Administrasyong Marcos, nalampasan ang 2022 revenue target ng 2.2%

NALAMPASAN na ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang revenue target para sa 2022 ng 2.2%.

Ito ang inanunsyo ng Office of the Press Secretary (OPS), tinukoy ang report ng Department of Finance (DOF).

Sinabi ng OPS na ang lumabas na revenue collections mula sa Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) at Bureau of Customs (BOC) ay umabot sa P3.2 trillion base year-end report ng DoF.

Nalampasan ng nasabing halaga ang full-year 2022 Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC) target ng 2.2%, ayon sa DOF.

Pinangasiwaan din ng DoF ang pagsasagawa ng “grants at technical assistance” na nagkakahalaga ng $85.5 million.

“The Philippine Economic Briefings and Meetings with credit rating agencies such as Standard & Poor’s, and Fitch and Moody’s, where the economic team showcased the country’s bright economic prospects, were also a feat for the DOF,” ayon sa OPS.

Para sa taong 2023, kabilang sa plano ng DoF ang “rightsizing the agency’s bureaucracy, and continue pushing for key measures such as the Excise Tax on Single-Use Plastics, Value Added Tax on Digital Service Providers, Ease of Paying Taxes, and Mining Fiscal Regime.”

Tinatayang $19.1 billion na official development aid (ODA), $9.2 billion na loans o utang mula sa multilateral partners, at $9.8 billion na loans mula sa bilateral lenders ang tinatantyang ise-secure ng national government sa darating na taon. (Daris Jose)

LTFRB pinaigting ang panghuhuli ng mga aroganteng taxi drivers

MAS PINAIGTING pa ang panghuhuli ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) sa mga aroganteng taxi drivers sa mga terminals at malls na ayaw magsakay ng mga pasahero ngayon kapaskuhan.

May mahigit na 200 na mga aroganteng drivers ang nahuli kamakailan lamang dahil sa patuloy nilang masigasig na panghuhuli. May 214 na taxi drivers ang nahuli dahil sa iba’t ibang violations tulad ng contracting passengers, overcharging ng pasahe, ayaw magsakay ng pasahero, hindi paggamit ng taxi meter at kaso ng mga colorum na operasyon.

“Actually, this is a year-round campaign of LTFRB but when the holiday season and rush start, we have to intensify the campaign against the abusive drivers,” wika ng LTFRB.

Ang mga nahuhuling drivers ay dinadala sa legal division ng LTFRB para sa kaukulang pagdinig at imbestigasyon. Ang mga lumabag sa mga nasabing batas ay bibigyan ng multang P5,000 para sa unang huli, P10,000 sa ikalawang huli at kanselasyon ng prangkisa para sa ikatlong offense. Ang mga drivers ay bibigyan din ng penalty kapag napatunayan na totoo ang violations.

Ayon sa LTFRB, kanilang rerepasuhin ang polisiya sa mga violations at maaaring magkaron ng amienda upang mas mabigyan ng mas mataas na multa ang mga violations na gagawin ng mga taxi drivers.

Nakikipag-ugnayan din ang LTFRB sa Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) at iba pang sangay ng pamahalaan upang mahuli ang mga aroganteng taxi drivers.

Samantala, ang ride-hailing firm Grab ay hindi pumunta sa pagdinig na ginawa ng LTFRB upang bigyan ng liwanag ang reklamo tungkol sa surge fees na binabayad ng mga pasahero. Ang surge fee ay dapat bayaran kung rush hours lamang.

“We summoned Grab after receiving complaints from commuters of being charged with surge fee even during ordinary hours. We assured commuters that we will look into the issue to protect the people, who are already burdened with the soaring prices of basic commodities,” saad ng LTFRB.

