From Academy Award nominated-director Denis Villeneuve comes Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ Dune, the big-screen adaptation of Frank Herbert’s seminal bestseller of the same name.

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet), a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

Dune was originally released in 2021 to critical and audience acclaim. The film received several nominations at the 94th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and won Best Original Score, Best Sound, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, and Best Visual Effects.

The Guardian praised the film, saying, “Dune reminds us what a Hollywood blockbuster can be.” Empire gave Dune five out of five stars, lauding the actors’ performances, particularly Timothee Chalamet’s: “Among the uniformly excellent performances, Timothée Chalamet holds his own in his first blockbuster leading role. In a film this size, there’s every chance he’d get swallowed up by the sandworm-like enormity of everything around him–but even against the colossal spectacle, the magnetic charisma he displayed in smaller indie fare shines through.” On Rotten Tomatoes, Dune earned a certified fresh audience rating of 90%.

On top of such accolades, Dune also boasts a successful box office run, taking in USD 402 million globally.

Continue the journey as Dune: Part Two opens in Philippine cinemas on February 28.

Denis Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Frank Herbert’s novel. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is again on hand to create the score.

Pagdeklarang Nat’l Shrine sa Quiapo Church ikinatuwa ng Manila LGU

Posted on: February 3rd, 2024 by @peoplesbalita No Comments
(Leslie Alinsunurin)

LTO: “No registration, No travel”

Posted on: February 3rd, 2024 by @peoplesbalita No Comments
“We still have a long way to go at LTO but with hard work, strategic planning and implementation, and the dedication to road safety of all our personnel, I am confident that we will finally reach our target,” wika ni LTO assistant secretary Vigor Mendoza.
“We understand these concerns and this is the reason why we have been strengthening our coordination and interoperability with the PCG and other law enforcement agencies against these colorum vehicles,” dagdag ni Mendoza.
“I am personally monitoring both our law enforcement operations and the information drive, and I commend our officials and personnel for this positive result. The figures are encouraging, and I am confident that more vehicles will be registered in the coming days,” saad ni Mendoza.

Posted on: February 3rd, 2024 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

“Sabi mo ngayon, ‘yung PDEA wala raw record. Itong mga PDEA, mga ugok ‘to. Sino ba namang PDEA magbigay…

“But anyway, hanapin ko ‘yun. As soon as it is in my hands, I will release it,” dagdag na pahayag nito sabay sabing “Yung Presidente manghingi ng sarili niyang derogatory report, ibigay mo?

(Daris Jose)
