2 kulong sa baril at P500K shabu sa Malabon

SHOOT sa kulungan ang dalawang hinihinalang drug personalities, kabilang ang isang bebot matapos makuhanan ng baril at mahigit kalahating milyon halaga ng shabu sa isinagawang buy bust operation ng pulisya sa Malabon City.

 

 

Kinilala ni Malabon police chief Col. Albert Barot ang naarestong mga suspek na sina Pierce Joshua Nicholas Pascual alyas “Pasky” at Wendy Roble.

 

 

Ayon kay Col. Barot, dakong alas-6:10 ng umaga nang magsagawa ang mga operatiba ng Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) ng buy bust operation sa Pureza St., Brgy. Tugatog kung saan isang undercover police ang nagawang nakipagtransaksyon sa mga suspek ng droga.

 

 

Matapos tanggapin ng mga suspek ang marked money mula sa police poseur-buyer kapalit ng droga ay agad silang inaresto ng mga operatiba.

 

 

Nakumpiska ng mga operatiba sa mga suspek ang tinatayang nasa 75 grams ng hinihinalang shabu na may standard drug price P510,000.00, buy bust money at isang caliber .40 pistol na kargado ng magazine at may laman dalawang bala.

 

Nahaharap ang mga suspek sa kasong paglabag sa RA 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 habang dagdag na kasong paglabag sa RA 10591 o Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunation ang kakaharapin pa ni Pascual. (Richard Mesa)

Omicron magiging dominant variant sa loob ng 3-4 linggo

Inaasahan na magiging dominanteng variant ng COVID-19 sa Pilipinas ang Omicron variant sa susunod na tatlo o apat na linggo.

 

 

Ayon kay DOH Undersecretary at treatment czar Leopoldo Vega, nananatiling dominanteng variant pa rin ang Delta ngunit maaaring agad na malagpasan ito ng Omicron dahil sa ulat ng bilis ng ‘incubation’ nito at mas madaling maipasa sa ibang tao.

 

 

“I think in about three to four weeks, as predicted, the Omicron will be dominant in terms of 50% to 90% of the cases, overtaking the Delta virus,” dagdag pa niya.

 

 

Sinabi pa ni Vega na ang COVID-19 infections ay magpi-peak pa sa mga susunod na araw, at wala pang katiyakan kung mababawasan ito.

 

 

Paliwanag niya, ang Omicron ay may mas mataas na high transmissibility rate, na nasa 30 hanggang 50%, kumpara sa Delta.

 

 

“We are preparing our health system capacity, our testing, isolation so that we are all prepared in this another ride in the wave of this Omicron virus,” ani Vega.

 

 

Samantala, pinawi rin ng opisyal ang pangamba ng publiko laban sa napaulat na sakit na Florona, na kumbinasyon umano ng trangkaso at COVID-19 at unang natukoy sa isang buntis sa Israel.

 

 

 

Ayon kay Vega, hindi pa ito concern ngayon sa Pilipinas at maaari lamang itong mangyari kung mahina ang immunity ng isang tao at walang anumang proteksiyon laban sa mga virus.

NOONG Lunes, January 3, kinumpirma ni Kris Aquino ang paghihiwalay nila former Interior Secretary Mel Sarmiento matapos na sila’y ma-engage last October, 2021.

 

 

Sabi niya, “Sa pinagdadaanan ko ngayon, may tao bang gustong pag–usapan pa ang kanyang paghihiwalay?

 

 

“But in order for me to be able to peacefully move on, and focus on myself and my health, BECAUSE my sons still need me, Kuya Josh has autism, and Bimb will only turn 18 in 3 years, 3 months, and 16 days, I must end this chapter.“

 

 

Ibinahagi nga ni Kris ang screenshots ng last text message ni Mel sa kanya na kung saan tinanggap nito na makipag-break na sa kanya.

 

 

“I will just post screenshots of Mel’s last message to me. After that you will never read nor hear anything at all about him from me, because I still want to preserve whatever dignity I have left,” say ni Kris.

‘Poblacion girl’ hindi idedeklarang persona non grata ng Makati City – Mayor Binay

Tumanggi ang Makati City na ideklarang persona non grata si Gwyneth Anne Chua, ang Pilipinang tumakas sa kanyang quarantine at nakahawa sa marami sa kanyang mga nakahalubilo.