Isang reklamo ang inihain ng anchorwoman mula sa isang radio station na ayon sa kanya ang regular fare niya sa Grab taxi ay P180 lamang subalit siya ay siningil ng P200 dahil sa surge fee. LASACMAR

Vice, Coco at Nadine, nanguna sa MMFF 2022… ‘Family Matters’ nina NOEL at LIZA, palaban din sa takilya at hahakot ng awards

DINAGSA at pinilahan ng manonood ang unang araw ng 48th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) nitong Linggo, Disyembre 25, 2022, araw ng Pasko.

Pagsapit ng ika-lima ng hapon 5:00 p.m., may post sa official Facebook page ng MMFF, “Napakaagang dinagsa at pinilahan sa takilya sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa ang walong pelikulang kalahok sa 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival sa unang araw pa lamang ng pagbubukas nito.”
Bandang 9:00 p.m., nag-post muli ang MMFF na may caption na, “Luzon! Visayas! Mindanao!! Maraming SALAMAT po sa inyong wagas na pagtangkilik sa 8 Pelikulang Pilipino na kalahok sa Metro Manila Film Festival.

“Bukas at sa mga susunod pang mga araw ay lalo pa nating pag alabin ang damdaming Pilipino na mahalin at tangkilikin ang pelikulang atin. Kaya manood na at makisaya! Panoorin ang walo!”

Naglabas din ng official statement si MMDDA Acting Chairman Atty. Romando Artes bilang pasasalamat:
“Ako, kasama ang buong pamunuan ng Metro Manila Film Festival, ay taos-pusong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng tumangkilik sa walong pelikulang bahagi ng MMFF 2022 sa unang araw pa lamang nito kahapon, Araw ng Pasko.

Tulak timbog sa buy bust sa Valenzuela, P238K shabu, nasamsam

MAHIGIT P.2 milyon halaga ng umano’y shabu ang nasamsam sa isang hinihinalang tulak ng illegal na droga matapos malambat sa isinagawang buy bust operation ng pulisya sa Valenzuela City.

Kinilala ni Valenzuela police chief P/Col. Salvador Destura Jr, ang naarestong suspek bilang si Jerome Luangco, 42 ng Bonbon Ville Brgy., Ugong, ng lungsod.

Sa report ni Col. Destura kay Northern Police District (NPD) District Director PBGEN Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr, dakong alas-8:40 ng umaga nang magsagawa ang mga operatiba ng Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) sa pangunguna ni PLt Joel Madregalejo ng buy bust operation sa Serapio St., Brgy. Gen T. De Leon matapos ang natanggap na impormasyopn hinggil sa pagbebenta umano ng suspek ng illegal na droga.

Sa tulong ng isang Regular Confidential Informant (RCI), nagawang makipagtransaksyon ng isang operatiba na nagsilbi bilang poseur buyer sa suspek ng P8,000 halaga ng droga.

Matapos matanggap ang pre-arrange signal mula sa poseur-buyer na hudyat na nakabili na siya ng droga sa kanilang target ay agad lumapit ang back-up na operatiba saka sinunggaban ang suspek.

Nakumpiska sa suspek ang humigi’t kumulang 35 grams ng hinihinalang shabu na may Standard Drug Price P238,000.00; buy bust money na isang tunay na P500, kasama ang 7 pirasong P1,000 at isang P500 boodle money, coin purse at P200 recovered money.

Pinuri naman National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director P/MGen. Jonnel Estomo ang Valenzuela City Police sa mahusay nilang trabaho na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto sa umano’y notoryus drug pusher.

Kasong paglabag sa Section 5 (Sale), at Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) ang isasampa ng pulisya kontra sa suspek sa Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office. (Richard Mesa)

AUSTRALIAN HACKER, DI PINAPASOK SA BANSA

PINAGBAWALAN ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang Australian hacker na nagtangkang pumasok ng Pilipinas.

Sinabi ni BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, na nasabat ng pamunuan ng BI’s Border Control and Enforcement Unit (BCIU) ang tangkang pagpasok ni Risteski Borche, 40, sakay ng isang Cebu Pacific flight mula Sydney sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 noong December 21.

