KASO NG DENGUE SA MAYNILA, MANAGEABLE PA

HINDI pa nakakaalarma at “manageable” pa ang mga kaso ng dengue sa lungsod ng Maynila.

Ito ang pahayag ni Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Head Arnel Angeles kasabay ng isinagawang fogging at misting operations sa Maynila ngayong araw, Biyernes.

Partikular sa Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center, na may naka-confine na ilang pasyente dahil sa dengue.

Tiniyak din ni Angeles ang patuloy na anti-dengue operations ng MDRRMO katuwang ang Manila Health Department upang hindi na tumaas pa ang mga kaso ng dengue sa lungsod.

Layon nito na maiwasan na lumaganap ang dengue sa mga kalapit barangay ng mga barangay na may mataas na dengue cases.

Sa katunayan, sinabi ni Angeles na nagsasagawa sila ng daily fogging at misting operations.

Habang ang ilang Barangay naman aniya ay kusa nang nagpa-fogging at misting operations at iba pang mga hakbang kontra-dengue gaya ng paglilinis ng kapaligiran.

Batay sa pinakahuling bilang ng MHD, hindi bababa sa 200 ang mga kumpirmadong kaso ng dengue sa Maynila mula noong Jan. 2022 hanggang June 25. (Gene Adsuara)

Panukalang P5.2-T nat’l budget para sa 2023, isusumite sa Kongreso sa Aug. 22 – DBM

ISUSUMITE ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) sa Kongreso ang panukalang P5.2-T national budget para sa 2023 sa Agosto 22, 2022.

“We will submit the budget to Congress on August 22,” ayon kay Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman sa isang press conference kasunod ng Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC) meeting.

Ang Pangulo, alinsunod aniya kasi sa Seksyon 22, Artikulo VII ng Konstitusyon ay dapat na magsumite ng panukalang national budget sa Kongreso sa loob ng 30 araw mula sa pagbubukas ng regular session ng Kongreso.

Ang 19th Congress ay nakatakdang magbukas sa Hulyo 25, araw ng unang Ulat sa Bayan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Nangangahulugan na ang DBM ay mayroong hanggang Agosto 24 para isumite sa mga mambabatas ang panukalang budget para sa 2023.

Sinabi ni Pangandaman na ima-maximize ng DBM ang timeline na nakasaad sa Saligang Batas “to give way and accommodate for the priority projects of the new Cabinet secretaries.”

Nauna rito, sinabi ng administrasyong Marcos na ia-adopt nito ang budget ceiling na itinakda ng nagdaang administrasyon dahil layon nito na isumite ang full-year budget sa Kongreso, dalawang araw bago ang constitutional deadline.

“As discussed during the DBCC meeting, we will stick with the P5.2 trillion as previously announced,” ayon kay Pangandaman.

Ang DBCC ng administrasyong Duterte ay nagtakda ng 2023 budget ceiling na P5.268 trillion.

Sa kabilang dako, sinabi naman ni dating Department of Budget and Management (DBM) officer-in-charge Tina Canda na kailangang sumunod ang administrasyong Marcos sa P5.268-trillion budget ceiling “for prudent fiscal management.”

Samantala, sinabi ni Pangandaman na nakatuon ang panukalang 2023 national budget sa “agricultural and food security, climate change adaptation, economic recovery, improved healthcare and education, enhanced infrastructure projects including digital infrastructure, utilization of renewable energy sources, strengthened tourism and jobs creation at sustainable development, among others.” (Daris Jose)

NAG-REACT din pala ang host/actress na si Giselle Tongi sa viral and controversial statement ni Ella Cruz na “History is like tsismis”.

Si Ella nga ang gumaganap bilang Irene Marcos sa pelikulang “Maid in Malañanang” ni Darryl Yap para sa Viva Films na ipalalabas this month na kung saan tungkol ito sa last 72 hours ng pamilya Marcos sa Malacanang Palace.

Sagot ni Ella, “History is like a chismis. It is filtered and dagdag na rin, so hindi natin alam what is the real history. Andoon na iyong idea, pero may mga bias talaga. As long as we’re alive. At may kanya-kanyang opinion. I respect everyone’s opinion.”

Hindi nga napigilang mag-comment ni G sa kanyang Twitter account, na kasama ang libu-libong Filipino na dumagsa sa EDSA noong eight years old pa lamang siya.

Tweet niya, “@itsEllaCruz actors don’t need to justify the villainy of their roles. I would to share with you how at 8 years old in 1986, I marched to the streets, along with countless others who are part of a history you are dismissing as here say.

“Wag nak’! It feels like erasure. Di Tama!”

May nag-react na mga netizens sa komento ni G, kaya may nag-screenshot ng lumang article na mababasang, “Tongi waits in the wings.”

Makikita na bahagi nito na, “Giselle was born in France to a Swiss father and a Filipino mother. She was raised by her mom in New York and came to live with her in Manila when she was 15.”

May nagsabing nagsisinungaling ang dating aktres sa naging statement tungkol sa mapayapang 1986 People Power.

