Sara Duterte, susunod na DepEd chief – Marcos Jr.

PUMAYAG si Vice Presidential frontrunner Sara Duterte na pamunuan ang Department of Education (DepEd).

“I think I am already authorized to announce the first nominee that we will be giving to the Commission on Appointments when the time comes, should I be proclaimed. That is that our incoming vice president has agreed to take the brief of the Department of Education,” ayon kay presumptive president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. araw ng Miyerkules sa isang televised speech.

Ani Marcos, isa sa kanyang mga dahilan kung bakit itinalaga niya si Duterte bilang susunod na Education secretary ay dahil sa naging gampanin nito (Duterte) bilang ina na nagnanais na “make sure that her children are well-trained and well-educated.”

“That’s the best motivation that we can hope for. So that is the first announcement that I can make that has come out of this process,” ayon kay Marcos. (Daris Jose)

EJ Obiena excited ng maging flag bearer sa SEA Games

LUBOS ang kasabikan ni Filipino Pole Vaulter EJ Obiena sa pagiging flag bearer ng bansa sa pagsisimula ngayong araw ng 31st Southeast Asian Games sa Hanoi, Vietnam.

Dumating ang 26-anyos na si Obiena isang araw bago ang formal opening ceremony na gaganapin sa My Dinh National Stadium.

Napili kasi ang world sixth best pole vaulter na maging flag bearer kasama si Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz na maging flag bearer ng bansa.

Subalit nagpasya si Diaz na ipaubaya na lamang kay Obiena ang pagiging flag bearer.

Magugunitang hindi natuloy ang pagiging flag bearer ni Obiena sa Tokyo Olympics noong nakaraang taon matapos na hindi umabot sa itinakdang panuntuna ng organizers na dapat sa loob ng 48 oras ay nasa Tokyo na ito.

Magaganap ang SEA Games mula Mayo 12 hanggang 23 sa 11 iba’t ibang lugar sa Vietnam.

Meralco, may rollback sa singil ng kuryente ngayong buwan ng Mayo

INANUNSIYO ng Manila Electric Company (Meralco) ang pagpapatupad ng rollback sa singil ng kuryente para ngayong buwan ng Mayo.

Ito ay kasunod ng dalawang buwang trend ng mataas na electricity rate matapos na ipag-utos ng Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) ang pag-refund ng nasa P7.8 billion mula sa excess collections makaraan ang isinagawang validation sa ikatlong regulatory period tariffs ng Meralco para sa period mula July 2011 hanggang June 2015.

Ayon sa Meralco, bumaba ng 12 centavos hanggang P10.0630 kada kilowatt-hour ang overall rate para sa isang typical household mula sa dating P10.1830/kWh noong buwan ng Abril.

Ang refund sa distribution-related charges ay katumba ng hanggang P0.4669/kWh para sa residential customers.

IBINIGAY ni Mary Francine Padios ang unang gintong medalya ng Pilipinas sa 31st Southeast Asian Games makaraang magwagi sa women’s pencak silat seni (artistic/form) tunggal single event sa Bac Tu Lien Gymnasium sa Hanoi, Vietnam.

Humugot ang 17-anyos na tubong Kalibo, Aklan ng lakas ng loob mula sa kanyang amang nakaratay ngayon sa coma matapos ang isang malagim na car accident bago mag-Pasko.

Umiskor si Padios ng 9.960 points para sapawan si 2019 winner Arum Sari (9.945 points) ng Indonesia.

Ito ang unang gold medal ni Padios sa SEA Games matapos makuntento sa silver noong 2019 Manila edition na pinagharian ng Team Philippines.

Nakahugot din ang Team Philippines ng tatlong silver at apat na bronze medals para upuan ang No. 4 seat sa medal tally board sa ilalim ng Vietnam (7-5-7), Malaysia (6-1-5) at Indonesia (3-4-0).

Samantala, maagang dumating sa Hanoi si Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz para sa asam na back-to-back gold medal sa women’s 55kg category.

Sa Mayo 20 pa sasalang si Diaz habang darating naman ang iba pang miyembro ng national weightlifting team sa Mayo 16.

HIMAS-REHAS ang dalawang binata matapos maaktuhan ng mga tauahan ng Maritime police na sumisinghot ng shabu sa loob ng isang kubo sa Navotas City, kamakalawa ng gabi.

Kinilala ni Northern NCR MARPSTA Chief P/Maj. Randy Ludovice ang naarestong mga suspek bilang sina Ricardo Bueno, 47, fisherman ng Blk 1 Lot 39 Squater Area NFPC, Brgy NBBN at Ruben Bordaje, 50, fish worker ng NFPC Brgy. NBBS.

Ayon kay P/Maj. Ludovice, habang nagsasagwa ng patrol operation ang mga tauhan ng MARPSTA sa pangunguna ni PCPT Luisito Balatico sa ilalim ng pangangasiwa ni PCOL Oliver Tanseco sa Navotas Fish Port Complex, Brgy. NBBN nang mapansin nila ang mga suspek na sumisinghot ng shabu sa loob ng isang nakabukas na kubo.

Nang lapitan nina Pat Ecequiel at Pat Samboy Pandi ay hindi na nakapalag ang mga suspek nang magpakilala silang mga pulis saka dinakip nila ang dalawa.

