Marami pang ‘di maka-move on na nalaglag sa Top 5: Pinupuring black evening gown ni MICHELLE, tribute kay Apo Whang-Od

ISANG tribute nga ni Miss Universe PH 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee kay Apo Whang-Od ang sinuot niyang evening gown sa 72nd Miss Universe in El Salvador.

Nirampa ni Dee ang sheer nude evening gown na napapalibutan ng black jewels. Inspirasyon ng kanyang gown ay ang tinaguriang “last and oldest mambabatok of the Kalinga ethnic group” na si Apo Whang-Od.

Dinesenyo ni Mark Bumgarner ang naturang gown na nagpapakita ng rich cultural heritage nating mga Pinoy.

Post ni Michelle sa Instagram: “A tribute to a legendary Filipina who has become an icon, preserving the rich cultural heritage of indigenous tattoo art. She has achieved global recognition and symbolizes timeless beauty, coinciding with Miss Universe lifting its age restrictions, championing inclusivity and challenging age stereotypes. A true icon and the last of her kind, a symbol of bravery, beauty, and inclusivity…Whang-Od.”

Si Apo Whang-Od ay si Maria Oggay, isang tattoo artist from the village of Buscalan within Tinglayan, Kalinga, Philippines. Parte siya ng Butbut people of the larger Kalinga ethnic group.

Nagsimulang mag-tattoo si Whang-Od sa edad na 15. Mga Butbut headhunters and women ang kanyang tina-tattoo-an. Pinagpatuloy niya ito ngayon para sa mga bumibisitang turista sa Buscalan.

Noong April 2023, sa edad na 106, naging “oldest person to ever be on the cover of Vogue si Whang-Od.

Samantala, ilang araw na ang nakalipas nang koronahan ang bagong Miss Universe na si Sheynnis Palacios, na gumawa ng history dahil siya ang unang beauty queen mula Nicaragua na nakapag-uwi ng korona, marami pa rin ang hindi maka-move on sa pagkalaglag ni Michelle sa Top 5.

Marami kasi ang naniniwala na deserving niyang mapasama sa Top 5, at may lumabas pa ngang nagkaroon ng ‘cooking show’ kaya siya naligwak.

Pero ganun pa man, proud na proud pa rin ang mga Pinoy dahil nakaabot naman siya sa Top 10 at malaking achievement na ‘yun.

Nilabas sa website na Oprah Daily ang 112 items na pasok sa 2023 list ni Oprah’s ngayong holiday season.

Mahigit P11M halaga ng tulong, naipamahagi na sa mga biktima ng lindol sa Mindanao

NAIPAMAHAGI na ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang mahigit sa P11 milyong halaga ng tulong sa mga pamilya na labis na naapektuhan ng malakas na lindol na tumama sa ilang bahagi ng Mindanao, araw ng Biyernes.

Sa katunayan, tinatayang may 1,1015 benepisaryo ang nakatanggap ng food packs sa munisipalidad ng Don Marcelino at Sarangani sa Davao Occidental habang may 2,800 food boxes naman ang naipamahagi na sa bayan ng Glan, at General Santos City sa Sarangani.

Nagbigay din ng pinansiyal na tulong sa 2,317 residente mula sa bayan ng Glen at Malapatan, at General Santos City.

“The DSWD remains steadfast in our mission to provide timely and efficient assistance to communities affected by the earthquake,” ayon kay DSWD Spokesperson Romel Lopez.

“Food packs and other essential items have been strategically prepositioned and are ready for immediate distribution,” dagdag na wika nito.

Samantala, makikita sa pinakabagong data mula sa National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) na pumalo na sa siyam ang naiulat na nasawi sa magnitude 6.8 na lindol na tumama sa Davao Occidental nitong Biyernes.

Ayon sa NDRRMC, walo sa naiulat na nasawi ay mula sa Soccsksargen at isa naman sa Davao Region.

Umabot naman sa 15 indibidwal ang naiulat na sugatan.

May kabuuang 12,885 indibidwal o 2,489 pamilya sa 43 barangay sa Soccsksargen at Davao ang apektado ng lindol.

Napinsala rin sa lindol ang 826 tahanan—729 partially at 97 totally—maging 118 imprastraktura, base sa NDRRMC.

Apektado rin dito ang kabuhayag ng 50 magsasaka at mangingisda sa Soccsksargen.

Naibalik naman ang power supply sa 21 apektadong lugar.

Dahil sa lindol, suspendido ang 14 klase at limang work schedules.

Naipaabot naman ang P11,612,558 tulong sa mga biktima, ayon sa NDRRMC.

Inatasan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. nitong Linggo (PH time) ang Philippine government officials na tiyakin ang patuloy na pagbuhos ng relief efforts para sa mga biktima ng nasabing lindol. (Daris Jose)

LABIS na nanghihinayang si Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wirtzbach na nalaglag sa Top 5 ang pambato ng Pilipinas na si Michelle Marquez Dee sa katatapos na 72nd Miss Universe na ginanap sa El Salvador

Ang Top 5 finalists pa naman ng beauty pageant makikilatis ang galing ng mga kandidata sa question-and-answer portion.

Umabot naman si Michelle hanggang Top 10, na kung saan nakarampa siya sa swimsuit at evening gown competitions na parehong kapuri-puri ang kanyang pinamalas.