Risteski na isang Australian ay origin ng Macedonian, ay kabilang sa Interpol alert.

Sinasabi na si Risteski ay wanted sa Macedonia dahil sa di awtorisadong pag-hack nito sa computer system na isang paglabag sa Article 251 ng criminal code sa Republika ng Macedonia. At nahaharap sa apat na taon na pagkabilanggo sa nasabing bansa.

Dahil dito, pinagbawalan siyang pumasok ng bansa at kasama ang kanyang pangalan sa BI’s blacklist. GENE ADSUARA

DSWD, nagpadala ng tulong sa mga flood victims sa Visayas, Mindanao

IKINASA na ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang relief operations sa mga lugar sa Visayas at Mindanao na apektado ng pagbaha.

Sinabi ng Malakanyang na ang relief operations ay ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Sa katunayan, sinimulan na ng DSWD field offices sa Eastern Visayas at Northern Mindanao ang pamamahagi ng family food packs sa flood-hit residents ng Eastern Samar, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Camiguin at Bukidnon.

Sinabi ni Grace Subon, DSWD regional director sa Eastern Visayas, na may 32,458 indibiduwal ang apektado ng pagbaha sa anim na bayan sa Eastern Samar (Jipapad, Oras, Arteche, Mercedes, Taft at Giporlos) nito lamang holiday weekend.

Aniya pa, nakikipag-ugnayan sila sa municipal government para sa pamamahagi ng 45,000 food packs at P10 million na standby funds.

Inihayag naman ni Ramel Jamen, DSWD regional director sa Northern Mindanao, na nagsimula na rin silang mamigay ng food at non-food relief items sa 9,342 pamilya o 45,687 indibiduwal sa mga lalawigan sa Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Camiguin at Bukidnon.

Sa mga apektado, sinabi ni Jamen na 9,256 pamilya o 45,242 indibidwal ang nananatili sa evacuation centers “as of 3 p.m. Sunday.”

Habang mahigit lamang sa 12,000 family food packs ang available sa kanilang field office, kaagad naman aniyang nag-request ng karagdagan mula sa kalapit na regional offices.

Ani Jamen, ang kanilang tanggapan ay mayroong P7.3 million na standby funds para sa relief operations.

Maliban sa family food packs at non-food relief items gaya ng modular tents, medical kits at hygiene kits, naghanda rin ang DSWD ng cash sa ilalim ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations program.

Samantala, wala namang na-monitor ang Pag-asa ng kahit na anumang tropical cyclone o low pressure area subalit “a shear line is causing moderate to heavy to at times intense rainfall in Eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands; and moderate to heavy rains over Southern Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and the rest of Caraga and the Visayas.” (Daris Jose)

“We sought to make Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody a rich, beautiful, moving, and very human tribute to a great talent – one of the greatest we will ever see,” says director Kasi Lemmons, who helms the film, joining forces with much of the creative team that brought the worldwide hit Bohemian Rhapsody to the screen, including screenwriter/producer Anthony McCarten. “She has a complicated story, in the way that all humans are complicated. We can relate to her and the struggles she went through, the pressures she faced, and we get to understand her.”

The film began when legendary music executive Clive Davis had a chance meeting with screenwriter/producer Anthony McCarten, fresh off the worldwide success of the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. “Over dinner in a New York restaurant, Clive proposed I consider Whitney as my next film project, promising that he could facilitate the introductions to the Houston estate that would be necessary to unlock access to the music, without which no story about a musician is worth undertaking,” says McCarten. “At first, I wasn’t sure there was a fresh, untold story of Whitney to be had, but the next day, Clive showed me a video of Whitney performing the ‘Impossible Medley,’ and I saw what the movie could be.”

McCarten was, of course, astounded to be reminded of the master class in voice control that is Houston’s performance at the 1994 AMAs. But he was concerned about presenting Houston’s story as a biopic. Isn’t Whitney Houston’s story a tragedy? But after a second meeting with Davis, McCarten turned his thinking around. “If we only judge artists by how long they live, Shakespeare’s life is a tragedy,” McCarten says. “Whitney’s life is a triumph. She gave us these extraordinary moments, these great performances. That story has not been told.”

