ASAHAN ang mas maraming groundbreaking performances mula sa award-winning actor at Kapuso Drama King na si Dennis Trillo, sa muli niyang pag-renew ng kontrata sa GMA Network na ginanap noong Oktubre 10.

Bahagi ito ng selebrasyon para sa kanyang ika-20 anibersaryo bilang Kapuso.
Pumirma para sa GMA sina Chairman at Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Presidente at Chief Operating Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Executive Vice President at Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, at Senior Vice President para sa Entertainment Group na si Lilybeth G. Rasonable.

Kumatawan naman sa Aguila Entertainment ang Talent Manager at CEO nito na si Katrina Aguila.

Dumalo rin sa event ang Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications ng GMA Network na si Angela Javier Cruz, Vice President for Business Development Department I Cheryl Ching-Sy, Vice President for Business Development Department II Janine Piad-Nacar, Consultant for Business Development Department III Darling de Jesus-Bodegon, Vice President for Business Development Department III Gigi Santiago-Lara, Assistant Vice President for Business Development Department II Enri Calaycay, Assistant Vice President for Drama Helen Rose S. Isa nga si Dennis sa pinakamalaking pangalan sa Philippine showbiz. Binibigyang-buhay niya ang mga karakter nang may utmost authenticity at bilang isang patunay sa kanyang kahanga-hanga na talento, ang aktor ay nakakuha ng ilang mga pagkilala.

Inamin naman ni Dennis na ‘di pa rin siya makapaniwala sa mga ‘di matatawang accomplishments sa nakalipas na dalawang dekada.

“Naalala ko ‘yung pakiramdam nung unang pagtungtong ko rito sa GMA. Para kang pumapasok sa bagong teritoryo, bagong tahanan. Hindi mo alam kung anong mangyayari sa career mo. “Now, feeling fulfilled ako na na-achieve ko ang mga pangarap ko. Sobrang blessed na hanggang ngayon nandito pa rin ako sa industriya.

“Hindi ko akalain na tatagal ako ng 20 years kaya napaka-special ng araw at renewal ng contract na ito,” pahayag ng aktor na gabi-gabing napapanood sa ‘Love Before Sunrise’ na kung saan katambal niya si Bea Alonzo.

Ni-reveal naman ni Ms. Lilibeth na palaging challenge sa Entertainment Group na maka-create ng out-of-the-box characters na babagay sa Kapuso Drama King.

“He’s very capable and actually kami ang nacha-challenge na isipan ng roles si Dennis kasi he really performs to the best of his abilities and nagagampanan niya beyond our expectations. That’s why we want to give the roles that he deserves because napakahusay talaga niya.”

Sa paglipas ng mga taon, napatunayan ni Dennis ang kanyang magnetic charisma, walang kaparis na kahusayan, at likas na pagkahilig sa kanyang craft.

IT’S HERE. WARNER BROS. RELEASES TRAILER FOR THE MUSICAL DRAMA “THE COLOR PURPLE”

THE 1985 film of Steven Spielberg. The Color Purple drove fans to tears of heartbreak, anger, and victory.

The film, which was nominated for eleven Academy Awards, portrayed the adversity and triumph of Celie Harris, played by Whoopi Goldberg, and other black women in the south in the early 1900s.

It’s a story of black female struggle, with elements that still hold true today in modern America. The film was adapted from Alice Walker’s 1982 novel of the same name.

Oprah Winfrey was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in the film, and she credits the movie for her current success.

The Broadway musical adaptation, written by playwright Marsha Norman, first performed in 2005 and then again in 2015, was nominated for eleven Tony awards in 2006, winning one, and won two Tony awards in 2016.

Though both adaptations were based on Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, the new film adaptation will be based on the Broadway musical.

A bold new take on the beloved classic boasts a star-studded cast that includes Taraji P. Henson, H.E.R., Halle Bailey and Fantasia Barrino, in her film debut.

Produced by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders and Quincy Jones.

