DOH Sec. Herbosa, humingi ng tulong sa media para itaas ang kamalayan ng publiko ukol sa kahalagahan ng bakuna

HUMINGI ng tulong si Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa Jr. sa mga miyembro ng media na itaas ang kamalayan ng publiko hinggil sa kahalagahan ng bakuna.

Sa press briefing sa Malakanyang, sinabi ng Kalihim ang kahalagahan ng malawak na information drive para maturuan ang mga Filipino lalo na iyong mula sa mas mababang socioeconomic classes na nakikinig at naniniwala sa ‘rumors’ o tsismis na nakadaragdag sa pangamba o takot sa bakuna.

“He (Marcos) was asking for a massive campaign so I do hope matulungan niyo ang Department of Health in that aspect,” ayon kay Herbosa.

“Our lower socioeconomic classes, nakikinig sa rumor and then naniniwala sa rumor. So, we hope [to correct that] with valid information,” dagdag na wika nito.

Sa kabilang dako, ipatutupad naman na ng DOH “big catch-up plan”.

Layon nito na ibalik ang immunization rate ng bansa.

Tanggap kasi ni Herbosa ang pagkabigo ng DOH na makamit ang nilalayon na pagbabakuna sa 95% ng mga batang Filipino sa bansa.

Sinabi ni Herbosa na ang coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic ang dahilan ng pagkakaantala ng ‘immunization of vaccines’ sa mga batang pinoy.

“To date, only 71 percent of children nationwide are fully immunized,” ang sinabi ng Kalihim.

“We’re hoping every year, nakaka-95 percent tayo . Seventy-one lang ang nakukuha natin. With these two programs, ‘yung schools-based at saka big catch-up, we’re hoping to increase that by the end of the year by December,” aniya pa rin.

“Ganito iyan, after ma-catch up mo siya to 95 every year, may natitirang 5 percent so hinahabol namin ulit iyan. Every three years, nagkakaroon nang tinatawag na (It’s like this, after you catch up to 95 every year, there is a remaining 5 percent so we have to address the backlog. Every three years, there is a so-called) supplemental immunization activity,” lahad ng Kalihim.

Tinuran pa ni Herbosa na tutugunan din ng gobyerno ang ilang hamon sa pagbabakuna sa mga bata kabilang na ang ‘logistics at supply management.’

Target naman ni Herbosa ang mandatory submission ng vaccination data mula sa private pediatricians.

Sinabi pa nito na maaaring makatutulong ito para itaas ang bilang ng mga bakunadong bata ng 10%.

“Sa national immunization program, when we present data, hindi kasama yung data ng mga pediatrician sa private. Hindi ‘yun nirereport. So, we miss the data by 10 to 15 percent. So, I’m trying to find a way to make it mandatory or online para madali lang mareport yung ilang mga batang binakunahan niyo para maka-count namin. I’m sure our figures will increase by 10 percent,” aniya pa rin. (Daris Jose)

Pinas magdedeploy ng panibagong barko sa Escoda Shoal

TINIYAK ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) na plano ng Pilipinas na magdeploy muli ng panibagong barko sa Escoda Shoal, kapalit ng BRP Teresa Magbanua.

Matatandaang nitong Linggo ay bumalik at dumaong na ang BRP Teresa Magbanua sa pantalan ng Puerto Princesa, Palawan bunsod na rin ng kawalan ng sapat na suplay, gaya ng pagkain at tubig, at pagkakasakit ng ilang tripulante nito.

Kinumpirma naman ni PCG spokesperson for West Philippine Sea Commodore Jay Tarriela na may iba pang mga barko na plano ng Pilipinas na ipadalang muli sa Escoda Shoal.

Hindi pa nagbigay ng petsa at detalye si Tarriela kung kailan ito magaganap ngunit sinabing ito’y sa lalong madaling panahon.

Paniniguro pa niya, pananatilihin ng Pilipinas ang presensiya sa naturang pinag-aagawang teritoryo.

Abril nang ipadala ng Pilipinas ang BRP Teresa Magbanua sa Escoda Shoal upang magbantay kasunod ng ulat ng nagsasagawa umano ng reclamation sa lugar ang mga Chinese. (Daris Jose)

Alice Guo, Cassandra Li Ong at Atty. Harry Roque, ipatatawag sa Quad Comm

INIMBITAHAN ng Quad Committee ngayong Huwebes sina Alice Guo. Cassandra li Ong at Atty. Harry Roque, kung saan sesentro sa operasyon ng illegal pogo hubs ang ika-anim na pagdinig ng Quad Committee.