 

 

Sa halip ay hinimok ni Mayor Abby Binay ang mga business establishments at mga indibidwal na tinamaan ng COVID-19 na ireklamo si Chua matapos itong tumakas sa kanyang quarantine para pumunta sa isang party sa Poblacion, Makati.

 

 

Nabatid na apat sa 12 indibidwal na nahawaan ng COVID-19 kasunod ng superspreader event sa party na dinaluhan ni Chua ay pawang mga empleyado ng isang bar.

 

 

Kahit hindi idedeklarang persona non grata ang tinaguriang “Poblacion girl” sinabi ng alkalde na papanagutin pa rin nila ito.

 

 

Naghahanda na rin aniya ang lungsod ng reklamo laban sa hotel na pumayag kay Chua na makatakas sa quarantine nito.

NAG-CELEBRATE pa rin si Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards ng kanyang 30th birthday sa Eat Bulaga last Monday, January 3, dahil that time ay January 2 pa sa San Francisco, California, his actual birthday.

 

 

At nakipagkulitan pa si Alden kina Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Allan K at sa guest co-host na si Kakai Bautista.

Dumating sa Sydney airport ang parents ni Jinri at agad na pinag-quarantine sila sa isang hotel.

 

 

“Finally. After 2 years, a lot of tears and effort my parents arrived in Sydney. I saw them but they had to go to isolate at a hotel until they got their negative PCR results and it took about 2.5 days to get it since I paid to get the fast result one,” sey ni Jinri.

 

 

Sa Australia na naka-base si Jinri at inamin niyang nahirapan siyang mag-adjust doon kaya kailangan niya ang gabay ng kanyang mga magulang.

 

 

“It was such a rollercoaster ride not knowing if I’ll get to see them still or what would happen. Everything was so unclear and I spent so many nights and days crying thinking i won’t be seeing them again this year.

 

 

“It’s been hard living in a foreign country with no friends and family so I’ve missed them even more. They won’t be staying for too long since they both have to go back to work in Korea but I’m so so sooooo happy I finally got to see my parents after 2 years,” sey pa niya.

DOTr: 70 percent maximum kapasidad sa mga PUVs ipapatutupad pa rin

Inihayag ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na mananatiling 70 na porsiento ang maximum na kapasidad ang ipapairal sa mga public utility vehicles (PUVs) ngayon nasa Alert Level 3 ang Metro Manila.

 

 

Mahigpit na pinagutos ng DOTr sa mga pampublikong sasakyan sa lupa at sa mga stakeholders na ipatupad ang nasabing batas sa National Capital Region.

 

 

Inutusan ng DOTr ang mga kumpanya ng mga buses at PUV operators kasama ang mga transport terminals sa NCR na mahigpit na ipatupad ang health protocols habang ang Metro Manila ay nasa Alert Level 3 hanggang January 15 dahil sa pagtaas ng mga kaso ng COVID-19.

 

 

“The 70 percent maximum passenger capacity would remain in the NCR to keep pace with the demand for public transport services,” wika ni DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade.

 

 

Sinabi rin ni Tugade na kung magkakaron ng mga pagbabago sa pinayagang maximum na kapasidad sa pampublikong transportasyon, ang DOTr ay susunod pa rin sa pinatutupad na regulasyon ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

 

 

“With the continued rise of COVID-19 cases in NCR, the DOTr enjoins our land-based transport operators to remind passengers to strictly observe minimum health protocols and ensure that the maximum allowable passenger capacity is followed,” dagdag ni Tugade.

 

 

Ayon pa rin sa kanya na hindi dapat tayo maging kampante sa pagsunod sa mga pinatutupad ng pamahalaan na minimum health protocol dahil ito naman sa atin rin na ikabubuti. Dapat lang tayo ay maging mapagmatyag upang bumaba ang  kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa.

 

 

Kaya nagsimula na naman ang mga police at traffic enforcers na manghuli ng mga hindi sumunod sa nasabing patakaran. Noong Lunes pa pinatupad ang 70 porsiento na kapasidad sa mga PUVs.

 

 

Kamakailan lamang ay may nakitang video habang ang isang jeepney ay pinahihinto ng mga traffic enforcers subalit ito ay kumarepas ng takbo. Ang iba naman mga drivers ng buses, UV Express, at iba pang pampublikong sasakyan ay humihinto habang ang mga inspectors ay tinitingnan kung sila ay sumusunod sa 70 na porsientong kapasidad.