Isa sa host ng show na papalit muna sa ‘It’s Showtime’: MELAI, ‘di na-imagine na bibida sa movie na kukunan sa South Korea

Nitong Miyerkules kasi, may nangyari sa nanay ni Maggie kunsaan, inaresto raw ito ng mga pulis sa salang carnapping.

‘Yun nga lang, ang inaresto at pinagbintangan na nag-carnap ay walang lisensiya at hindi marunong mag-drive.

Hindi man pinangalanan ni Maggie, pero madaling mahulaan kung sino ang pinaghihinalaan niyang may pakana ng lahat.

Nag-post din si Maggie kunsaan, nagbigay siya ng paliwanag kung paano siya ang pagbibintangan na nag-e-extort ng pera, gayong kabaligtaran daw ang nangyayari.

Excited pa namang mag-show kasama si Boobay: JULIE ANNE at RAYVER, nakabalik na ng bansa mula sa Israel

NAKABALIK na ng Pilipinas sina Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz at Boobay mula sa bansang Israel.

Dumating sila noong October 9 ng gabi sa Clark International Airport.

Excited pa naman ang JulieVer loveteam sa dapat na show sa Tel Aviv. Noong September pa nila pino-promote ang show para abangan sila ng ating mga kababayan doon.

Gaganapin sana ang show ng JulieVer loveteam na “Luv Trip Na, Laff Trip Pa” sa Smolarz Auditorium at the Tel Aviv University noong October 7.

Nakansela ang kanilang show sanhi ng pag-atake ng militant Hamas forces sa bansang Israel.

Pinost ng Sparkle GMA Artist Center ang pagdating nila Julie, Rayver at Boobay sa Pampanga.

Ayon pa sa report: “The postponed show was caused by the gun and armed war in northern Israel which had killed hundreds of people, with the death toll still still rising. The Islamist group from Gaza launched an attack because of the conflict between Israel and Palestine which stems back to the late 19th and early 20th century over the sovereignty of their territories.”

NAKA-ONE year na pala bilang Kapuso at Sparkle artist ang Cebuana island girl at content creator na si Shuvee Entrata.

Thankful si Shuvee dahil sa mga projects na binigay sa kanya tulad ng teleserye na ‘Hearts On Ice’ at bilang segment host sa ‘Unang Hirit’.

Ngayon ay gumaganap siyang best friend ni Jillian Ward sa one month special ng ‘Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko: Captain Kitten.’

Huling napanood sa Marvel Film na ‘Eternals’ si Jolie noong 2021. Ngayon ay naghahanda siya sa shooting ng pelikulang Maria na tungkol sa “tumultuous, beautiful and tragic story of the life of the world’s greatest opera singer, relived and reimagined during her final days in 1970s Paris.”

Mula ito sa direksyon ni Pablo Larraín na nagdirek ng mga pelikulang ‘Spencer’ at ‘Jackie’ kunsaan nakakuha ng best actress nomination sa Oscar Awards sina Kristen Stewart at Natalie Portman.

Excited na makatrabaho ni Pablo si Jolie dahil alam niyang bagay rito ang role na Maria Callas.

Buhay ‘gumanda’ para sa 33% ng Pinoy, mas mababa pa rin vs pre-pandemic — SWS

MAS UMAYOS daw ang pamumuhay ng 33% ng Pilipino sa nakalipas na 12 buwan ayon sa pinakahuling pag-aaral ng Social Weather Stations (SWS), ito sa kabila ng mas mabilis na pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin.

Ito ang ibinahagi ng survey firm nitong Martes. Nagmula aniya ito sa face-to-face interviews sa 1,500 katao mula Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao mula ika-28 ng Hunyo hanggang ika-1 ng Hulyo.

lumala pamumuhay: 22%

walang nagbago: 45%

“The resulting Net Gainers score is +11 (% Gainers minus % Losers), classified by SWS as very high (+10 to +19,” paliwanag ng SWS kahapon.

“The June 2023 Net Gainer score was 6 points above the high +5 in March 2023. However, it is still 7 points below the pre-pandemic level of very high +18 in December 2019.”

