Posted on: December 6th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

“To serve the best interest of the riding public, the board deems it necessary to review and amend the existing policy on issuance of special permits for the 2023 holiday season, particularly on the duration of the permit to address the expected increase of travelers to the provinces,” ayon sa LTFRB.

“The P699 million program can only guarantee the availability of public utility vehicles (PUVs) throughout the day. We are bound by the Commission on Audit. Every discount shall be monitored by LTFRB. In case of traditional jeepney, we don’t have a way to monitor every ride, so we have to further study how to implement just in case we will give discount in fare. We are still learning the process,” wika ni LTFRB Technical Division chief Joel Bolano.

“Under this year’s program, a net service contract will also be implemented – meaning operators are paid an agreed-upon amount covering portion of the operational and maintenance costs to ensure fair compensation for the services rendered on top of the farebox collected,” dagdag ng LTFRB.

Posted on: December 6th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

“I wish to inform you that, pursuant to the provisions of existing laws, your service as Chief (Police General), Philippine National Police, is hereby extended until 31 March 2024,” ang nakasaad sa liham na nilagdaan ni Pangulong Marcos  na naka-addressed kay Acorda.

Sa pagpapalawig sa serbisyo ni Acorda, tinukoy ng  Office of the President (OP) ang  Executive Order No. 136, series of 1999, “which recognized the power of the President to approve the extension of service of presidential appointees beyond the compulsory retirement age for exemplary meritorious reasons.”

Posted on: December 6th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

Pagbabahagi ng premyadong aktres, “my mom moved to the States, I think, Grade 3 or 4 ako. My mom battled mental health issues.

“We lost her third child, my brother, he was 17 days old in 1988.

“I think that was the final straw. After that, I think, it was not a good time, the tensions was there.

There was a lot of things going on in the house.”

Pagpapatuloy pa ni Iza, “my mom was diagnosed as Bipolar, and para sa akin mahirap intindihin, pag bata ka.

“When I lost my mom, that’s really when i started a little direction in life. Kasi I lost her when I was 19. I was completely shocked, because it was tragic.

I was not doing well in school, parang party girl ako nun. I didnt have a direction, plan or dreams even.”

I think kay Daddy ang pagkain, he didn’t enough of it growing up.

“He was a sampaguita vendor, you know, he was from the streets. So parang from humble beginnings, I think his love language is to provide us good foods and to enjoyed it.

“Deia was not plan, I wanted to work and work. Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘you know what, we have to freeze more embryos’, we have a round before.

Works are coming in and it is really good, I want to do this, to do that, tapos nabuntis. Nabigla rin ako noong una. But it is God’s plan, ok, I will not resist but embrace it.

“And wow, what a gift.”

Napapanood every Sunday at 5 pm sa NET25 ang ‘Korina Interviews’ right after ng romantic-comedy na ‘Good Will’.

The huge responsibility that comes with playing the earthly parents of Jesus is not lost on the actors who play them in the film. “I feel like for Mary it’s probably a much deeper weight,” says Manheim, who plays Joseph, about the character of Mary. “But, you know, Mary is obviously carrying the child of God.”

“It’s a huge responsibility,” agrees Palomo, who plays the all-important role of Mary. “But we will see through the movie that she couldn’t have done it without Joseph.”

Watch the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66WKfFju3eE

Their respective characters aren’t the only things Palomo and Manheim love about the movie. They’re singing praises of the film’s music too!

“The thing that I love about this so much is that it’s such an ancient story but all the music is so modern,” says Manheim. “It feels like two things that wouldn’t really go together but we’re creating a movie that I absolutely would watch and I know that I would love – and the music is incredible.”

Adds Palomo, “It’s a beautiful balance between just very grounded real human problems and purposes and barriers and everything, and just performance and theater and color – it’s perfect.”

“Finding the right Mary and Joseph was, of course, key,” says Richard Peluso, head of Affirm Films, a Christian film studio owned by Sony Pictures. “I had already been kind of teed up by Adam [Anders, director] and the producer saying that they really like these two actors, and when I finished watching all the tapes, I came back to them and said, ‘You guys are spot on – It is Fiona, and it is Milo. They are Mary and Joseph.”

Journey to Bethlehem, also starring Academy Award® nominee Antonio Banderas as King Herod, is showing exclusively in SM cinemas starting December 6. Don’t miss this must-see feel good film this holiday season.

Navigating Corporate Social Responsibility: A Balanced Approach

Posted on: December 6th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is more than just business philanthropy. More than a strategic approach that businesses adopt to ensure a positive impact on society, it shows that behind every business are humans that embody an organization’s values and objectives.

This blog explores the multifaceted concept of CSR, delving into its historical evolution, the business case for a balanced approach, and its integral pillars.

Understanding CSR

History and Evolution of CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility has a rich history, evolving from a philanthropic afterthought to an integral part of strategic business planning. Initially, businesses engaged in CSR primarily as a response to societal pressure. Over the years, CSR has transformed into a proactive strategy that goes beyond mere compliance. What caused this? A growing awareness of the interconnectedness between business success and societal well-being.

The Pillars of CSR

CSR rests on four pillars: economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic.

  • Economic responsibility involves being profitable to ensure the company’s survival and growth.

  • Legal responsibility requires businesses to operate within the confines of the law.

  • Ethical responsibility involves conducting business in a morally upright manner.

  • Philanthropic responsibility focuses on giving back to the community, which many local companies focus on.

