CITY OF MALOLOS – In celebration of Labor Day, 79 Bulakenyo jobseekers were hired on the spot and 31 individuals received livelihood packages during the 2023 Labor Day Job Fair for Local and Overseas Employment spearheaded by the Provincial Youth, Sports and Public Employment Service Office in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment held at Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here yesterday.
Prior the job fair proper, an employment counseling was conducted to guide the jobseekers land on the apt job for them wherein out of the 544 registered jobseekers, 468 of them have been qualified for interview and 79 applicants were hired on the spot.
Also, 31 individuals were granted livelihood packages under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program or the Kabuhayan Program of DOLE.
In her message, DOLE Regional Director Geraldine M. Panlilio announced that DOLE will also be donating a total of P20 million to the Province of Bulacan which will be utilized for future implementation of DOLE programs through the PGB.
“Marami po kaming ibibigay na suporta dahil isa po ang Lalawigan ng Bulacan under the leadership of Governor Daniel R. Fernando na nag-iimplment po ng mga programa ng DOLE para sa ikabubuti ng mga Bulakenyo. Ito po ay ipinagpapasalamat namin dahil alam po namin na kapag Bulacan po ang kapartner ng DOLE, sigurado na maibibigay ang serbisyo para sa mga Bulakenyo,” RD Panlilio said.
John Manuel Martillano, 24 years old from the City of Meycauayan, thanked the PGB for being an instrument for jobseekers like him to find employment especially after the pandemic.
“Nalaman ko po sa Facebook, sa PESO Bulacan page at sabi ko, why not i-try ko na mag-apply and praise God naman at isa ako sa mga na-hired on the spot sa Chery Auto. Kaya po maraming, maraming salamat po sa DOLE at PGB sa pagbibigay ng opportunity sa bawat Bulakenyo lalo na ngayon na matapos ang pandemic, mahirap talaga maghanap ng trabaho. Maraming salamat po at God bless po,” Martillano said.
For his part, Bulacan Gov. Daniel R. Fernando acknowledged all the support that the province is receiving from the national agencies, especially from DOLE, for their unwavering support in providing livelihood programs for the Bulakenyos.
“Tandaan natin palagi na ang Panginoon ay may instrumento para sa pagtulong sa atin. Alam n’yo po ang Bulacan ay hindi pinapabayaan ng DOLE, at ngayon ay may ibibigay po sila atin para lalo pang matulungan ang ating mga kalalawigan sa kanilang hanapbuhay. Sa lahat po ng beneficiaries, palaguin natin ang mga ito at ipakita natin sa kanila na ito ay malaking tulong at ang mga ito ay may kahihinatnan,” the governor said.