Ayon kay Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers, tagapamuno ng Quad Comm, iimbitahan ng komite sina Alice Guo, Cassandra Li Ong at dating Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque.

Sinabi ni Barbers, sumulat ang Quad Comm sa RTC Branch 282 ng Valenzuela City na may hurisdiksiyon sa kaso ni Guo o Guo Hua Ping para payagan na makadalo sa hearing sa Huwebes.

Si Ong naman ay nasa custody ng Kamara at kasalukuyang naka-detain sa detention facility ng Kamara.

Nananatili naman na pinaghahanap ng mga otoridad si Roque matapos ipag-utos ng Quad Comm ang pag-aresto dahil sa pagkabigong isumite ang required documents para patunayan na wala siyang kaugnayan sa operasyon ng mga illegal pogo hubs.

Ni-request na rin ng Quad Comm sa Bureau of Immigration na maglabas ng hold departure order laban kay Rpque dahil itinuturing na siya na fugitive o pinaghahanap ng batas.

Samantala, nilinaw ni Barbers, nanatili ang kanilang imbitasyon kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na humarap sa Quad Comm hearing dahil sa pagkakasangkot hindi lamang sa pogo kundi sa mga extra judicial killings. (Daris Jose)

Guo pinapa-obligang maglabas ng record kung paano nagastos ang P1.1-B sa kaniyang account

IPINAG-UTOS ni Senate committee on women, children, family relations and gender equality chairman Senator Sherwin Gatchalian ang pagpapalabas ng subpoena para obligahin si dating Bamban Mayor Alice Guo na maglabas ng mga records ukol sa nadiskubreng check disbursements na nagkakahalaga ng P1.1 bilyon mula sa kaniyang account.

Dagdag pa ni Gatchalian na hindi maipaliwanag ni Guo sa check disbursement mula 2018 hanggang 2024 kung ang nasabing halaga ay ginamit sa pagpapagawa ng Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO).

Sa nasabing pagdinig ay makailang iginiit ni Guo na ang nasabing halaga ay ginamit sa pagpapagawa ng kaniyang farm.

Hindi rin aniya masabi ni Guo kung saan nanggaling at napunta ang pera.

Tiniyak naman sa kanya ni Guo na kaniyang ibibigay ang record na hinahanap ng committee at hindi na niya ito masasagot sa pagdinig dahil sa nahaharap na ito sa kaso sa Anti Money Laundering Committee na 87 counts ng money laundering. (Daris Jose)

Ex-PNP chief ‘tumulong’ sa pagtakas ni Alice Guo

ISANG dating hepe ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang umano’y tumanggap ng suhol para tulungang makalabas ng bansa sina dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo at ang kanyang mga kapatid kahit na nasa ilalim na sila ng immigration lookout bulletin.

Sa pagpapatuloy ng pagdinig ng Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations at Gender Equality tungkol sa mga illegal na Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) tinanong ni Sen. Risa Hontiveros ang mga opisyal ng law enforcement agencies kung may bagong detalye tungkol sa sinasabing P200 milyon na suhulan.

“Kapani-paniwala ba ‘yung ganyang impormasyon na meron daw mataas na BI official na tumanggap ng P200-M para patakasin si Guo Hua Ping?” tanong ni Hontiveros.

Nauna nang ibinunyag ni Hontiveros na ibinigay ni Guo at ng kanyang mga kapatid ang pera para makalabas ng bansa sa hindi natukoy ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) at iba pang law enforcement agencies.

Ayon kay Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Senior Vice President of Security and Monitoring Cluster Retired General Raul Villanueva na may nakalap silang impormasyon na isang dating PNP chief umano ang tumanggap ng panunuhol.

“Di ko lang alam ‘yong sa exact amount including PNP officials. Hindi ko makumpirma dahil nasa labas ako ng loop, kamakailan. At abala kami ngayon sa pagtulong sa mga law enforcement agencies na humahabol sa mga ilegal na Pogos sa kanayunan o sa mga probinsya,” ani Villanueva.