 

 

Sinasabi ng mga ibang drivers na hindi nila alam na 70 porsiento ang pinapayagan lamang na maximum na kapasidad ng mga PUVs.

 

 

Ang Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ay nagbigay ng isang memorandum noong Jan. 2, sa mga land-based transportation stakeholders na dapat nilang subaybayan ang kanilang mga drivers at conductors upang masiguro na sila ay sumusunod sa minimum health protocols lalo na sa 70 na porsiento ng kapasidad ng mga PUVs.

 

 

“We warned that the non-observance of health protocols onboard PUVs or violation of 70% maximum passenger capacity order are considered violations of franchise conditions. Penalties for violating PUV franchise conditions range from hefty fines to the impounding of the involved PUV,” ayon kay LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra.

Face-to-face classes sa NCR, sinuspinde

Sinuspinde muna ng Department of Education (DepEd) ang pagdaraos ng pilot face-to-face classes sa National Capital Region (NCR), kasunod na rin nang pagsasailalim muli ng pamahalaan sa rehiyon sa Alert Level 3 status dahil sa muling pagtaas ng mga naitatalang bagong kaso ng COVID-19.

 

 

Sinabi ng DepEd na muli na lamang nilang ipagpapatuloy ang limitadong face-to-face classes sa sandaling maibalik muli sa Alert Level 2 ng NCR.

 

 

“Consistent with the recent memorandum of the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force) for the Alert Level 3 protocols and considering the notable increase of Covid cases in NCR, DepEd, in consultation with DOH (Department of Health), confirms that face to face classes for pilot schools in NCR are  suspended until the alert level reverts to Level 2,” anunsiyo pa ng DepEd.

KEANU Reeves, continuing to prove himself as the nicest guy in Hollywood, reports say that the actor donated most of his Matrix salary to leukemia research.

 

 

Reeves, who rose to prominence in the 1990s off the back of his performances in films like Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Point Break, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and Speed, was cast in as Neo in 1999’s The Matrix after the role was turned down by Will Smith.

 

 

Considered one of the most influential films of the 20th century, the original Matrix earned multiple awards and was openly praised by big-name filmmakers such as James Cameron, Quentin Tarantino, and Christopher Nolan for its inventive storytelling and groundbreaking visual effects.

 

 

Reeves, who in more recent years has continued his run as a fan-favorite action hero in the John Wick franchise, recently returned to the Matrix franchise in the series’ fourth installment, The Matrix: Resurrections. Despite having his character killed off at the conclusion of 2003’s The Matrix: Revolutions, writer and director Lana Wachowski reunited Reeves with his original co-star, Carrie-Ann Moss, in a new film that takes place 60 years after the events of the original trilogy.

 

 

Since its December 22 release, the franchise’s latest entry has already managed to gross over $105 million in worldwide box office and is also set to release in China later this month.

 

 

Now, new reports currently sweeping the web say that Reeves gave 70 percent of his $45 million salary for playing Neo in the original film to leukemia research. According to Lad Bible (via the NY Post), Reeves received $10 million upfront and a further $35 million after the film’s release, and he later quietly donated $31.5 million out of his Matrix paycheck.

 

 

According to these reports, Reeves had a personal connection with the cause, as his younger sister Kim had been battling the disease since 1991 and had spent a decade undergoing treatment before entering remission in 2001. The star would also go on to quietly set up his own non-profit foundation which supported children’s hospitals and cancer research.

 

 

This latest news of Reeves’ continuing benevolence probably comes as little surprise for fans of the beloved actor. Well known for his generosity and casual manner, Reeves has repeatedly earned himself a reputation as one of the nicest guys in Hollywood with a long list of good deeds to his name.

 

 

From stories of him helping John Wick crew members shift heavy film equipment, to tales of him renting a minibus to help out his fellow stranded passengers, it seems that new accounts of Reeves’ good heart and warm nature make their way out into the world every other day.

 

 

As far from the stereotypical image of Hollywood prima-donna as one could get, probably the best part of this latest story is the simple fact it is only just now coming to light after two decades. Clearly not feeling the need to draw attention to or advertise his donations, the actor’s astounding generosity is matched only by his continued sense of humility.
