We started with only one table, now we have two tables at the market, and we have even expanded to a branch in Pasig. Over the years, we have established our shop here and have developed relationships with our mga suki from different parts of the country,” he shared, fondly looking back at his experience as a merchant at the market.

One of the more unique attractions at the Greenfield Weekend Market is the presence of a tarot reader. Ayon kay QC Mayor Joy Belmonte, ito ay sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng solar energy at upang mai-promote ang climate action initiatives para sa kapakanan ng mga residente.

Aniya, sa ngayon ay solar powered na ang tatlong gusali ng Quezon City Hall na bahagi ng suporta ng QC-LGU sa Environmental Initiatives ng pamahalaan para sa energy conservation, kabilang sa may mga solar panel ang High-Rise Main Building, Legislative Building at Treasury Building.

Habang ngayong 2024, mahigit sa 1,000 solar panel ang plano ng QC-LGU na ilagay sa Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital, Novaliches District Hospital at Quezon City General Hospital, gayundin sa Culiat Elementary School, Culiat High School, Judge Feliciano Belmonte Sr. High School, New Era High School, at Tandang Sora Elementary School.

Nakumpiska sa suspek ang nasa 5 grams ng hinihinalang shabu na may Standard Drug Price value na P34,000.00 at buy bust money.

DAPAT igiit ng Pilipinas ang hustisya at kabayaran sa mga nasugatang Pilipinong marino at nasira nilang barko dala sa ginawang pagbangga ng Chinese coast guard sa naturang navy ship sa may West Philippine Sea.

Ayon kay Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman, ang nasabing lugar ay bahagi ng maritime zone na tinukoy ng Permanent Court of Arbitration na sa Pilipinas noong 2016.

Iginiit pa ng mambabatas na dapat din hinggin ng Pilipinas ang pagkakalinlan ng mga umatakeng Chinese coast guard.

Sinabi pa nito na ang sasakyang pandagat ng gobyerno ay extension ng Philippine territory at sovereignty kung kaya ang natamong sugat at damages ng Filipino naval personnel at seacraft ay nasa ilalim ng hurisdiksyon ng Piliipinas.

NAKASUNGKIT ng pangako ang congressional delegation ng Pilipinas na pinamumunuan ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez mula sa mga opisyal ng Japanese parliament na kukuha ang Japan ng dagdag na mga Pilipinong manggagawa sa mga kritikal na sektor gaya ng elderly care.

Ang pangako ay nakuha sa isinagawang high-level discussions kasama si National Diet of Japan Speaker Fukushiro Nukaga at Vice-Speaker Banri Kaieda na ginanap sa Tokyo parliamentary building nitong Martes.

Sa naturang pagpupulong, kinilala ni Vice-Speaker Kaieda ang mga hamon na kinakaharap ng Japan at ang mahalagang kontribusyon ng mga Pilipino.

Sinabi naman ni Speaker Romualdez ang potensyal na mapalakas pa ang kooperasyon ng dalawang bansa.

“The Philippines has a growing population, so we are more than happy for our people to come and work here after receiving the appropriate training,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

Makatutulong din umano ito upang magkaroon ng bagong kaalaman ang mga Pilipino sa teknolohiyang mayroon ang Japan.

Sa kaparehong pagpupulong, nangako rin si Speaker Nukaga na ipagpapatuloy ang pagtulong sa ekonomiya ng Pilipinas. Sinabi nito na mayroong 1,400 Japanese company na nag-o-operate sa Pilipinas.

Nagpasalamat din si Speaker Romualdez sa patuloy na pagsuporta ng Japan sa mga Pilipino.

Mayroong mahigit 300,000 Pilipino na nakatira sa Japan kung saan nasa 164,000 ang nasa sektor ng caregiving, agriculture, hospitality, at manufacturing.

Kinilala rin ni Speaker Romualdez ang pagbibigay ng Japan ng suporta sa ekonomiya ng Pilipinas sa pamamagitan ng official development fund (ODA).

Sinabi pa ni Romualdez na mayroon ding mahalagang kontribusyon sa Pilipinas ang Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Ang makasaysayang kasunduan umano ng Estados Unidos, Japan, at Pilipinas ay lalo umanong nagpatibay sa samahan ng mga ito, ayon kay Speaker Romualdez.

Bilang tugon, kinilala naman ni Speaker Nukaga ang matibay na relasyon ng Pilipinas at Japan.