Sa isang video na pinost ni Pia noong November 19, 2023, isang araw pagkatapos ng kompetisyon, naglabas siya ng naramdaman tungkol sa naging resulta ng Miss Universe 2023 kunsaan ang kinoronahan ay si Miss Nicaragua Sheyniss Palacios.

Sa pahayag ni Queen Pia, “I lso was rooting for the winner actually. And I think that she’s very deserving. ”

Dagdag pa niya na nagtataka, “Although I’m still wondering what could have been if Michelle had made it into the Top 5 and had the chance to answer a few questions.

“Coz she’s really good at Q&A. You wonder, you think of what could have been.

“But, yeah, I dunno. I’m still trying to absorb things. Kayo ba?”

Marami nga ang hindi pa rin maka-get over hanggang ngayon sa naging kapalaran ni Michelle, na sa paniwala ng marami na deserving siyang makapasok sa Top 5.

TUNGKOL pa rin sa Miss Universe 2023, may matapang na facebook post si Robby Tarroza tungkol sa nasagap niyang tsismis, na may naganap daw na dayaan sa pagpili ng Top 5.

Panimula ng post niya, “OMG!!!! I just got word from a very reliable source na tunkol sa chismax sa MU2023!!!! 100% daw may dayaan sa top 5!!! ” “Pero Nicaragua was still unbeatable dahil sa umpisa palang, her preliminary scores were so far away from the next candidate.

“According to my source, the top 5 is open to anyone willing to bid to get in. So this means, it is offered to any country, whoever bites, they get in. usually they only entertain one or two countries . this way it’s not obvious.”

Pasabog pa niya, “In the end, the last 5 will still have to fight! According to my source , MMD was fierce but did not have that CHAVIT backing, so di makapasok! Thailand l, well, Heluuuu, she was given a chance, but couldn’t beat the well researched and studied Nicaragua !

MGA BAGONG BARANGAY OPISYAL SA NAVOTAS, NANUMPA

NANUMPA ang mga bagong halal na pinuno ng 18 barangays sa Navotas City sa harap ni Mayor John Rey Tiangco, noong Lunes, November 20, 2023.

Sa kanyang talumpati, binati ni Mayor Tiangco ang mga opisyal habang hinahamon silang mag-iwan ng legacy sa loob ng kanilang dalawang taong termino.

“Serving others is a privilege. As government officials, we have a great responsibility to help ensure a good life for our fellow Navoteños. Use barangay funds honestly and efficiently, treat your constituents as part of your family, and always seek to expand your knowledge to improve the quality of your service and leadership,” aniya.

“We may not be able to solve all the problems or issues we encounter, but we should always strive to create a lasting positive impact to our community,” dagdag niya.

Hinikayat din ni Mayor Tiangco ang mga opisyal ng barangay na tulungan ang kanilang mga nasasakupan na magkaroon ng kamalayan at paggamit ng kanilang mga sarili sa mga programa ng pamahalaang lungsod.

Samantala, pinaalalahanan naman ni Cong. Toby Tiangco ang mga opisyal na, bilang mga lingkod-bayan, dapat nilang tuparin ang kanilang mga pangako at manguna sa pamamagitan ng halimbawa.

Security cooperation kasama ang Estados Unidos, saklaw ng economic tie up

KAPWA pino-proseso na ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos ang pagsusuri sa kung paano pa nila mapapabuti ang kakayahan at pagtutulungan saklaw ang military, politikal at ekonomiya.

Tinanong kasi ang Pngulo ukol sa bagong commitment ng Estdos Unidos sa pagtulong na matamo ang kapayapaan sa West Philippine Sea matapos bisitahin ang United States Indo-Pacific Command (Indopacom) sa Honolulu, Hawaii.

“Well, again, it’s a process. We are in the middle of many assessments, many discussions kung (on) how we can improve our capabilities, how we can improve our coordination with the US, not only in the military, but also the political leadership,” ayon sa Pangulo.

“That encompasses not only security concerns, but also economic concerns because the thinking in this day is that you cannot be strong and you cannot be able to defend yourself if you are economically weak,” dagdag na pahayag nito sabay sabing “Both sides are working based on that premise.”

Ani Pangulong Marcos, napag-usapan din ang seguridad, commitment sa ekonomiya, investments at public private partnership (PPP).

Partikular na tinukoy nito ang pagdalo sa Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting sa San Francisco, California, na aniya’y nangibabaw sa pag-uusap ukol sa teknolohiya.

“Karamihan ‘yung meeting namin was about technology and with tech companies. Bagay kasi nandyan ka na. San Francisco, Silicon Valley is just nearby. So we were able to do that,” ayon sa Pangulo.

“We were able to come to terms on some significant projects, programs that we would like to undertake in the Philippines. We talk about it so much about digitalization, about cybersecurity. And we made a lot of progress on this trip to make that part, that sector of our economy, that sector of our country a better one, a stronger one and a safer one,” aniya pa rin.

Nauna rito, binisita ni Pangulong Marcos ang United States Indopacom Headquarters kung saan inilatag sa kanya ang “regional situation at security objectives” ng Estados Unidos at Pilipinas.

Si Admiral John Aquilino, Indopacom commander ang nagbigay sa Pangulo ng itinakdang briefing hinggil sa kalagayan ng Indo-Pacific, US Indo-Pacific Strategy at ang “corresponding role” ng Indopacom, at ang kakayahan na maaaring ibigay ng Estados Unidos sa Pilipinas bilang suporta sa “common security objectives” nito.