Kaya naman nag-react si G Tongi ng pagkalat ng lumang artikulo na kung saan binash siya ng mga netizens, kaya tinawag niyang mga ‘tanga’.

Buwelta niya sa mga bashers, “Why are people so gullible? I was at People Power, when the Marcos authoritarian family was ousted out of power. I was a student in De La Salle Zobel at the time living in Paranaque.

“Just coz a prior article is wrong doesn’t discredit my experience. Mga tanga!”

KALABOSO ang 30-anyos na single father matapos maaktuhan ng mga pulis na sakay ang isang tinangay na motorsiklo sa Caloocan City, kamakalawa ng hapon.

Kinilala ni District Anti-Carnapping Unit ng Northern Police District (DACU-NPD) chief PMAJ Jessie Misal ang naarestong suspek bilang si Joe Mark Tenorio, 30 ng 389 Marulas A. Brgy. 36.

Ani PSSg Paul Colasito, dumulog sa tanggapan ng DACU para humingi ng tulong si Catherine Domingo matapos niyang makita ang kanyang nawawalang motorsiklo ay sinasakyan ng suspek sa kahabaan ng Marulas B. St., Brgy., 36 ng lungsod.

Kaagad nagsagawa ang mga tauhan ng DACU ng operation kasama ang Caloocan Police Sub-Station 2 sa pangunguna ni PMAJ Danilo Esguerra at PCAPT Joey Ilac ng Highway Patrol Group (HPG) CAMANAVA na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto sa suspek dakong alas-5 ng hapon sa naturang lugar.

Abalos sa LGUs: alisin ang mga sagabal sa kahabaan ng mga pangunahing lansangan, alternate roads

IPINAG-UTOS ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin “Benhur’ Abalos sa local government units (LGUs) na gawing “free major roads and alternate routes” ang kani-kanilang hurisdiksyon mula sa lahat ng obstructions o sagabal na hadlang sa maayos na takbo ng trapiko.

Ang paggamit aniya sa mga lansangan bilang parking slots para sa mga motorista kabilang na ang harapan ng ng mga business establishments at harap ng bahay ng mga motorista na walang sariling garahe ay nagdudulot ng ‘bottleneck’ sa mga major at alternative roads, lalo na sa Kalakhang Maynila at iba pang urban areas.

Sa mga lalawigan, may ilang road widening projects ng gobyerno ang nagiging walang silbi dahil ginagamit lamang itong parking slots ng mga motorista kabilang na ang overnight parking.

Giit ni Abalos, ang totoong solusyon para mapagaan ang traffic congestion ay mass transport, itinuro nito ang Light Railway Transit (LRT), Metro Rail Transit (MRT), bus carousel system at maging subway.

“So, habang ginagawa pa ‘yung subway, habang piniprepare pa ‘yung mass transport.. what you have right now is of course manufacturing of cars,’’ dagdag na pahayag nito.

Sa kabilang dako, hiniling naman niya sa DILG Undersecretary for Barangay Affairs na i-monitor ang lahat ng “Mabuhay Lanes” at ipatupad ang ‘appropriate sanctions’ sa mga barangay officials na matitigas ang ulo at non-complying.

Hindi naman binanggit ni Abalos ang pangalan ng DILG Undersecretary for Barangay Affairs subalit sa isang kalatas mula Kay Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, sinabi nito ang naging pahayag ni Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez, na si Barangay Captain Felicito “Chito” Valmocina of Holy Spirit, Quezon City ang napili na magsilbi bilang undersecretary ng nasabing departamento.

Sinabi ni Abalos na ang pagtaas ng bilang ng mga sasakyan sa mga major thoroughfares at side streets kada taon na walang ‘volume reduction program’ “as of the moment.”

“So face with that dilemma talagang kailangan magtulungan ang lahat para talagang masugpo itong traffic,’’ ayon kay Abalos.

Sinabi pa niya na ang face-to-face classes ay maaaring magsimula sa Agosto.

“So you could just imagine the volume of vehicles that will really traverse main thoroughfares of EDSA (Epifanio delos Santos Avenue). We will give support to MMDA (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority) at of course dito sa ating mga kasamang LGUs (and of course to our LGU partners)’’ ayon kay Abalos, Tinukoy ang expertise ng MMDA sa traffic management. Pinas, nagpaabot ng pakikiramay sa pamilya ni Shinzo Abe, sa bansang Japan

NAGPAABOT ng pakikiramay ang Pilipinas sa mga mamamayan ng Japan at pamilya ni dating Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe na pumanaw sa edad na 67, araw ng Biyernes.

Namatay si si Abe matapos barilin sa labas ng isang train station sa Nara habang nagbibigay ng talumpati para sa nalalapit parliamentary election.

“It is with profound sadness that we learn of the passing of former Prime Minister ABE Shinzo,” ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

“We express our deepest condolences to the Japanese government and people on his tragic death. We send our most heartfelt sympathy to Madame Akie Abe and their family. We pray for their comfort in this most difficult time,” dagdag na pahayag ng DFA.