Nilinaw ni Villanuena na hindi PNP unit ang sangkot kundi mga personalidad.

“Hindi PNP unit (Not PNP unit) but personalities…I think it was mentioned that… a former chief of PNP,” ani Villanueva.

“I don’t know kung anong exact aid ang sinupport but hindi pa naconfirm ‘yan kung nagbigay, nabigyan o tinanggap or may witnesses. ‘Yon lang po ang naririnig namin sa intelligence community. I’m out of the loop lately, ‘di ko rin ma-confirm,” sabi pa ni Villanueva.

Hindi niya rin alam ang pangalan “maliban sa ilang tsismis sa intelligence community na [ito ay] dating hepe ng PNP.” (Daris Jose)

Alvarez napanatili ang kanyang belt matapos talunin si Berlanga

NAPANATILI ni Mexican boxer Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez ang kaniyang unified super middleweight world title.

Ito ay matapos makuha ang unanimous decision sa paghaharap niya kay Edgar Berlanga sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pinabagsak ni Alvarez si Berlanga sa ikatlong round at mula noon ay pinaulanan niya ito ng mga suntok.

Sa ika-siyam na round ay muling pinatumba ni Alvarez ang Puerto Rican-American boxer.

Noong Hulyo ay tinanggalan si Alvarez ng kaniyang International Boxing Federation belt dahl sa hindi nito tinanggap ang laban kay Berlanga at sa halip at mas ninais na makalaban ang IBF mandatory challenger William Scull.

Mayroon ng 62 panalo, dalawang talo at dalawang draw na may 39 knockouts si Alvarez habang ang 27-anyos na si Berlanga ay mayroong 22 panalo at isang talo.

Lassiter kasama na sa PBA history

KASAMA na ngayon ang pangalan ni San Miguel outside sniper Marcio Lassiter sa kasaysayan ng Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Nagsalpak si Lassiter ng apat na three-point shots sa 131-82 paglampaso ng Beermen sa Ginebra Gin Kings noong Linggo sa PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup para maging bagong all-time leading three-point scorer.

Nagtala ang 37-anyos na Fil-Am shooter ng 1,252 triples para ungusan ang 1,250 triples ni PBA great Jimmy Alapag na inilista nito noong 2016 habang naglalaro para sa Meralco.

Ginawa ito ni ‘Super Marcio’ sa first period pa lamang ng nasabing laro.

“I’m just truly honored and blessed to be in this position, and yeah, words can’t describe how I feel. I’m just overwhelmed with a lot of emotions right now,” wika ng 10-time PBA champion shooting guard.

Sa halftime ay ibinigay ni PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial sa produkto ng Cal State Fullerton ang game ball na ginamit sa laro at sinamahan ng kanyang asawa at limang anak.

“I definitely couldn’t do this without my teammates from the past and right now. They helped me out with so much, especially, I feel like the main two that probably gave me the most assists are June Mar and Chris,” ani Lassiter. “So I gotta thank them.”

FIVB nagpasalamat kay Pangulong Marcos

NAGPASALAMAT ang pamunuan ng FIVB sa Pilipinas na magsisilbing host ng prestihiyosong FIVB Men’s World Volleyball Championship na gaganapin sa susunod na taon.

Nag-host si Pangulong Bongbong Marcos ng programa sa Kalayaan Grounds sa Malacañang Palace para sa mga kinatawan ng FIVB na dumating sa bansa para sa drawing of lots.

Sa naturang programa, ibinigay ni FIVB general director Fabio Azevedo ang regalo para kay Marcos na isang painting mula kay Olympian artist Slaven Dizdarevic.

Kasama ni Azevedo sina Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) President Ramon “Tats” Suzara, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at Presidential son Vinnie.

“It was fantastic to see how committed your President is in promoting volleyball sports. It’s fantastic also to see the volleyball euphoria in the Philippines. So, we are looking forward to drawing more exciting events,” ani Fabio.

Tinawag ang programang “PH to Serve” na nagsilbing simula ng one-year countdown sa hosting ng FIVB Men’s World Championship 2025.

“It is really unbelievable, and I did not expect this concert for the World Championship. We never expect this. The commitment and the effort of the government are extraordinary. We would like to thank the First Lady, Vinnie, and the President for this,” ani Suzara.