Ang “net gainers” classication, na nakukuha sa pag-awas ng porysento ng gumanda sa lumala, ay kumakatawan sa sumusunod:

Karaniwang negatibo ang net gainer score simula 1983. Bagama’t nagsimula itong tumaas at makakuha ng mga positibong numero simula 2015, bumaba ito ito pagdating ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Paakyat na ito uli ngunit hindi pa rin nakababalik sa mga numero bago pumasok ang nakamamatay na COVID-19.

Kapansin-pansing mas kanti pa rin ang mga “mas gumanda ang buhay” ngayon kumpara noong Disyembre 2019, panahon kung kailan hindi pa nagpapatupad ng malawakang lockdowns laban sa COVID-19:

gumanda buhay: 39%

lumala pamumuhay: 21%

Umakyat ang net gainers sa Metro Manila mula “high” patungong “very high” kumpara noong Marso, bagay na mas mataas ng 16 puntos (+2 patungong +18). Nanatili ito sa “very high” sa Balance Luzon sa matapos hindi gaano gumalaw mula +12 patungong +13.

“It rose sharply from mediocre to very high in the Visayas, up by 24 points from -14 to +10,” sabi pa ng SWS.

“It stayed high in Mindanao, although down by 4 points from +6 to +2.”

Nanatili naman itong “excellent” sa mga college graduates, “very high” sa junior high school graduates, “fair” sa elementary graduates at “high” sa hindi nagtapos ng elementarya.

Hindi kinomisyon ng mga pribadong indibidwal ng SWS survey at ginawa aniya sa sariling inisyatiba bilang serbisyo publiko.

Lumabas ang mga naturang balita kahit dalawang magkasunod na buwan nang bumibilis ang presyo ng bilihin at gastusin buhat ng mahal na pagkain.

Matatandaang lumobo sa 6.1% ang inflation rate nitong Setyembre, habang 74% ng mga Pilipino ang nagsasabing gumastos sila nang mas malaki para sa pagkain.

Sa kabila nito, mas mababa ang huling unemployment rate na naitala ng Philippine Statistics Authority sa 4.4%.

INILAGAY na ng Department of Foreign Affairs ang Alert Level 2 sa Israel sa gitna ng nagpapatuloy na giyera doon. Ito ang inihayag ni DFA Usec. Eduardo de Vega.

Sa ilalim ng Alert Level 2 o Restricted Phase, bawal na ang pagpapadala ng mga bagong manggagawa duon.

Pero ayon kay de Vega, sa ngayon ay status quo naman ang deployment ng overseas Filipino workers sa Israel.

Paliwanag ng opisyal, ang estado para sa caregivers ay sumasailalim pa sa negosasyon mula noong 2020.

Naka-hold naman ang higit 100 hotel workers na may schedule dapat na bumiyahe dahil hinihintay pa ng pamahalaan ang go signal ng kanilang counterpart sa Israel. (Daris Jose)

51 Pinoy sa Gaza, humiling ng ma-repatriate dahil sa banta sa kanilang seguridad – PH envoy to Jordan

AABOT na sa 51 Pilipino sa Gaza ang humiling para sa repatriation dahil banta sa kanilang seguridad sa gitna ng nagpapatuloy na giyera sa pagitan ng Israeli forces at militanteng Hamas ayon kay PH Ambassador to Jordan Wilfredo Santos.

Ayon pa sa PH envoy, tinatalakay na nila ito kasama ang iba pang mga embahada kung paano makakatulong para sa posibleng repatriation.

Sinabi din ng envoy na lahat ng 139 Pilipino sa Gaza ay ligtas sa gitna ng tumitindi pang bakbakan sa pagitan ng Israel at Hamas.

May ilan naman aniyang mga turista na may asawang palestinian na hindi pa nag-request na ma-repatriate

Siniguro din ng envoy na mayroong nakalatag na contingency plan at patuloy na nakikipag-ugnayan sa lahat ng Pinoy sa Gaza at nakabantay sa kanilang kondisyon. (Daris Jose)