Kinilala rin ni Nukaga ang kahalagahan ng mga Pilipino sa Japan lalo na sa Ibaraki Prefecture na kanyang hometown.

Ayon kay Nukaga, na dating chair ng parliamentary group ng JICA at Minister of Finance, ang Pilipinas ang ikatlong pinakamalaking nakatatanggap ng ODA ng Japan, sunod sa India at Bangladesh.

Binigyan-diin din ni Nukaga ang kahalagahan ng relasyon ng Pilipinas, Japan, at Estados Unidos.

Binanggit din ni Nukaga ang joint maritime exercise ng Japan, US, Pilipinas at Canada kamakailan na isa umanong patunay ng kooperasyong ito.

Iginiit rin nito ang kahalagahan ng prinsipyo ng seguridad, demokrasya, at pagsunod sa batas.

“Our relationship is at an all-time high with the recent signing not just of the trilateral agreement, but of our relationship, of our strategic partnership,” ayon kay Speaker Romualdez.

Kinilala rin ni Speaker Nukaga ang mabuting ugnayan at relasyon ng Pilipinas at Japan.

Aniya, ang pagtutulungan ng dalawang bansa ay magpapalakas sa iba’t ibang larangan tulad ng depensa at seguridad.

Sinabi pa ni Nukaga na dalawang ulit na naging pinuno ng Japan Defense Agency, na nauunawaan nito ang kahalagahan ng kooperasyon sa pagitan ng bawat bansa na may parehong pagpapahalaga at nagtataguyod ng demokrasya.

Naniniwala rin ang pinuno ng mga mambabatas ng Japan na ang pangingibabaw ng batas ang dapat na maging batayan ng seguridad at pagtaguyod ng demokrasya, lalo na sa pagpapanatili ng pandaigdigang kaayusan.

Ang pulong nina Speaker Romualdez at Speaker Nukaga, sa Tokyo parliamentary building noong Martes ay naglalayong matalakay ang mga usaping kapaki-pakinabang sa Pilipinas at mamamayang Pilipino.

Kabilang sa mga paksang tinalakay ang pantay na access sa Philippine agricultural products, suporta sa  infrastructure projects sa ilalim ng Official Development Assistance (ODA), proteksyon ng overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), pamumuhunan ng mga Hapon sa bansa, at pagtutulungang pangseguridad.

Kasama rin sa pulong sina Japan Vice-Speaker Banri Kaieda, Japan House of Representatives International Affairs Department Director General Yamamoto Hironori, House Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Sa pulong, binanggit ni Speaker Romualdez ang patuloy na pagpapabuti sa kooperasyon sa depensa at seguridad sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Japan.

Aniya, sa pamamagitan ng alyansa ng Pilipinas sa Japan ay patuloy na napapalakas, at nagpatitibay ang kakayahang pandepensa at pangkalahatang seguridad ng Pilipinas.

Ang Japan ay isa sa pangunahing pinagmumulan ng kagamitang pangdepensa at suporta sa pagpapalakas ng kakayahan ng Pilipinas, at may mahalagang papel sa pagpapatatag ng kakayanan ng bansa na harapin ang mga hamon dito.

Ilan sa naging tampok sa kooperasyon ng bansa ang Official Security Assistance (OSA) mula sa Japan. Ito ay nilagdaan noong Nobyembre 3, 2023 sa naging pagbisita ni Prime Minister Kishida sa Pilipinas, ang OSA grants ay nagkakahalaga ng JPY600 milyon, o katumbas ng PHP235.5 milyon.

Kabilang sa tulong na ito ang Coastal Radar Systems, na naghihintay na lamang ng clearance. Inaasahan na ang mga radar system ay magpapahusay sa kakayanan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Noong nakaraang taon, sinimulan ng Pilipinas, Japan at U.S. ang pundasyon para sa higit pang pinahusay na pagtutulungan ng tatlong bansa.

Ang inisyatibang ito ay nagtapos sa inilunsad na Trilateral Summit noong Abril, kung saan pinagtibay ng mga pinuno ng tatlong bansa ang pagtaguyod sa pagpapahalaga sa demokrasya, rule of law, human rights, at gender equality.

Tinalakay din sa summit nina Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., US President Joe Biden at Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida ang mga paraan upang palakasin ang kooperasyon lalo na sa mahahalagang usapin.

Kabilang dito ang economic resilience and security, inclusive growth and development, climate change, at maritime cooperation.