Ani PCMS Richard Denopol, nakumpiska sa mga suspek ang isang transparent plastic sachet na naglalaman ng hinihinalang shabu na nasa P200 ang halaga at ilang drug paraphernalias.

INIREKOMENDA ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte sa idedeklarang ika-labing pitong Pangulo ng Pilipinas na atupagin ang constitutional convention.

Sa kanyang Talk to the People, araw ng Huwebes ay sinabi ng Chief Executive na kailangan na talagang gawin ang nasabing hakbang at nakikita niyang may demand nang palitan ang konstitusyon.

Sinabi nito na masyadong magastos kung magpapatawag ng constitutional convention subalit kailangan aniyang gawin na ito at dapat ng umpisahan agad ng papasok na Administrasyon.

Aniya, kung gagawin kasi ang inisyatibo ng papatapos na ang termino ng papasok na Administrasyon , baka maakusahan pa aniya ito na ginagawa lang ang pagbabago sa konstitusyon dahil sa term extension gaya ng ibinato sa kanyang akusasyon.

Kasama rin sa iminumungkahi ng Punong Ehekutibo sa kanyang successor ang pagbuwag na sa party list system gayung nagagamit lang aniya ito laban mismo sa gobyerno partikular ng mga makakaliwa na ang layunin ay para sila ang pumalit sa pamahalaan. (Daris Jose)

Crunchyroll’s First Worldwide Release ‘Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO,’ Coming to Theaters in Summer

CRUNCHROLL and Toei Animation announced it will release Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO, the newest film in the worldwide anime blockbuster franchise, which will come to theaters globally in Summer 2022.

This is the first truly globally-distributed theatrical release for Crunchyroll and is distributed in North America by Crunchyroll. Internationally, the film will be distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The film will be coming to theaters across the globe on all continents, including North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia (excluding Japan, which will debut the film on June 11). The film will be released in Japanese with subtitles and dubbed.

“For more than 30 years, the Dragon Ball franchise has delighted fans around the globe who have followed the world’s greatest warriors who defend Earth from forces of evil,” said Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll. “We’re thrilled to partner with Toei Animation to bring fans the latest chapter of Dragon Ball Super to the legion of superfans eager to continue the adventure and to grow the anime audiences who are discovering it for the first time.”

Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO is the second film in the Dragon Ball Super franchise. Dragon Ball Super: Broly was released in 2018 to fans around the globe. The film has grossed over $120 million at the box office globally and is the #5th highest-grossing anime movie at the box office in the U.S.

The Synopsis: The Red Ribbon Army was once destroyed by Son Goku. Individuals, who carry on its spirit, have created the ultimate Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. These two Androids call themselves “Super Heroes”. They start attacking Piccolo and Gohan… What is the New Red Ribbon Army’s objective? In the face of approaching danger, it is time to awaken, Super Hero!

The film, with full commitment and deep involvement from Dragon Ball’s original creator Akira Toriyama, has the legendary manga creator behind the film’s original story, screenplay and character design.

Sara Duterte nagpaabot ng pasasalamat sa mga supporters habang inaantay ang proklamasyon

NAGPAABOT nang pasasalamat ang vice presidential frontrunner na si Davao Mayor Sara Duterte sa isang miyembro ng partido na nag-substitute sa kanya ilang araw bago ang pagtatapos noong nakaraang taon sa filing ng certificate of candidacy (COC) sa kanyang vice presidential bid.

Espesyal na pinasalamatan ng presidential daughter si Lakas-CMD member Lyle Uy dahil sa pagtanggap sa hamon na maging kandadito muna ng partido.

Sa panayam naman ng Bombo Radyo Philippines sa tagapagsalita ni Mayor Sara na si Liloan, Cebu Mayor Christina Garcia Frasco, iniulat nito na sinamahan niya ang susunod na pangalawang pangulo sa pagtungo sa Metro Manila upang magpasalamat sa mga malalapit na supporters.

Susunod na admin, dapat mag-invest sa digital infrastructure

NANAWAGAN si dating Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano sa susunod na bagong administrasyon na mag-invest sa digital infrastructure upang mas maging episyente ang automated voting system sa bansa at mabawasan ang pagkasira ng mga makina.

“Gamechanger talaga ang automated elections pero dapat we have the digital infrastructure needed to make it work,” ani Cayetano.

Sinabi ni Cayetano na dapat maging bahagi ng 5-year post-pandemic recovery plan ang improvements ng fiber network, undersea communication cables at cell site density upang maging mas “future-proof” ang bansa.

Makakatulong aniya ito para mabawasan ang problema tuwing halalan

Dapat din aniyang ikunsidera ng comelec ang pagbili ng karagdagang vote counting machines.

“Dapat talaga kumuha yung Comelec ng mas maraming vote-counting machines, kasi ang bilis ng dating ng resulta pero during voting ang haba pa rin ng pila,” dagdag ng mambabatas.

Gayunman, sinabi ni Cayetano na sa kabila na mas mabilis ang pagbibilang ng boto ay kailangang sirguruhin sa publiko ang transparency at access sa sistema.

Nasa total na 67.5 milyong Pilipino ang nkarehistro ngayong 2022 national elections, tumaas ng 5M botante mula 61.8M registered voters noong 2019.

Sa 67.5M registered voters, nasa 37M ang nasa edad 18 hanggang 41 anyos, na bumubuo ng mayorya ng mga botante. (Daris Jose)
