“I believe that sad songs have a stronger impact. Music is more powerful when it evokes emotions. Kapag sumulat ako ng sad Christmas song, I am transported back to my childhood, when I was a kid with no problems, just receiving gifts, eating, and having fun. I want to feel and relive that feeling. And that longing feeling is also what they will hear in the songs that I write,” sey ni Papa Obet.

“The song is for people who need companionship this Christmas, especially those in faraway places, like yung mga OFWs na malayo sa pamilya nila this Christmas. Yung pangungulila. It’s the time of the year when we’re supposed to be surrounded by the people we love, but for some people, that’s not the case. Iba-iba ang feelings ng tao tuwing Pasko. May masaya, may malungkot.”

Posted on: November 29th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

“Naalala n’yo yung ‘3 Men and A Baby’? Ito 3 Men and A Sweetheart.’

“This is my first directorial job. May script na kami, may cast na kami, and excited ako for this. This is happening before Christmas,” masayang balita ni Alden.

“Sobrang worth it kasi lahat ng pagod namin, all of the producers, GMA, Cornerstone, and Myriad Entertainment, this is the fruit of it. This is the reward of it, and this goes to show talaga na ‘pag you work hand-in-hand with your partners; whatever your project is, or kung ano mang meron kayo na pinagtatrabahuhan, all together will prosper,” sey ni Alden na mapapanood kasama si Sharon Cuneta sa Metro Manila Film Fest entry na ‘Family of Two (A Mother and Son Story)’.

Posted on: November 29th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

Na, ‘Si Regine, at fifty-three, ay magra-rock and roll sa concert niya? Kaya ba niya?’

Regine Rocks!

Joaquin Phoenix Unveils the Intricacies of ‘Napoleon’ in Ridley Scott’s Latest Epic

Posted on: November 29th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

DISCOVER Joaquin Phoenix’s transformative journey into the mind of Napoleon Bonaparte in Ridley Scott’s cinematic masterpiece. Experience the blend of history and drama in “Napoleon.”

Ridley Scott’s latest cinematic venture, “Napoleon,” brings back Academy Award® winner Joaquin Phoenix, not as the infamous Joker, but as the legendary French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.

Scott, reminiscing their time on “Gladiator,” instantly recognized Phoenix as the ideal fit for this intricate role. “I saw him and it all came flooding back – how we worked on Gladiator, and what journey he went on with that character, and I thought, ‘God damn, there’s Napoleon.’” Scott shares.

Unearthing the Layers: Phoenix’s Discovery of Napoleon

Phoenix, initially unfamiliar with the depths of Napoleon’s persona, admits to being captivated by the complexities he unearthed. “I found him to be a much more complex person than I initially imagined, especially the dynamic between him and Josephine,” says the actor who plays Napoleon. “I found him mysterious, and that mystery is something that is always interesting to explore.” Phoenix reveals, delving into the enigmatic character of the Emperor. This intriguing mystery became a cornerstone in Phoenix’s portrayal.

Behind the Scenes: The Director-Actor Synergy

Producer Mark Huffam highlights the unique bond between Scott and Phoenix, a synergy that transcends mere collaboration. “Ridley and Joaquin like to challenge each other on a regular basis, but it’s always done with a smile,” says Huffam. “Joaquin had his concerns about taking on the role, and I think anybody would about this character. But thanks to conversations with Ridley, he got comfortable with it quite quickly and he is fantastic.”

For Scott, rekindling this partnership was nothing short of exhilarating. “He’s the only actor where we talk for weeks beforehand, just chatting and arguing in an office over aspects of the character. At the end, we are on the same page,” says the director. “He’s good for me, because he keeps me honest, and I’m good for him, because I keep him in line. Physically, he’s perfect for the role – some of his facial features are strikingly similar to Napoleon’s,” Scott remarks.

The Art of Spontaneity: Phoenix’s Approach to Character Building

Phoenix credits Scott’s meticulous groundwork for granting him the artistic liberty to explore and embody Napoleon on set. ““What I like is not having it all figured out in my head beforehand – I like to have several possibilities to play with on the day,” explains Phoenix. “Ridley not only allows that process, he encourages it – he wants you to move as freely as the character would.”