Ayon pa sa departamento, “Mr. Abe was greatly admired by many Filipinos. We thank him for his key role in the strengthening of Philippines-Japan relations and for establishing a very deep bond of friendship with our country. Mr. Abe will be very much missed and always remembered.”

Samantala, nagpahayag naman ng pakikidalamhati si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte sa asawa ni Abe at pamilya nito.

“Abe was a good and loyal friend, a staunch supporter of my administration and a strong ally of the nation,” ayon kay Duterte sa isang kalatas na ipinalabas ng tagapagsalita nito na si Martin Andanar.

“As the world mourns the loss of this great man, we remember him for his compassionate service and remarkable leadership. Indeed, one of the most influential world leaders of our time,” aniya pa rin. (Daris Jose)

Miles Teller Reveals Tom Cruise’s Plans for ‘Top Gun 3’

“TOP Gun 3” could soon be ready for takeoff.

Actor Miles Teller has revealed he’s talked with Tom Cruise about filming a third “Top Gun” movie, just days after after the massive success of Top Gun: Maverick, surpassed a staggering $1 billion at the box office.

Tom Cruise returned to play Lt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in Top Gun: Maverick, a sequel 36 years in the making, which has gone on to become a box office behemoth.

Teller plays Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw in the film, the son of Maverick’s former rear pilot, Nick “Goose” Bradshaw (played by Anthony Edwards), who was killed in the first Top Gun.

Top Gun: Maverick has gone on to become a record-breaking success, after multiple release delays due to the pandemic. The film is now Tom Cruise’s highest-grossing film ever and the highest-grossing film of 2022 so far, beating out both Marvel and DC comic book blockbusters. Naturally, that type of success leads to sequel talks, which are persisting even though Top Gun: Maverick itself took decades to come to fruition.

The actor talked about the success of the recent film, making mention of how it will help “future negotiations” for his career (especially for a Top Gun 3, should that ever happen). While Teller sounds optimistic about a potential sequel, he ultimately says it’s all up to Tom Cruise: “That would be great, but that’s all up to TC. It’s all up to Tom. I’ve been having some conversations with him about it. We’ll see.”

Teller also showed Cruise plenty of gratitude for being a part of the Top Gun legacy, saying, “for him to share Top Gun with me and a lot of these other young actors, to bring us into that world has just been such a wild ride and it’s still going.”

The success of Top Gun: Maverick is indeed still flying high, with box office numbers continuing to soar, even as new big-ticket titles are added to the summer lineup. Thor: Love and Thunder will likely have a big impact with its release, but audiences are still turning out for Top Gun: Maverick, which doesn’t have a streaming release date as of yet.

Although it took decades for a Top Gun sequel to happen, Hollywood will no doubt be eager to see another happen much sooner, especially with Top Gun: Maverick pulling in over $1 billion thus far. That kind of success rarely goes ignored and the pressure will be on for Tom Cruise to make a decision sooner than later as to whether the show goes on.

While Maverick is now out of the Navy, there’s still plenty of story left to mine, especially with Teller and the rest of the younger cast making a good enough impression to merit their return. (source: screenrant.com)

World Bank, pinalilinis sa PH gov’t ang listahan ng mga benepisaryo ng social programs

HINIMOK ng World Bank ang pamahalaan ng Pilipinas na linisin ang listahan ng mga benepisyaryo ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Ayon kay World Bank Senior Economist for Social Protection and Job Global Practice Yoonyoung Cho, nakita nila na karamihan sa mga benepisyaryo ng cash transfer program ay hindi naman karapat-dapat.

Aniya, dapat magkaroon ang gobyerno ng malinis na database upang mapahusay ang targeting ng mga benepisyaryo tuwing may krisis.

Inirekomenda rin nila na ang streamlining ng contingency financing mechanism, para sa mas simpleng bureaucratic processing sa paggamit ng calamity funds.

Pinamamadali na rin ni Cho ang pamamahagi ng National ID dahil mas makatutulong ito na malinis ang listahan ng 4Ps at iba pang tulong. (Ara Romero)

PBBM, ipinag-utos sa DOH na paigtingin pa ang bakunahan ng booster shot sa bansa

SINABI ni Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, sa ngayon ay hindi pa nakakamit ng lahat ng rehiyon sa Pilipinas ang kanilang 50 percent target population sa bakunahan naman ng booster shot.

Habang ang National Capital Region (NCR) naman aniya ang pinakamalapit nang maabot ang target na umaabot na sa 43 percent ng target population nito.

Bukod dito ay ibinalita rin ni Vergeire na inatasan din ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang DOH na lalo pang paigtingin ang bakunahan ng booster shot sa bansa.

Ito ay dahil sa mga napapaulat na muling pagtaas ng mga kaso ng COVID-19 sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa at gayundin ang paghina naman ng immunity ng mga ating mga kababayan laban sa nasabing virus.

Ayon kay Vergeire, upang maisakatuparan ang utos na ito ng pangulo ay ilalapit nila sa mga komunidad ang mga bakunahan kabilang na ang pagsuyod sa malalayong lugar na mahirap maabot at ang pagsasagawa ng house-to-house vaccination para naman sa mga kababayan nating senior citizen.
