwhile, E.O. No. 21 shall become effective in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Code and will be lifted once the goal is achieved.

Those who will be found violating the Executive Order shall pay a fine of P5,000 per violation; be imprisoned for not less than six months but not exceeding a year and have their permits revoked. (BISHOP JESUS “JEMBA” M. BASCO)

Posted on: August 26th, 2022 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

INAPRUBAHAN  ng House Committee on Ways and Means ang panukalang Package 4 of Republic Act 10963, o “Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law.”