Developing a Balanced CSR Strategy

A balanced CSR approach involves harmonizing these pillars to create a sustainable and socially responsible business model. Here’s how businesses can do this:

Analyzing Stakeholders’ Expectations

A key step in formulating a balanced CSR strategy is understanding and analyzing the expectations of stakeholders – from customers to shareholders, to employees, to communities, and even to government and regulatory bodies. Comprehensive stakeholder analysis help businesses identify the most critical issues to address through their CSR.

Aligning CSR with Business Goals

For CSR to be effective, it must be integrated seamlessly with a company’s overarching business goals. Align your CSR initiatives with the core values and mission of your organization to benefit both your company and society. CSR then becomes more than a mere add-on, and gives companies a sense of purpose and authenticity.

Incorporating Sustainability and Ethical Practices

Sustainable business practices and ethical considerations are at the heart of a balanced CSR approach. This involves adopting environmentally friendly measures, embracing ethical supply chain management, and prioritizing fair labor practices. With consumers becoming increasingly sustainable-conscious, companies that uphold sustainability inadvertently gain a competitive edge.

Partnering with top PR agencies in the Philippines can help you execute these steps and develop a balanced CSR strategy that makes both your organization and the communities you serve happy.

Implementing CSR Initiatives

After creating a strategy, it’s time to implement it. Some of the best ways many businesses have long been conducting their CSR initiatives include:

Community Engagement

Businesses can engage with communities through various initiatives, such as supporting local education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. Better still, when business partner with local organizations and NGOs, it enhances the impact. Spearheading activities such as feeding programmes, vaccination caravans, awareness workshops, and more, fosters a sense of shared responsibility and care for the same group of people. Notable examples include companies like Jollibee and the SM Corporation, who have continually funded local scholarship programs.

Environmental Conservation Efforts

Local companies big and small are increasingly recognizing the importance of reducing their environmental footprint by adopting eco-friendly practices, investing in renewable energy sources, and minimizing waste. Businesses that contribute to environmental efforts beyond the usual tree planting activities contribute to long-term sustainability and resonate positively with environmentally conscious consumers. Notable organizations taking leaps forward in the realm of sustainability include CEMEX and Unilever, who have partnered with LGUs to scale up disposable plastic collection to turn into energy.

Workplace Wellbeing and Diversity

Companies in the Philippines are adopting policies that prioritize workplace wellbeing, including mental health support, flexible work arrangements, and employee wellness programs. Diversity and inclusion (DEI) have also become more commonplace in larger organizations. This involves creating a workplace that is diverse in terms of gender, ethnicity, and background, ensuring equal opportunities for all employees. Players in the local healthcare industry, as well as the Philippine arm of multinational corporations, have begun to employ DEI initiatives within their organizations.

Measuring CSR Impact

After implementing your CSR strategies, measuring the impact and ensuring you’re actually making a difference is also imperative. Walking the talk and avoiding greenwashing are just some of the calls to action consumers make towards corporations that employ CSR.

Setting Up Metrics and KPIs

Like every other part of business operations, you can ensure accountability and continuous improvement by establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics aligned with your CSR goals. Measure indicators relating to environmental impact, community development, employee satisfaction, and other relevant parameters. When you assess the effectiveness of your CSR initiatives and make data-driven decisions, you make sure your efforts and resources are not being wasted, and you are making a real impact.

Tools and Platforms for Tracking CSR Initiatives

Global reporting tools and reporting standards, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) or the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), provide frameworks for transparent and comprehensive reporting. These are available for corporations that are serious about measuring their impact and creating a lasting difference. Technology-driven platforms offer real-time tracking of initiatives, enabling companies to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and communicate their impact to stakeholders effectively.

Smaller companies can also partner with sustainability agencies, or even PR agencies, to help track the effectiveness of their initiatives on-ground.

Reporting and Transparency

To enhance accountability and build trust with stakeholders – ensuring you are truly walking the talk – companies are encouraged to publish sustainability reports. These comprehensive CSR reports adhere to established standards, demonstrate a commitment to openness and provide a clear account of the company’s social and environmental impact. These reports also foster credibility, and may even contribute to positive brand perception.

Elevate Your Strategy through CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility is no longer a peripheral concern but a central component of modern business strategy. A balanced CSR approach involves aligning with stakeholders’ expectations, integrating with business goals, and championing sustainability and ethical practices. Implementing meaningful initiatives, such as community engagement, environmental conservation, and workplace diversity, not only benefit society but also enhance brand reputation and foster long-term business success.

Posted on: December 6th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

“It has always been our priority to provide our fisherfolk with opportunities to earn a sustainable livelihood. Navoteños are seasoned at fishing. We just need to supply them with necessary gears and equipment to ensure they can continuously earn enough and support their families,” sabi ni Mayor John Rey Tiangco.

Posted on: December 6th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

“Dad, totoo ba ‘to? Hindi nagsi-sink in sa akin.

“So, I’m very blessed, and very excited kami i-share sa inyo ang trailer.

Napa-throwback pa si Rayver dahil last year raw of almost the same time, ang concert din nila ni Julie.

At personal favorite namin sa kabuuan ng ‘Queendom Live’ concert ang acapella number nila na ‘End of the Road,’ at ‘Man in the Mirror.’

Posted on: December 6th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

“Mayroon kaming persons of interest but the investigation is still ongoing. In order not to preempt the investigation we will not divulge the names,” ani Nobleza.

Posted on: December 6th, 2023 by @peoplesbalita No Comments

“These initiatives show our commitment not only to provide the best services to our customers, but also to help the government in speeding up and pursuing worthwhile projects for the benefit of the public, and to contribute to the growth of the economy as well.” sabi ni Jeric Sevilla, Manila Water Corporate Communication Affairs Group Director.