About “Napoleon”

The film, directed by Ridley Scott, is a visually stunning action epic depicting Napoleon Bonaparte’s tumultuous rise and fall. Phoenix’s portrayal of Bonaparte is complemented by Vanessa Kirby’s depiction of Josephine, his great love. Set against the backdrop of monumental battle scenes and political intrigue, the film is a testament to Scott’s mastery in large-scale filmmaking.

“Napoleon” is now showing in cinemas, exclusively distributed in the Philippines by Columbia Pictures, a division of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Engage with the film using the hashtag #Napoleon.

74.5K PDLs, pinalaya mula sa BJMP-run jails sa unang 10 buwan ng 2023

Posted on: November 29th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

“The solution here is not building new jails. The right solution is to avoid committing crimes and not return to jails anymore. The theme here is correction — correcting mistakes,” ayon kay Abalos.  (Daris Jose)

Director James Wan Takes Beyond Atlantis in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”

Posted on: November 29th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments
DISCOVER new worlds, mythical quests, and the challenges of Arthur and Orm. Immerse yourself in a world of color, fantasy, and epic storytelling.

James Wan, the acclaimed director of “Aquaman,” is back with a vibrant sequel, “Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.” This time, the underwater world of Atlantis is not just revisited but expanded, revealing new, unseen realms that promise to captivate audiences.

Atlantis, in the sequel, is portrayed as more vivid and lively than ever. But the true allure lies in the exploration of entirely new territories, including the enigmatic Lost Kingdom, Necrus. In the first film, we glimpsed the richness of the seven Kingdoms of Atlantis, with Necrus being the unexplored frontier, now ready to be unveiled.

James Wan’s creative vision transports viewers to Necrus, drawing inspiration from the remote and icy landscapes of Antarctica. This novel setting in the Aquaman universe introduces an array of unique visual elements and dark, mysterious creatures, a hallmark of Wan’s directorial style.

Creating Necrus became a cinematic endeavor in itself. Despite the English summer setting at Leavesden Studios, Wan’s team recreated Antarctica’s frozen tundra. Giant fans simulated snowstorms, while the cast, adorned in high-tech cold weather costumes, navigated an icy world. The crew, in shorts, battled the glare of the white set. The result is a breathtaking frozen kingdom brought to life with real-world location plates and aerial footage from Antarctica, Greenland, and Iceland.

Producer Peter Safran highlights the film’s visual splendor, emphasizing James Wan’s talent in bringing fantastical colors and environments to the screen, “James Wan has an incredible ability to capture the colors and the fantasy that exist in these never-before-seen worlds,” says Safran. “We wanted to take the audience on a travelogue of these astounding new environments above and below the surface… By embracing the mythic nature of Aquaman’s quest and combining it with these stunning visuals, James gives us something uniquely compelling—it is worldbuilding and visual storytelling at its zenith.”

Despite the out-of-this-world settings, “Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom” stays grounded in its characters’ human aspects. The sequel delves into the relationship between Arthur (Jason Momoa) and Orm (Patrick Wilson), portraying them as brothers overcoming differences for a greater cause. The formidable Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) adds a darker layer to the narrative, driven by love and vengeance. This action-packed adventure delves deeper into character development and promises an engaging, immersive experience.

At the core of this story is Arthur/Aquaman, portrayed with the signature charm and humor by Jason Momoa. The sequel explores his dual role as both a father and a king, navigating the challenges and responsibilities that come with his position in Atlantis.

Joining the adventure are familiar faces like Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Dolph Lundgren, and Randall Park, reprising their roles and adding depth to this rich cinematic universe.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom” is set to premiere exclusively in cinemas on December 20. This film is not just a sequel but a leap into uncharted cinematic waters, offering an experience that combines visual wonder with heartfelt storytelling.

Rehabilitasyon ng Lagusnilad, tapos na

Posted on: November 29th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

smart

(Gene Adsuara)