And if there is a theme that runs through Houston’s work – a theme that provides a natural narrative arc for the film – it is the idea of the search for family, the search for home, the yearning for the deep connection that comes with love and affection – the Whitney Houston who deeply wanted to dance with somebody who loved her. “She’s just a girl from the neighborhood who wants to be loved, wants to have a home, wants to have people who care about her and love her, and wants to share her talent with the world,” says producer Jeff Kalligheri. That’s what we hear in her music, and that’s what she’s searching for in her life.”

Pagbibigay ng free legal aid sa uniformed personnel, magpapalakas sa morale, productivity ng law enforcers

ANG pagbibigay ng libreng legal assistance na naakaharap sa kaso na may kaugnayan sa kanyang tungkulin ay makakatulong para mapalakas ang morale at productivity ng mga unipormadong personnel sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP) at iba pang law enforcement agencies.

Ayon kay Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte, ang pagkaka-apruba ng House Bill 6509 sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ay isang hakbang para mabigyan ng legal protection sa mga unipormadong personnel na naakusahan ng mali habang ginagampanan ang kanilang tungkulin na mabunyag ang mga high-profile criminal syndicates.

Ang HB 6509, ay pinagsama-samang panukalang batas nina Duterte at Benguet Rep. Eric Yap, at iba pang panukalang batas ukol sa military and uniformed personnel (MUP) ng AFP, PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

“Free legal assistance will strengthen our uniformed personnel’s morale, safeguarding them from unfortunate circumstances that may come with performing their sworn duties. This free legal assistance, in the premise that is not misused, could serve as an incentive and boost productivity,” pahayag nina Duterte at Yap kasunod ng panawagan para sa agarang pagpasa ng paukala.

Sa ilalim ng bill, ang sinumang MUP na nakaharap sa kasong kriminal, civil o administrative charges na service-related incidents sa prosecutor’s office, korte, administrative body, o anumang tribunal, ay mabibigyan ng free legal assistance.

Patuloy pa ring mabibigyan ng free legal aid ang mga ito hanggang sa pagreretiro sa serbisyo.

Nanawagan naman ito sa senado na ipasa ang counterpart measure ng HB 6509 kapag nagbalik sesyon ang kongreso sa susunod na buwan. (Ara Romero)

Kelot isinelda sa baril sa Caloocan

BAGSAK sa loob ng rehas na bakal ang isang lalaki matapos mahulihan ng baril sa Caloocan City, kahapon ng madaling araw.

Kinilala ni Caloocan police chief P/Col. Ruben Lacuesta ang naarestong suspek bilang si Jeffrey Gumaru, 37 ng Brgy. 118 ng lungsod.

Sa ulat ni Col. Lacuesta kay Northern Police District (NPD) District Director PBGEN Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr, habang nagsasagawa ng Oplan Galugad ang mga tauhan ng Sub-Station 2 ng Caloocan police sa pangunguna ni P/Capt. Romel Caburog sa 3rd Avenue, Brgy. 118 dakong alas-3 ng madaling araw nang mapansin nila ang suspek na kahina-hinala habang gumagala sa nasabing lugar.

Nang lapitan ng mga pulis para beripikahin ang kanyang pagkakilanlan ay tinangkang umiwas at tumakas ng suspek subalit, naaresto din siya kalaunan ng mga parak.

Nang kapkapan, nakumpiska sa kanya ang isang cal. 38 revolver na may isang bala at nang hanapan ng kaukulang mga dokumento para sa nasabing baril ay walang maipakita ang suspek.

Kasong paglabag sa Article 151 of RPC (Disobedience of Person in Authority and His Agent) of RPC, and Violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions) ang isasampa ng pulisya kontra sa suspek sa Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office. (Richard Mesa)
